Jeremy Carver said we should look at episodes 1 and 2 as a single episode. So let's discuss after the episode airs. K?

Okay. I am excited, lined up some snacks, a pillow and a crying towel. Two minutes to go.

Did anyone else laugh when they saw who the exorcist was?

Yes, Anti, I had seen the previews that showed Crowley in the collar, but didn't know how it would play. Hee-hee. Glad Sam found a way to cure himself and others of the DI (Darkness infection). Seems like the boys will be able to cure a lot of people if that works every time. I'm wondering why Crowley waited around the house for Dean to arrive before checking the baby. Did he just want to wait for Dean to find out she had the mark? Creepy that the baby "likes" Dean and stopped crying when he was there, and that Dean's first instinct was to stop Crowley from hurting her. Is that how bound he is to the Darkness? Yikes! That gonna cause some major problems when it comes to fighting this. When Crowley opened the van door and offered the Darkness some "candy" I was shocked! Plus, she is aging rather quickly. Poor Hannah! But those other two angels were really horrible. Let's hope his finding his way to the MOL lair provides him with a safe haven until he gets cured of Rowena's spell. And the MOL bunker still looks trashed from when the Stynes were there. That's gonna take some time to clean up even if Dean doesn't get his "maid with the uniform and big......" This season has started off pretty well. I'm looking forward to next week even though the preview shows us that Rowena is back. Your thoughts?

I really enjoyed the episode and I can see why we are to view episodes 1 and 2 as one continuous episode. I like it when Sam uses his intellect to solve problems. Sometimes they seem to forget to let him use those skills, but he did a great job in curing the DI. For a scary moment, I thought Sam was either going to set himself on fire or swallow a flaming marshmallow doused with holy oil. Although I am glad Dean did not confront Sam while he was infected, I wish he knew what happened. Too many secrets continue to pile up. I was continuing to hold onto hope that Death would return, but Bobbie, the reaper, killed that hope. Yes, Dean is securely bound to the Darkness and Crowley is now aware of that. No matter how much they deny it, there is still a love-hate relationship between Crowley and Dean. Dean is so sexy, both devil and angel are in love with him. Crowley is so darn evil but he still makes me laugh. Offering the Darkness candy was rather clever. What will happen if Sam and Dean are in the presence of the Darkness at the same time? I did not want Hannah to die. Thank goodness, Castiel made it to the bunker. Heck, if Sam can find a way to cure the DI, then he should find a way to lift Rowena’s spell There have been very few characters that I did not enjoy and Rowena continues to be one of them. I understand the role she is playing and I should be at least slightly amused, but I am not.

Hello, I really enjoyed this episode, it was much better than last week. I almost never say this but I enjoyed the pacing and editing in this episode, I loved how they wove everything together and it was back and forth between the different storyline, sometimes it is rather clunky, but it was great this time. Yea for smart Sam! I am so glad he got to show his intelligence and work things out and come up with a cure, though it does make you wonder is it permanent or temporary? Regardless, I loved his prayer in hopes of it being answered, and his tenacity in wanting to save people. I love it when they show his caring for all life and not just him and Dean. I do think that he and Dean will have more of a talk and they will both tell each other what really happened while they were apart, they usually do in time, they aren't good with the quick talks. I liked Bobbi the reaper, she seemed like a no-nonsense entity but maybe she will end up having a soft spot for the Winchesters, most supernatural beings do. Crowley was just hilarious, and menacing when it was needed, did you notice how he hung back every time they went in a room, like he wanted to see what would happen to Dean before he came in. He may have said he wasn't their friend, but he sure did spend a lot of time talking to Dean. I think he believes he can control or form a partnership with Amara/Darkness but I think he is fooling himself and that will go south on him. Dean- I love how he will fixate on a person or cause and just won't stop till it stops, but he should know by now that it isn't going to work out like he wants it to. But I do think it is wonderful that he and Sam despite all the heartbreaks, and awful things they have been thru and endured they still fight, and they still care. I am glad to see that he was trying to get a hold of Cas while he was "busy". Poor Cas, We all knew that wasn't going to be any fun for him, his angelic family was awful to him, again, and he had to go to his real family for help and comfort. Too bad Cas and the guys can't stay in the bunker and never come out but for cheeseburgers and beer, they are all so gluttons for punishment and everyone treats them so bad, I feel sorry for these guys, and would like to see them catch a break once in a while. I was sorry to see Hannah go, I wish Cas could have one angelic friend, at least Hannah was kind of nice to Cas. I admit I was a little disappointed in last week and was wondering if SPN would just become another show for me, but they brought me back this week and I am excited to see where this season takes us. Woo Hoo!!.

