Home, New Topic, Help, etc.
They have white on a light gray background. This is not true when I am not signed in. Can anyone change that? I just want the site to look like it does when I'm not signed in. I thought I had chosen that option.

Gosh Kyle, I don't know what the issue is...mine look exactly the same whether I am signed in or not. I have the "Lessa" skin - from what you have described, don't you use that as well?

I just logged out and logged back in, and they both look the same to me. I'm using Internet Explorer. What browser do you use? And are you on a computer or a mobile app?

I've never had a cell phone or even a landline without a cord. I've stayed on longer than usual. I'm going to the church to take down Christmas decorations. If I wasn't doing that I would have signed off long ago.

Yeah, I prefer the Lessa Skin, too. Hmm, well I don't know what it might be, because like I said, mine looks exactly the same no matter. I wonder if it has to do with your graphics/display settings. I don't know much about this stuff, but phrases like "true color", "high color", and "color management" come to mind. Also, have you tried to reduce the brightness, and up the contrast a little? Let me know...

I was seeing the links before I selected my bunny avatar. Now, they're nearly invisible. Yes, I'm here. I told Energizer Bunny about this place before I came here myself, after being told by Santa Claus. I had a really hard time getting in. It knows I'm a bunny. It said I needed to verify I was human, which I'm not. So I saw a red X when I was supposed to see a CAPTCHA. After clicking on enough buttons, I fooled it.

As it appears only you have this issue, maybe it's a problem in your own settings or the browser you use.
Try logging in with another browser?

I would like very much to get rid of IE9 and go back to IE8, but that isn't going to happen. I'm really getting tired of people telling me to change from internet Explorer because most versions of it work fine.

You don't have to lose Internet Explorer to try out another browser to see if it works. I have IE9 and I don't have the issue you are speaking of. Actually, it's not really an issue...

We had no way of knowing that you don't intend to change from Internet Explorer until you said so. That said, I see the links fine with IE. So, I don't see where the problem is. We are simply trying to find a solution.

Sorry, I'm in the habit of ranting when I go on web sites and the whole world wants to tell me to get rid of Internet Explorer.

I think we have all experienced the frustration that can so often come with using computers There is a reason this little smiley exists, and goodness knows I have been there;) Do let us know if you would like us to look into the issue further, Kyle. There might be ideas that other members or staff haven't tried yet.

I'm on Firefox right now and the problem is the same. Except somehow I can read the links. I can't even see them at home and have to guess what's there and where, and can confirm only when the mouse is over the link. Regarding my frustration over being asked to change browsers, of course I realized I had been too harsh and was all set to change what I said when I saw responses. But on another site where I ask for computer advice, some people tell me if I'm so incompetent I shouldn't even use the Internet, and others tell me Internet Explorer is garbage and people shouldn't keep using it if it causes problems, even though I know it's very popular and web sites should just fix their problems. And for me the fix would be worse than the problem since changing browsers could cause me more problems. And those same people see me ask more questions, and tell me I was too stubborn to follow the advice they had given many times before, whatever that was. Add to that the email services that can't fix problems I have had, claiming using another browser would solve the problem, not even bothering to consider there must be others if Explorer is so popular. Just so you'll know, the email problems include not being able to access an entire folder, as if the server is down, which isn't the problem because if I sign into the email service all over again, it's there. They also include the computer simply shutting down because I copied and pasted when the email wasn't plain text. A simple solution is to remember there is a button for plain text--if there is one. Thanks for letting me rant.

Certainly Kyle. Like I said, we have all been there in frustration with computers, and fury over jerky tech-support-snobs. The fact that it is slightly improved compared to your home computer suggests to me that it may be something to do with your monitor settings. Are you familiar with those enough to feel comfortable adjusting them? Upping the contrast, and/or dropping the brightness may help. Keep me posted BTW, I use IE9, and basically like it, too.

We could give brightness and stuff a try. I have no idea how that works.
I should add: when I'm signed out, at least here, the "No PMs" message can't be read easiy.

Ok, do you know what operating system you have (Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or somthing similar)? I can probably help you find the display settings...I'll give it a try anyway...

Hi Kyle, we've figured out what the problem is (MissNiChloe did, actually.)
Each of those buttons up there has an image in it. So, when you disable images, what's left of the text becomes hard to see. That's probably also why the 'new pms' button looks washed out.
We'll look to the support forum and see if anyone else has figured out an answer to that problem.
