This week's episode looks like a lighter in tone feature, with Dean being turned into a 14-year version of his present self. Something about Hansel sending children to a witch? Huh? Watch, rate and discuss here.

Sounds interesting. Wondering if Dean will disappear and then return as a teenager. I guess I will have to wait to find out.

Here's the preview of "About A Boy" with teen Dean. Sam looks puzzled! I'm not too sure about a Hansel and Gretel episode, but I'm going to watch.

I enjoyed the episode. Although Dean was turned into a teenager, it was not a silly episode. It tied in with the witchcraft-Rowena storyline. It also examined the possibility of second chances and starting over. Maybe one day Dean will get a chance to start over and forgive himself. Now we know if someone can shave a couple of years off of Dean, he can live without the Mark, but I did not get the impression that is how it will be resolved. I think young Dean did a good job of being Dean. Sam was very concerned and wasted no time searching for Dean. I think it was nice that Sam told Dean he wanted him back, even with the Mark. I thought watching Dean shove the witch into the oven might disturb Sam and Tina, but they did not seem upset about it. And I am sure Sam does not want to be responsible for "raising"14-year old Dean and people referring to him as Dean's father . The “you can drink in about seven years” comment was funny. Last week it was “Oz”; this week was “Hansel and Gretel”. Other shows are doing it so now its Supernatural’s turn.

Bloody awful. I don't know where to start. Makes last week look like Academy Award material.
Echoes of A Very Supernatural Christmas. (But THAT episode was actually good)
HOLY CRAP! THIS SUCKED MAJOR MONKEY BALLS!

I enjoyed many parts of the episode. Didn't quite get how "Hansel" chose his victims. One would have thought the homeless guy was an obvious choice, but the drunk tossed out of the bar got nabbed instead. The kid who played teen Dean was outstanding. He nailed Jensen's "weary of the world" look and I thought he held his own with Jared's Sam. Sam's reactions were all priceless especially his "this from the guy wearing underoos!" I liked teen Dean's reaction to the MoC missing from his arm and his wish that he might stay young and not have to deal with the mark's consequences, but Sam wanted his big brother back. That was sweet. Or was it just because he didn't like being mistaken for his father? The weakest part for me was in the witch's kitchen. She spent way too much time explaining herself. I loved the fight between Hansel and teen Dean who proved that even though he didn't have grown up Dean's strength, he had his smarts as he was able to get the hex bag off of Hansel's neck. The look on his face as he squeezed the bag was great and Dean's stabbing of Hansel and pushing the witch into the oven were great. The girl seemed happy to be able to get a second chance at her adult life, although sending a 14-year girl off on a bus, by herself to who-knows-where seemed a bit dicey. Dean may be sorry to have the MoC back but at least he was happy again in the driver's seat of Baby. Not sure if this one will be on my re-run list, but it was worth the watch. Hope we get back to some serious story lines as the season progresses. Enough with the light-hearted episodes. Jeremy, are you listening? Please review seasons 1-3. Thanks.

I bet I know who gave it a rating of "1". I enjoyed many parts of the episode. Didn't quite get how "Hansel" chose his victims. One would have thought the homeless guy was an obvious choice, but the drunk tossed out of the bar got nabbed instead. I thought he was magnanimously choosing them because of their lousy childhood…until he turned out to be a serial cannibal. Yeah, that was a good one! I think that was an interesting dilemma. I wonder what it would be like to start over, but retain the memories, good, bad and horrific memories. He would not have to deal with the mark’s consequences, but he was giving Sam TMI about what puberty was doing to him. I was surprised that they believed Hansel in the first place since he was the one who squeezed the hex bag and turned Dean into a teenager. I agree Gretel talked a lot, but I did want to know why they were turning them into children. Law enforcement will be happy to know amber alerts are creating problems for witches. I love it when Dean goes into warrior mode and his expressions make it even better. I have the same issue with Claire going off by herself. Fortunately, the woman in this episode has adult memories so maybe she will not hitchhike with creeps she meets in a pool hall. Yes, he was, but what did you think about the music he was enjoying? I enjoyed it too.

LOL, AA, yup, teen Dean was a bit too talkative about his puberty woes: "No grass on the infield," and "..and I can't control THIS.....it's up, it's down, it's up...."

I really liked this episode, these were so many good moments and even some humor, which has been missing recently.
Sam encourages Dean to leave the bunker, kudos for Sam to get Dean moving again, Dean thinks he is better off in the bunker where he can't be tempted by the MOC but you can't live life in a vacuum and away from everything. It shows how Dean has changed, the pre MOC Dean would never had just stayed put, he would have been out fighting to find a cure for whatever the problem was. This Dean is guilt ridden, and haunted by what he has done and just wants to be his normal self again.
I loved Sam for how he was so supportive of his brother, he looked for him, he talked to him, and he keeps Dean going, I love his take charge attitude and how he keeps pushing the limits to get the information out of people in order to help him find Dean (bartender). His willingness to accept Dean's thoughts on maybe staying young was sweet. Sam has become so strong for his brother and even for himself I am really enjoying where he is going this year. I know some fans thinks Sam doesn't have a story this year, but I think it is there, and I think it mirrors Dean's in a way. Dean is trying to find a way to either lose or live with the MOC, and Sam is trying to find a way to live with Dean, after years of brother issues. Sam's face when young Dean came in to the room and started walking around and talking was hilarious.
I enjoyed adult and young Tina, I thought she was good for both versions of Dean, I kind of hope they bring her back.
Dean(Jensen) just puts us thru the wringer every week with his facial expressions and his ability to be funny and then so focused on what he is doing. He started off the episode by being down and worried about if he could keep himself in check, then when he was young, some of his old carefree self showed up and it was great, I really enjoyed seeing both young and adult Dean be a little carefree for a while. About the end when Dean killed Hansel and then the witch, wow, he is just so cold when he is like that. I liked that he showed concern for young Tina, thought I was a little worried that they let a 14 year old out into the world with no one to look after her. I liked the little exchange he and Sam had at the end of the episode and then the look on his face when the "song " came on at the end. LOL I am not a Taylor Swift fan but it was funny to hear her song on SPN.
Dean (Dylan) did an great job of capturing adult Dean, his mannerisms and his actions.
I loved the humorous bits, the puberty talk, young Dean pulling the seat up and Sam knees pushed way up, the comment about being able to drink in seven years, and I laughed when the song came on at the end, Sam's face was funny and Dean's little smile was very reminiscent of old Dean.
