While every other channel is poised to show the lame "State of the Union" address, we'll be reveling in the return from winter hiatus a brand new Supernatural episode!

The winter finale left us wondering if the MoC had completely overtaken Dean. Has it? will Sam and Cas be able to find a way to erase the mark and return Dean to his old self? Watch, discuss and rate.

I am excited! Did Dean go nuclear? Was Crowley being tortured by a mob? Did Sam smirk at Metatron? This is as sweet as a Krispy Kreme donut. Yummy.

SoCal Of course you are right. Those clips are probably from five different episodes. I have been missing Supernatural so much that I am watching the DVDs even though I should be watching current series on the DVR. As we say, "the heart wants what the heart wants."

tA, even though I say I am trying not to get too excited over the episode, I'm sure I am. Just a little disappointed to see Cas and Jimmy's daughter seem to be in it as well as Crowley's mom. Too crowded IMO......I just want to see Dean and Sam!

Maybe we can have an episode with just Dean and Sam, except we let Cas look cute in the back seat of the Impala?

I enjoyed the episode, and it did not bother me at all when Dean sliced Metatron. It is good to see Dean being open and honest about the effects of the Mark. I really thought we were going to see Dean rip those two shady characters apart, but that would really have shaken up the angsty teen.

I don't know how much I can take of that evil, but very powerful, witch. I do not usually promote matricide, but I would make an exception in her case.

Sam was warm and caring, but he did not really do a lot of action. I'm ready to see him do some more fighting. He has the best right hook I have seen.

I love Castiel and it is heartwarming to see his sensitive side. He care so much about the guys and he wants to do right by the angsty teen. I did laugh at his explanation of why Dean should try to talk to her. I think that was the funniest line in the episode. Oh...I laughed when Castiel said he likes texting and the emojis because his fans know Misha loves to tweet and upload funny pictures.

I thought the episode was really good and LOVED seeing Dean carve up Metatron. When he pulled that angel blade from behind his back I was drooling.

My only negatives were: I don't care about Claire. The Castiel/Claire storyline is as boring to me as the Castiel/Hannah storyline was. If we never see her again, I won't miss her. I can't believe Crowley is falling for Rowena's blather. She's annoying and I would think Crowley would see right through her. Maybe he does, but he's playing her. I hope so. She's not interesting either.

Sam wasn't a big part of this episode. He says a few calming words and that's it. What a waste of a good character. The best thing he did during the whole episode was calling Metatron a "dickwad." And Dean still isn't listening to him.

When Castiel took Metatron back to Heaven's jail, I worried when he told Dean he was going to get much, much worse. Also, what is Crowley going to do with the first blade?

All in all, an enjoyable return from the winter hiatus.

The last time we saw Cain, he had opened the door to his cabin, after Dean and Crowley got out, and let in a hoard of demons, killing them, I guess. What happens after that, we don't know.

I anticipated Metatron telling Dean he needed to get the First Knight or Cain, but he told him to get the First Blade. I do not expect Cain to be willing to transfer the Mark back to himself; however, maybe he could help. But I have never heard any rumors that Cain would be returning anyway.

Did Cain lose the mark when he gave it to Dean, or did they both now have the mark? I wonder because Cain took on all those demons at the end of "First Son."

Cain lost the mark, but my guess is that he was still as strong as Abaddon. Therefore, he could handle the demons.

I agree. I actually liked the other angel with Cas though... forgot her name.

I thought the episode was pretty good, and hey it is good that SPN is on again.

I enjoyed the scenes with Dean Metatron and Sam in the dungeon and really liked Dean going after Metatron, it didn't bother me at all when Dean was giving him what he deserved. Metatron has a lot to answer for and I am glad to see it coming.

I don't think there is anything or anyone as gorgeous as Jensen/Dean being a BA, he just smolders onscreen and brings such an intensity to his performance that it is hard to focus on anything else other than him. I did also like seeing him being vulnerable with Sam and Cas, and then later with Sam in the bunker and finally coming a little clean about how he feels, the guys just needs to talk to someone once in a while.
I also think Cain still has the MOC, he just transferred some of it to Dean, I thought that I saw it on his arm after the transfer, but havent' had time to go back and watch that episode again.

I like Sam being a rock for his brother this year, I don't mean that Sam has never done that before, but after the last few years of Dean always being the one to fight for Sam, it is nice to see the reversal. I like seeing Sam look for ways to save his brother. I would have liked to see Sam have a little more to do but I guess we can't have everything.

I like the Cas/Claire dynamic, But I don't want it to be a main focus of the show, I think it works well in small doses. I did like seeing them connect at the end of the episode and would like to see a little more of that later on. Does Cas have his own key to the bunker? he seems to come and go and they guys seem ok with it, though I did think there was only 1 key? I do like seeing Cas work with the guys I like this growing friendship with Sam, and I really enjoy seeing him with the guys, I enjoy the episodes most where they all work together, fighting evil and trying to save people.
I don't think Claire is as bad as Krissy, I didn't care for that little whiny girl at all.


What is going on with Crowley?? When would Crowley ever say where his bones were at?? Crowley is a dark, delicious character with awesome dialogue, what has happened? I can't stand Rowena's one dimensional character, how can Crowley not see thru her, either that or he is doing a great job at pretending he doesn't see what is going on. This is the same demon who planted a magic coin on the guys in S5 to hear what they were saying and now he doesn't know what is going on???
I hope Rowena goes away soon, don't care for that story at all.

I must say my mouth dropped open when I read the spoiler. Thanks for sharing it.

I like the way Castiel acts with and toward Claire. It's nice to see those expressive eyes turned toward someone other than Dean. (Don't shoot me!)  Claire might not worry me so much if she was not on a self-destructive path. She hooked up with two strangers who encouraged her to participate in bashing a man's head in. The fact that they thought that was a good idea says a lot about their character. When she left them, she insisted on hitchhiking even though she had recently been rescued from being raped. Something will have to change before I am happy with Claire's story line. But...I do like to see Castiel's attempts to help her.

The Mark of Cain is still a mystery to me. I probably should have watched those episodes several more times to fully understand them.

It is time for the fans to let TPTB know we do not like a weak Crowley. We want the villain that we hate to love, but cannot help ourselves.
