So, avast keeps warning me as I'm combing this forum that its detecting a threat, and it's blocking it. I'm not sure if its an image post or somthing from one of the members here, but its happening frequently... Anyone else getting this problem? ![]() Its labeling it as 'dark-flower wallpaper.jpg', saying that's the threat... |

When do you get this? Right when you come to the site? And if so, do you need to log in everytime, or are you having the site remember you?
Wondering if it's adds (shows for guests) you are picking up, or something on the board itself.

It says its in the html:frame-inf or something like that, and it's doing it for every single thread I'm going into it seems. I'm currently logged in and it stays logged in, I think I have it set for the site to remember me. It wasn't giving me this problem yesturday. |

Same thing is happening to me. I've only seen it twice though. I have AVG and I'm running Opera.

Hmm ok not the ads then.
Could you try and update your Avast/AVG?
I looked at the proboards support forums and don't see any mention of a virus since start of december, and that was a glitch.

For what it's worth, my Norton did a full system scan earlier today while I was logged on, and didn't hit on anything. I am not savy enough to know whether or not that is even relevant, but...

I have AVAST too, and I haven't gotten any warnings. But then, I only have the free version, too.
It's definitely an image post. However, I checked and there are several by that name out there on the net. Does Avast give you any info as to where to find the file on the board?

Today is the first time I've seen it. I just ran a scan and all is well. Mine is blocking the threat; just letting me know it's been detected.

Its definitely only on this forum, i'm surfing the web just fine. And yeah, like purple, its blocking the threat, not installing it. Which means anyone who doesn't have proper protection might be getting a virus or something strange from this forum and not even know it. I have the paid version of avast for what it's worth. |

I think its one poster whose posting in different forums, like the cfc, and the discussion on last week's episodes, and stuff, cause I'm not getting it on this thread. Its either their avatar, or sig pic is my guess.

In the CFC, there is a siggy for DeanandSam that isn't working...could that be it?

That's it...when I right click it and look at properties, it is indeed called "dark-flower" I don't think I have the power to do anything about it, though...

Yep, just checked the threads Deanandsam's posted in, that's it. Whatever it is, I hope it's not spreading a virus or causing some sort of problems for people here without them even realizing it. cahtie I've temporarilty removed the signature. Has anything changed on your end? Yep, now I can view threads where deanandsam's posted and no longer get a warning. THat was definitely it. |

Thanks to your alert we were able to track it down to a user's signature, which produced no image, but was a direct link to the threat website. It has been deleted everywhere on this board now, and we've sent a PM to the person who had it, informing them.

I apologize that I caused concern for many posters in that they may have gotten a virus from a picture with flowers I found on google. I had no idea. So I apologize again. But nice detective work!
