Slow to start, but a pretty good ending.
Didn't really get the tie-in to Lizzy Borden, except for the fact 4 people were killed with an axe in her old home. Turns out it had nothing to do with Lizzy Borden (so why did they have to make the first male killed to be a descendant of hers?).
The guy who played Len was pretty good - first just a creepy guy taking pictures at the house, then a soulless killer who really wants to understand what has happened to him.
Liked how Amara was woven into the story, but i wonder why she left Hell to go to the Lizzie Borden House to find souls to steal. Again, the Lizzie Borden tie in wasn't very good.
Liked the ending with Amara smiling at the Impala as it drove off and promising Dean she would see him soon.

If you're talking about Len, he was going to turn himself in and claim that he was responsible for all the deaths. That way he would be in prison and less likely to continue to kill people on the outside.

I felt sorry for Len, he seemed like a really good guy, I am glad to see that Dean didn't want to kill him. Maybe Sam's willingness to help and determination in things be different and they save more people is going to affect Dean more and more and he will not be as quick to shoot.
It was an ok episode, the writing by the new writer did seem ok and kudos for doing some research and tying in Sam's serial killer interest. It did seem as if they got right into the story and these wasn't a lot of wasted scenes or dialog. I have enjoyed seeing a little more humor this season and seeing the guys more on the same page. I did wish Dean would have come clean with Sam about Amara/Darkness at the end when they were talking, it would have been a perfect time for him to tell Sam what he felt when he was with her.
I saw a comment on another site and I think I agree with it, that the writing seems better this year and so far most of the episodes seem better, they thought that maybe because Singer has stepped back, that Carver is able to run the show and control the overall storyline better now. I have always felt that some of Singer's storylines were bad, and the fact they won't get rid of the bad writers does make you wonder how much he hampered the scripts. I read an interview with him and he thought the Amelia storyline in S8 was great, I almost never saw any good comments about that story.

I think they are trying to continue with the urban myth concept that we saw in early episodes.
I have spending a lot of time trying to get the updated Genie to record programs correctly and completely forgot to post about this show. I did watch it when it aired though.
Amara might visit a lot of places that reeked of pure evil out of curiosity and perhaps something more. I wonder if she and Crowley parted on good terms.
I liked the reference to Castiel binge watching "The Wire". I did the same thing recently.
I like the guys getting along well.

Anti, I enjoy them tying in urban legends, but this time the urban legend had nothing to do with the actual story. Back in the early seasons, that wasn't the case. But, like you, I do enjoy watching Dean and Sam fighting together and not each other!
