Hey gang! Long time and all that. It's been a busy year, and not even over yet, LOL. It seems like every time I clear off my to-do list, I get an email or a text with the guys needing something else. But it's all good! I enjoy being busy, and having lots of different stuff to do every week.
If you've not already been driven crazy and muted me on twitter (ha!), then you've probably seen all my tweets about the Supernatural Fandom Movie! It all started early last spring, when Jason connected with Mitch and Clif Kosterman, to bring our Frostbite Pictures team in to help with their film project. Lend expertise and helping hands with the pre- and post-production. There were 42 HOURS of footage to catalog, so that was a situation of divide and conquer. We had to watch and log every video clip, so our editor Ian could group everything into an organized framework, and have an easier time piecing it all together into our 10 episodes, and then the feature film itself. I hope you guys got to see the trailer! I wasn't planning on going to VanCon, but the guys wanted me there, and Clif buys me a Copper ticket....and I'm the "Special Guest" along with Jason to the first annual VanCon PubCrawl, how can I say no to that, bwah! Even tho I don't drink, it was a fun night, 6pm until 3am - that's when Jason and I decided to call it quits and took a cab back to the hotel. And the party continued on, I was amazed by how full of life that city is, even in the dark wee hours of a chilly, drizzle-filled night.
The trailer is on the new website: www.spnfanmovie.com --- and if any of you are so inclined, the IndieGoGo campaign has three days left! Big things & people planned for the VIP Parties in LA and Vancouver, my friends. If you get my unsubtle hint, hehe /x/11945387#/
And now we're going to start ramping up towards DemonX! Filming for sure will be the week of the US Thanksgiving, and either the week before or after. I split the difference and booked my flights from Nov 19th to Dec 2nd. Almost two weeks! And if it's anything like last year, it will be days of very intense work for prep and production. Lots to do! When we shot the trailer, I was helping load and unload the trucks, make runs to William White and Acme, picking up everything from CO2 canisters to stuff for set dec. If I'm going to be there, I'm not going to be sitting around looking pretty! I'm going to shoulder whatever load needs to be lifted, carried, hauled, set up and/or broken down. And in between that action, have my camera and phone ready to take photos and do social media. There's always something to do on a working set!
Jason just sent the scripts this past evening, and man....am I looking forward to this. VERY much hoping to finally get my chance to be a dead body in a scene! Looks like there will be a few opportunities available, muahhahaha. And I'm even more hoping Osric will be the one to kill me! Wouldn't that be too cool. Killed by SPN's Prophet of God, too funny. But in DemonX, Osric will be Evil with a Capital E! He's our Damien, and I know he's gonna have a blast being a 100% wicked bastard.
So...Fandom is cycling from campaign phase into promotion & sales phase...and E06 is going to debut at my very own JaxCon in January! That's the "Giving Hearts, Helping Hands, The Family Business" episode. I came up with the general title, trivia: it's my own little reference to my favorite graphic novel series "Elfquest" (Head, Hands and Heart.)
November is filming DemonX in Vancouver, then JaxCon in January, March is back to Vancouver for the 3rd annual Vancouver Web Fest, April is back to Vancouver again for the big VIP Party and Screening of Fandom Movie, then out to LA at the end of April for the VIP Party and Screening there....geez the airlines are going to start to know me personally, LOL! I may not do both parties, but if I have to choose I'm picking the Vancouver one. For....reasons. See above for my other unsubtle hint. BTW: I designed the cast invites! My art is in the hands of all the cast! I love it. Too cool.
Below are a few pics from VanCon. Us sitting behind the stage, waiting for our turn while Louden Swain was up, and then the standing-O we got after the trailer debut. What an amazing moment! So emotional! It looked like half the auditorium was in tears. I know Clif and Mitch were! And Jason too, I caught him brushing his eyes. But they deserve all that cheering and applause, the work they put into the project and the emotional content from all the cast and fan interviews....it is truly a one-of-a-kind love letter to all of us.
Also a pic of Jason, Mitch and Clif as we met with the gals from Reel West Magazine, for an interview. And since I can't remember the last time I checked in here, a pic of me and the wolf Damu from last year's webfest, me sitting on Crowley's Throne, Dean's bedroom in the MoL, and me, Dan Payne (aka Divine, "Beast" from Disney Descendants and the angel "Abner" from SPN) and Suzette - Dan's the one wearing the big hairy spider.
I took a bunch of photos at the studio, when we were there to get the equipment we were borrowing to use on DemonX. Really fun to walk around the sets, see all the detail that goes into them up close and personal.
CHEERS, ya'll!
