Oh my gosh, here we are at the last episode of season 10. It's been quite the season with lots of up and downs and varying degrees of excellence in the season's episodes. The season finale, however, always delivers. Will that delivery cause us to cry all summer long, throw furniture or curse at the TV screen?
Death is back at that could be both good and bad. Good for us and bad for the boys. Watch, rate and discuss:

Maybe I would enjoy that Rowena scene if she did not make our boys look impotent.
I love the chemistry between Dean and Death and am looking forward to seeing them.

I could not tell what direction they were going and I am surprised at what happened. I am not happy but I give them points for a dramatic cliff hanger. .

This is not the 7 DEADLY SINS, NOR THE LEVI's, this is the original
DARKNESS. I DID NOT WANT DEAN TO KILL SAM, let that be said first.
The Darkness spelled out in most bibles. The BEFORE. God came after
and they release THIS ONTO the world. The same world they have been
SAVING for 10 years.

It will be interesting to see in what form the darkness will manifest. Will it be in the shape of a man like the seven deadly sins?
Btw, I am back to hating Rowena.

I was impressed that Rowena didn't let her love for Oscar prevent her from killing him....she is DEFINITELY evil. No question. I love this woman. And I REALLY LOVED how shocked Crowley was at how powerful she was! Surprise! Haha. Hmmm. I was disappointed with how long that scene with Sam and Dean was at the end...it was schmaltzy, an obvious attempt to wring tears from the audience. Sam was on his knees so long....I can only IMAGINE the outtakes there!! It was fun seeing Death again. He's such a junk food junkie. (what, no pickle chips?) So, what the hell is Cas supposed to be? No idea. Red, bleeding eyes.... The darkness looks nearly identical to almost every swarm of demons I've seen in SPN...especially in the S6 finale. I think Jeremy Carver tried a bit too hard to make this episode "shocking" and "spectacular." He's a good writer, but in this case, I think he over-extended himself .Like a banquet with ten flavors of macaroni and cheese, it was good, but somewhat boring in many places. Death is dead. *frowny face* Rowena, I bloody LOVE you!! You are truly bad ass, girl. Soooo wicked. The scene where she completed the spell was AMAZING. I'm going to miss MoC Dean. He was incredibly sexy.

Yeah, I am going to miss MoC Dean also. I was hoping it would carry over into next season, but with a resolution that would keep Sam from worrying so much.
I had not thought about the length of time Sam was on his knees, but it was a long time. Hope they supplied cushions.
Dean turned me against witches because he says they are skeevy and they really irritate him. Rowena was already powerful, and possession of the Book of the Damned made her too powerful. I think Sam lied to her and did not really plan to let her keep the Book but it is too late now.
I love Death and I think it was unnecessary and foolish to kill him. At least they stuck to canon because Crowley said the scythe could kill Death about 5 seasons ago. Did they think anyone would think Dean would kill Sam or that anyone would cheer when Dean killed Death?

Angel, that was not the same scythe used before so that may or may not come into play next year.
Are the reapers INEPT, because no Death, no dying.....
GOD was never killed just went AWOL. I can not imagine what will happen now that Death is supposedly DEAD.
I really loved it up until minute 52. The acting, writing, etc.

I don't think Death is dead, now that I think about it. When he comes back, he's gonna be PISSED. In retrospect, Dean "killing" Death just seemed.....like something thrown in for the hell of it.

GOD and only GOD and the ARCHANGELS can fix this mess. Maybe that's how it will/SHOULD end. God is not dead, he is AWOL and must come back to save EARTH.

I gave it a 4. For the most part, it was terrific and a satisfying way to end the season. It left us with quite a few cliffhangers, the biggest of which is, what is the Darkness? Or, WHAT. IS. THE. DARKNESS? It certainly looks scary enough and Death gave us a little idea of what it is, but since we never heard of it before this episode, it's going to drive us crazy until season 11 starts. And as Jeremy Carver hinted at the end of the episode, things are only going to get worse for Dean and Sam.
What about Rowena? What did she do to Castiel and Crowley? If her "super" hex bag couldn't contain him when he was with Sam, how was she able to flick her hand at him now and stop him cold in his tracks? Or did she plan it that way? Castiel looked like a mad dog. Does manage to kill Crowley with the angel blade?
I guess we all know that Metatron is going to show up in season 11. He's got the demon tablet and he probably knows how to use it.
Like everyone else, I will miss MoC Dean. He was awesome when the writers let him. I hope this means the boys will be fighting together against whatever it is has been let loose.
I wonder if the MoL has any intel on the Darkness.
It's going to be a long summer.