That's interesting. I liked last weeks better than this one. I liked the skewed reality feel of that episode. This one was good too.
I loved Sam's story. The prayer for Dean. The vision. God may be helping Sam but he sure isn't being nice about it. Or was that a message from Lucifer?
Billie was my favorite part of the whole episode. And what did she mean by the "Empty"? Is that a prophecy for what is to come for Sam or Dean. Don't like the sound of that.
I love that Crowley always thinks he can control forces stronger than he is. It never works Crowley just never.
Dean really needed to protect that baby. He was in uber drive about it when he saw Crowley as a threat. Come on Dean you had your shot why didn't you kill him? You know he is past saving right?
What did Hannah want with Sam and Dean? To punish them? I can't figure out what the end game was for torturing Cas. BTW I don't like torture scenes so it just didn't work for me.
I'm glad that TFW is back at the Bunker. Re group and go find Rowena now.
Thanks for your review. Seems like this season is off to a great start.

I did notice that, but with all that was going on, I did not focus on it. Also, SoCal mentioned that Crowley, the exorcist, waited for Dean to show up instead of immediately going to the baby. Crowley was pretty cool during the encounter and he knew the "baby" had walked away but he did not tell Dean. I think "The Devil You Know" is safer to deal with than a new King of Hell, especially when that devil has a soft spot for you. Does anyone have an interpretation of Sam's vision. I am going to watch the episode again, more slowly, and will probably see things that I missed.

Anti, I do have an idea of what Sam's vision meant (my own opinion) but not sure that you would want to know. I think it would be great if Sam could figure out how to break Rowena's spell, the codex is still on Sam's phone right? or some part of it, couldn't they use it to work on the spell???
SoCal, that is a good point about Crowley waiting on Dean to show up, do you think that Crowley is looking to see what is going on so he can figure out how to manipulate people later on?
Cheryl- I am over the torture scenes also, I think we have had enough of those to last for a while, but I did notice in a promo or the 5 minute preview for S11 that it looked like this season would be more brutal than normal, or maybe it was just me.

I enjoyed watching the episode again. The Impala saw some action! Dean spun her into a U-turn and burned rubber on a wet, slick road to get to his Dark Child.
“O Death” has been a favorite song of mine ever since it was used to introduce Death. The reaper who sang it has a very pretty voice. When she sang the words “Oh, what is this that I can’t see with ice cold hands taking hold of me”, I could see a shadow hand touching the dead man’s hand. It was interesting that Bobbie said Death thought the Winchesters’ many deaths and coming back was funny. It is not funny that she said the reapers will not let that happen again. The “Empty” sounds much worse than Purgatory.
Sam’s prayer for God to help Dean expressed their need to know there is hope. That is important because they suffer too much to continue without hope that their fight means something. After seeing the vision again and realizing that it is clearly a reminder of his time in hell, I think Lucifer is trying to get through to Sam.
During Castiel’s torture scene, the request for the Winchesters’ location did not come up until Hannah asked where the Darkness was located and she asked if Sam and Dean would know. I do think their primary goal at first was to find Metatron. Castiel looked downright vicious when he stabbed Efram.
