I am happy that Arya survived her trip across the waters. She is extremely brave for a little girl and also very determined.
Tommen Lannister is the opposite of his brother in personality and loves Margaery. I guess the Lannister children are not all tainted by Cersei.
Stannis asked Jon to ride with him and he would make him Warden of Winterfell. Although that would give Jon his home and birthright, he said he had to stand by his oath to the Night’s Watch.
The Lady Knight also survived and is still with her squire. She is still loyal to the Starks even though the girls have declined her assistance.
I was thrilled when Drogon stopped by for a visit and Daenerys was happy to see her lost dragon, but he flew away again. Dany was hesitant to pat the dragon because her other two dragons were angry the last time she visited them.

Arya is going through training at the House of Black And White and is very frustrated that nothing seems to be happening. She was told she has to ready to be no one and give up her old life. She dropped her personal belongings in the river. She was reluctant to throw away the sword that was a parting gift from Jon Snow so she buried the sword in a cove she created with rocks. I love the way the man mysteriously appears whenever Arya gets ready to do something she should not.
I like Jon Snow and was glad he was voted Lord Commander of the Knights Watch. He had to behead a member who refused to obey his command after he gave his first orders as Commander.
Tommen and Margery get along very well and Margaery has started persuading Tommen to send Cersei home.
Sansa was surprised that the marriage Littlefinger arranged for her was not to himself.
Tyrion complained to Varys the entire trip that he was bored and kept insisting he needed to get out of the rolling cart or he would go crazy.
After Tommen suggested Cersei would be happier at home, she plotted to give the religious fanatics more power so they could hurt Margaery’s family.

5.04 Sons of the Harpy (5-3-15)

Tyrion complains to Jorah as much as he did to Varys, but mostly about lack of wine and Jorah’s silent treatment. Jorah loves Dany and hopes presenting Tyrion to her will lead to her forgiveness.
Cersei uses the religious fanatics to get revenge on the Tyrells. Queen Margaery was also caught in the trap because she defended her brother. The dungeons were cruel places and I feel sorry for Margaery.
Jaime and Bronn’s attempt to rescue Jaime’s sister was almost comical. Jaime has not become a good swordsman with his left hand, but a bit of luck saved his life when the Sand Snakes tried to kidnap his sister. His sister loves her betrothed and refused to leave.
Melisandre told Jon he should ride with Stannis and when he declined, she tried to have sex with him, but he declined that also.
The Harpies set a trap for Dany’s people and her general was killed during the battle. Her most trusted Unsullied was also injured.

5.05 Kill the Boy (5-10-15)

Daenerys arrested the heads of Meereen’s great families and threatened to feed them to her dragons. They were terrified and she did send one into the tunnels. The dragons flamed the man and then ripped him into two snack-sized pieces for them to share. She decided it would be a good political move to marry one of the family members to solidify her position as ruler of Mereen.
In spite of what Theon did when he betrayed Robb and took Winterfell, I hate to see what the Boltons did to him. That was one of the most awful things done on GoT and they have certainly committed many awful acts. Lord Baelish left Sansa at Winterfell and I wonder if he knows how evil and vicious her intended husband is. I thought Baelish really cared for Sansa, but maybe she is just a pawn in his game.
I like Stannis Baratheon because he truly believes he is doing the right thing but I do not trust his seer.
I also like Mormont and am sorry to see he is affected by greyscale. Stannis’ daughter was cured of greyscale even though marks were left on her cheek.
Sam Tarley explained to Stannis that dragon glass will kill white walkers and I hope they stock up on it.

5.06 Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken (5-17-15)
Arya is put to the test. Tyrion and Jorah are captured by slavers. Loras Tyrell is judged by the Sparrows. Jamie and Bronn face the Sand Snakes. Sansa marries Ramsay Bolton.

When Arya was being tested, Jaegan would hit her when he detected she was lying. I remember I was shocked when Arya left The Hound to suffer because I thought they had reached an understanding. When Arya said she hated Sandro Clegane (The Hound), Jaegan hit her each time she said it and told her it was a lie. I was happy to hear that. When Jaegan allowed her to see the many faced God, I was surprised by what she saw.
Tyrion is having all sorts of adventures. He and Jorah were captured by slavers. Tyrion was able to talk his way out of being castrated and killed. He also spoke up for Jorah.
Cersei’s plan worked well and Loras Tyrell was arrested and judged by the Sparrows for buggery.
Sansa agreed to marry Ramsay Bolton and he forced himself on her after commanding Theon to watch. Theon cried while he watched Ramsay hurt Sansa.

5.07 The Gift (5-24-15)

Jon heads east as trouble begins to stir for Sam and Gilly at Castle Black. Sansa asks Theon for help. Tyrion and Jorah are sold as slaves. Cersei savors her triumph over the Tyrells as new plots are developed in the shadows.
Sansa told Theon Ramsay keeps her locked in the room all day and hurts her every night and asked for his help. That did not work out as planned and a woman who offered to help Sansa was skinned alive.
After Jon rode off to talk to the wildlings, two of the watchers tried to force their attention on Gilly. Sam defended her and they beat him up until the wolf came to his aid. After Sam’s heroic attempt, Gilly became intimate with him and rocked his world.
It was endearing to hear Daenerys giggle and laugh like a young girl as she discussed marrying Hizdhar. Her lover offered to marry her but they both knew that would not help her to achieve her goal. While Dany reluctantly watched the fighting in the pits, suddenly an awesome warrior entered the ring and knocked the contenders out without trying to kill them. Jorah presented himself to her and said he brought her a gift. The gift was Tyrion.
Lady Olenna talked to the leader of the Sparrows and asked him to release her grandchildren. He would not even consider it. King Tommen is heartbroken and his mother lied to him about trying to help Margaery. After Cersei visited Margaery to gloat over her misery, the leader of the Sparrows threw her in the dungeons too. First time I have seen her plan truly backfire.

Something I never thought I would see: Cersei slurping water off of a dirty concrete floor.
Tyrion is still a favorite and he definitely has the gift of a smooth tongue. He saved Jorah from execution, but what Jorah really wants is to spend his final days near Dany.
I enjoy watching Jager and Arya during the training sessions. It seems she is being trained to be an assassin. Either that or she is being tested to see if she would kill if instructed to do so.
The battle with the white walkers was thrilling, scary and devastating. Will the giant walk all the way to the wall?
Arya was always my favorite of the Stark girls, but I never wanted to see Sansa hurt. She now knows Theon did not kill Bran. It has been a long time since they talked about Bran. Trying to remember – is he living in a tree?

Are you caught up? If not, don't read. That was the worst thing they've ever shown, well pretty much up there when theon killed those two farm boys. And . . .it's not even in the books so what is the point?! sheesh I had to take a break from watching the show. Poor child. I wonder how davvos will react when he finds out. I hope he doesn't stay with stannis after that .

Thanks for the warning. I have not watched because my daughter is way behind on the episodes and she is home with an injury. As soon as she returns to work, I will watch.

I often wonder if all of that stuff was in the book so thanks for letting me know they made that up. For me, the best part was the final scene with Jorah, Daenerys and the dragon, although I doubt that was in the book either.