I will be honest I have had to watch this one 4 times to figure out what was happening. It took 2 times to figure out why they had to kill Sam, and it took 3 times to see the tears in Dean's eyes. I gave it a three, it was ok, it had some good points in it, but I was a little underwhelmed overall.
Dean working the case was just so cold and no nonsense, he was so calm while that father hit him, actually kind of frightening.
I really liked Cas and Crowley even thought they didn't get a lot to do. Those two work well together, for some reason and angel and demon or whatever Crowley really is, just seem natural to this story now and it helps to enhance the Winchester world. It is a little baffling how Rowena couldn't kill Crowley with a hex bag last week but this week she was able to make them stand still, though my theory is she has had lots of time reading the codex and the BOTD and has probably ran across a few interesting things in there.
I hope Crowley continues to be back to his old evil manipulative self next year, I like that version much better than the mopey one we had most of the season. Now that Death is gone, Crowley would be a good source of information.
Poor Cas is just so torn by his loyalty to the Winchesters even though he knows things are going to be bad by following a certain course of action he does it because his human family wants him to, I am going to take the rest of my thought to the CFC for that but we all know the Winchesters aren't the best role models.
Sam was not going to let anything stop him from continuing on with the BOTD, he didn't care what would happen. We all know these guys go to the end of the earth for each other and it was nice to see Sam be the one this time, we have seen Dean do it countless times and steamroll over Sam's objections, we have seen Sam try to before and Dean make him feel bad for doing it. Sam set out to do this and he did it, he was desperate, and almost manic at the end but he managed to find a way to take the MOC off of Dean. However I don't think it was all Sam's emotions, or pleading or bringing up Family that saved him in the end, I think it was the actual Mark that saved Sam. Sam tried reasoning, he tried fighting, and he pulled the family card and even though he got thru to Dean some, I still think Dean would have killed him because Dean was ashamed and horrified by what he had done to Cas, and Rudy, and others. When Dean swung the scythe and hit Death, Dean, Death and Sam all acted surprised so I think the Mark "exerted its will" as Death said earlier it did with Lucifer and it hit Death instead of Sam, because death would have sent Dean somewhere where the MOC couldn't be fed. I think the real Dean was in there and it took me to see tears in his eyes to get that emotional connection to that scene, Sam was pulling me towards there but I needed to see it from Dean too.
I don't know how I feel about the Darkness just yet, in a way it seems silly, but it could turn out good.
Aeryn- Cas's bleeding eyes come from a spell that Rowena did early in the season. She put a spell like that on a girl who attacked the guys, but in the end the girl ended up dying from the spell, so I am not sure what this means for Cas. ( I like your avatar) I don't want Cas or Crowley to die, so I hope something happens there that keeps Cas from killing Crowley or dying himself.
I will also miss Demon Dean, he was just so cold and there was nothing that could stop him

I like this theory and it is one I can appreciate rather than Dean killing Death after he called him for help. I will watch the scene again to get better insight on what happened. I have been too disappointed to watch any of it again.
I also think the Codex and BOTD gave Rowena information that made her stronger.
After watching what the CW has done on The Flash, I think they should spend some money on Supernatural and make The Darkness something spectacular.

I just watched again and I enjoyed it much more during the second viewing. I really must thank novemberschild for highlighting Dean's reaction when the scythe struck Death. Dean's shock is so clear to me now and I must have been too disappointed by Death's demise for it to sink in before. I think the episode deserves to good rating even though there are a couple of things I am not happy about. I always enjoyed Dean's snark and I was reminded of it when he was so blunt while talking to the sheriff about the dead girl and the rest of the time while on the case. Poor Rudy - he told Sam Dean was not playing well with others. That was an understatement. I enjoyed Crowley and Castiel's scenes together. They play off of each other quite nicely. Crowley's demand that Castiel call him King and beg made me laugh.

The end...Sam and Dean transfixed as utter evil approaches. Ring a bell? C'mon, how many season finales have ended like that?
Think about it.

Who DIDN'T see Dean "killing" Death? I was bored. This is really the only part that stood out for me: "You will never, ever, hear me say that you, the real you is anything but good" And Rowena killing the one person she loved.. boring. There was no connection to the character, not even proper flashbacks, so the whole scene was lame.

Yeah...Dean going to Hell, Dean going to Purgatory, Sam going to Hell and the angels falling from heaven were thrilling endings, but I guess they should not repeat those. The Darkness would probably have been more effective if it was not similar to the Seven Deadly Sins.

I am shocked that "Once Upon A Time" season finale also released the Darkness. What the heck! Did someone sell that idea to both show runners?

When Sam and Dean die, circa 2025, maybe they can meet God as their spirits travel to heaven. That would be a surprising finale. When the angel arc started and continued, I expected to see God by now, but all we got was his scribe, Meta-jerk!

I'm almost positive Death wasn't destroyed by the scythe.
I have no idea what the Darkness is and how it will play out next season.
How will Metatron factor in?
And Rowena?
I don't think Castiel will kill Crowley with his angel blade.
Why haven't the boys found anything out about the Darkness in the MoL bunker?
I have no idea what the Darkness does to the boys and Baby as it rolls over them at the end of 10.23
Will we ever see Travis again?
How will the demon tablet factor in now that the Darkness is loose?
Now that neither Dean nor Sam are afflicted by possession of some sort, will we get more of them fighting together?
Please?
What do you think?

I do not know what to think but I have some wishes; for example, I wish Death is not dead. Note to self: Check Twitter to see if there is a #SaveDeath campaign. The only thing I remember about the Demon Tablet is that it had information on how to lock the gates to hell. Maybe it has information on locking up all evil, including the Darkness. Metatron might use the tablet as a bargaining chip. The Darkness rolling over the Impala was quite graphic and it would be a miracle if it does not affect them. If they are still in the car, they probably wet the seat. I think the boys need some help - a lot of help - to combat Metatron, the Darkness and Rowena.

I saw somewhere that season 11 will consist of 23 episodes. Let's hope it's a true 23 episodes and not one stupid episode masquerading as a spinoff.
