"Galavant" is hilarious. King Richard doesn't need comedy lessons. He's the funniest character on the show. And Weird Al and Ricky Gervais are on next week. Actually, Galavant himself isn't all that funny. But seeing him reduced to a lowly squire, and his squire treated as a hero, and obviously Jewish parents--now THAT'S funny. The series seems to have been made as a half-hour comedy with eight episodes.

I forgot to mention "Glee" is back. Sue Sylvester is a villain worthy of "Once Upon a Time" or even " Galavant". Absolutely evil. And yet the adorable Rachel Berry is going up against her. And Santana, Brittany and Quinn looking hot in cheerleader outfits were right there to help her.

Sue is nice again, but Becky (who has Down's Syndrome) is nasty. I haven't had time for "Galavant" yet but with Weird Al and Ricky Gervais it's bound to be good.
I was watching a different TV when I saw the ad for the show that allowed me to push three buttons and get a Season Pass. It's a good thing, because that's the TV where I can be holding the remote at all times. This show is impossible to watch without doing that. With the other TV, I have to get up a walk to where I keep the remote (I'm used to pressing buttons on the VCR which is much closer) but there's no place to put a remote near that one.
"Undercover Boss" is a show I can watch without going back too much. I also saw the part of the movie "Bridesmaids" that I missed. At least I think so. I didn't act quickly enough last time when the TiVo decided to switch to the CW affiliate's 10:00 news, which I was already taping on the other machine!

From "What Do You Watch" thread. I agree that "Galavant" is hilarious. The lyrics to the songs are both funny and outrageous. I always watch TV with closed captioning and that helps me to really appreciate the lyrics. I think the king and the chef are the funniest recurring characters.

I have to back up constantly. I could not watch "Galavant" live. And I'm lucky I saw the ad for it on the TiVo that I watch while holding the remote. It's the only way.
I think "Fresh Off the Boat" will be really good. I've never seen so many shows with my name in them. First, last, and the nickname everyone uses.

I looked on the wrong network for another show but was pleasantly surprised to see they made all episodes of Galavant S1 available so we can see them before the show returns the first week of January. I watched episodes 6, 7 and 8 and was thoroughly amused. They tossed in some surprises in the final episode. I am glad it is returning soon.

From "What Do You Watch" thread.
Hint: the entire naughty episode title did not show up on my TV screen becuse it was too long. Do we not have a "Galavant" thread? That's a hard show to watch but very rewarding. I couldn't remember a lot of the details but they started coming back to me. The big problem is, especially with the accents, I have to rewind a lot in order to get details I missed but it is very funny.

Do we not have a "Galavant" thread? I was asking myself the same thing as I watched the show last night. Let me see what I can do.

Season 2
Way back in days of old/There was a story told/About a hero known as Galavant. When we last left Galavant in season 1, he was on a ship full of pirates with King Richard sailing off into the sunset. His newly discovered true love Isabella had been locked away in a padded princess dream house awaiting an arranged marriage to her 11-year-old cousin. In the castle, Madalena and Gareth began to plot.
As season 2 begins, King Richard shipwrecks the entire pirate crew (but not before we get a self-deprecatingly rousing new theme song out of them), our heroes make a gay old pit stop on their journey, and the Queen and Guy Who Sits Next To The Queen land some quality zingers***

I thought the episodes were hilarious. The episodes are only 30 minutes each and we were treated to an hour of entertainment. I love the way they poke fun at themselves as they did in the opening song about season 2 and told people to stop watching football and come back to Galavant.
I enjoyed the Enchanted Forest pub and the coming out jokes, along with the "Off with his shirt" song. That was the prettiest ladies' room ever.
The unicorn and face-time device were also funny.
I love Chef and Jester and all of the other characters.

2.03 Aw, Hell, the King Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered (1-10-16)
“Galavant” was clever and amusing, as it usually is. It was good and I enjoyed it. The lyrics made me laugh, but I did not laugh at the story as much as I usually do. Wormwood, the wedding planner, is an interesting addition, and the crown he placed on Isabella's head growled when her maid tried to touch it.

Isabella's personality changed so much.
It was a hilarious episode. I felt so sorry for Richard.
And we know what war they were talking about.
I like the music regardless of the lyrics. It's hard to hear that music on the radio any more.

Last night's was hilarious.
I'm so glad the wedding planner's "plot" was discovered.
It was amazing the number of coincidences.
I feel sorry for Galavant. I've seen that situation with his father in so many shows. Everyone else loves the man, but Galavant was treated like dirt.
Tall dwarfs and short giants. Of course!

I really enjoyed that episode "Giants vs. Dwarves. It was very funny. The Garden of Coincidence was very cleverly done.
"Love and Death; Do the D'Dew" tonight had some excellent singing. Richard and Bobbie sing very well together. She sounds like a professional singer. Richard acted like a teenager in love. The references to other shows are very popular..."The Princess Bride", "The Walking Dead" and some others.

I like the breaking of the fourth wall. Such as the Save the Date for the invasion January 31. And the concern that Galavant was the star so he shouldn't die.
I didn't like the presence of zombies but I guess they were funny. This isn't The CW. The CW is the place for zombies, vampires and werewolves. Or are there still werewolves on The CW?
I feel so sorry for Isabella not having weapons.

Isabella's parents are worthless, but maybe the zombies will arrive in time to help her.
The "save the date" was very funny.
I thought it was very funny when Gareth said "I love you" while facing the soldiers and they all said they love him too.

I saw in the newspaper TV listings the next one is the finale. That's a shame.

I didn't really have enough time left over yesterday to watch a movie, and yet movies are piling up on my newest TiVo. I was lucky that one didn't actually air, but when I fast-forwarded to see what did air after several half-hour episodes, there was a Panthers special. That explains a lot. I did watch "Narrow Margin" which was quite good. Then it was time for "Grease Live!" but I was an hour late. So by the time I watched "Galavant", it would have required me to stay up past midnight. But I saw the first half, with its cliffhanger. Lots of breaking the fourth wall and some really bizarre comedy, even in what I saw. Richard's best friend is back on Richard's side, which is fortunate.

What an ending! They didn't really continue what they had been doing but managed to wrap up everything in case this isn't renewed.
