I thought this was a sweet, kind of fun episode, but it was also emotional and brought back some small moments that were from past episodes that struck a chord with me.
I thought the overall story was ok, I thought there were more little emotional things that showed me that for this episode and maybe since the beginning of this season, they are paying more attention to their past history.
I agree with all of you, the episode made me laugh out loud, it brought up more questions, and yes, Sully reminded me of Cupid with his sweet nature and only wanting the best positive things to happen.
Sully and Sam had such a great connection- I loved that Sully's sole concern was for kids and what was best for them, I am happy that Sam had a "friend" that he could talk to, and that cared only the best for Sam. I thought the moments when Sully talked with Sam and encouraged him, and was staying strong for Sam were great. Sam was so vulnerable then, and it was great to see Sully encourage Sam and to just listen to him, Dean is so busy trying to sweep everything under all the time, he doesn't listen to Sam in that way.
I hope we see Sully again.
Sam and Dean as trauma counselors, nice to see them "be and dress" as something else was a nice change of pace.
Why was Sam up so early? It was funny he was so sleepy it took him a moment to realize things were off in the kitchen.
Little scenes and continuity items I noticed.
Dean asking- Are you having a stroke? Dean telling Sam to come to the library now, and Sam putting his head down and walking like a scolded child to the library. Hearing the Winchester family music a couple of times during the episode.
It was great to see young Dean-Dylan Everett is a great young Dean.
Young Sam talking about his broken arm ( I think it was S9 when Sam and Dean talked about that?)
Young Sam getting off the phone with John and saying he was going on a hunt after all, and scooping up the army guy and Legos in his hand and putting them in his bag.
I thought the funniest part was when Sully and the guys were in the little girls bedroom with Sparkle all over and the mom wiping blood on her face and Sully telling Sam- It's on her face Sam, It's on her face, she has Sparkle on her face.
Questions- Why were they up so early? Where is Cas? SoCal, I wonder what was the point of the Demon tablet if they aren't going to use it? Why would John have young Sam take a bus by himself across the country?
Why didn't Sam and Dean offer to clean up Sparkle, and what about the blood in the water after they got the mermaid out?
