I really enjoyed the humor in the episode, especially Dean and Sam's discomfort during "The Talk" at dinner. I am sure John Winchester never had The Talk with his boys. That scene was hilarious and I enjoyed Jodi making those big guys sit there and asking for their input. I was live tweeting and there were mixed reactions from the posters. Most of us enjoyed the episode, but some fans were not at all interested in the girls being on screen. Of course, everyone was happy to see Jodi. I swear Jodi does not age at all. Must be the Montana climate. I had not given much thought to what life would be like with Jodi caring for two troubled teenage girls. I understood Claire's resentment toward Castiel, but her lack of appreciation for Jodi was rather irritating. Dean gave her a good talking to and did not tiptoe around her feelings either. Good for him. It was obvious to everyone that the boyfriend had to be the one committing the murders, but we did not know why. He had good self control to stay committed to the plan considering his mouth was close to her neck a lot. I liked the look FBI Agent Dean gave the boyfriend when he was leaving. For awhile, it seemed like Jodi and the girls were going to die and I was going to be really disappointed, and I am glad Jodi is still around. I need you to tell me if you thought the vamp bit Claire's neck because I certainly thought so. But later, all I saw were bruised streaks rather than gashes. I enjoyed the episode and viewed it as a combination of MOTW and checking on the status of the family. P.S. Misha tweeted "'Cassifer' has a nice ring, but I like 'Lustiel' better." Figures that would be his preference.

I was surprised that I liked this one so much, but I did. Even if it was a MOTW "filler" episode it was good.
I always worry when Jody is in an episode and can't relax until I see the end credits. It is a shame we have to do that about a character but c'est la vie.
I LOVED the supper scene, it was so great. Sam and Dean with blissful looks on their faces eating real home cooked food, and yes they were eating like cavemen. Sam being worried there were no more potatoes. The looks Jody gave them when hoping they would back her up and the awkward, sheepish looks on the guys faces during the conversation, and Dean's what? Dean's look to Claire saying this is fun and Claire laughing back yea, and then Dean looks at Sam and then puts his head down in shame. We need a little more comedy now and then. Poor Jody she needed helped from them.
It was nice to see Sam be the one to talk to Claire, I think we see Sam interact with people more this year and that is great, Sam needs more than just Dean. Sam can empathize with Claire better than most. I was kind of surprised that she didn't ask about Cas, that seemed odd to me. Claire had Grumpy Cat on her bed.
Dean was right to call out Claire for not acting right with Jody. All 3 of the women have gone thru some horrible stuff, and I am sure all those personal issues and demons need time to work themselves out. I actually found the dynamic between them kind of normal. I know people don't like Claire, but she doesn't bother me, I don't think she is anywhere near as annoying as Krissy was.
I did think Sam and Dean took their sweet time getting to the women, I was getting more worried Jody would die. Anti-Yes Claire was bit by the vampire, but it must not have been a bad bite because I didn't see any punctures, but from all the blood it looked bad.
I hope something happens to change Claire's mind from hunting, we all know that is a bad path to go down.

Another stand-alone episode puts Dean and Sam back with Sheriff Jody Mills and the two girls she's taken in: Alex and Claire. Alex seems to be more acclimated to the family life, while Claire still seems to be her old rebellious self, seeing monsters where there are non and not going to school.
Alex calls Dean to tell him about some monsters she's following in Sioux Falls with out informing Jodi who, when she find out why Dean and Sam have shown up at her home, throws her head back in exasperation with Claire and her "monster hunts."
Best part of the episode? The family dinner! With Sam having food hanging from his mouth to Dean chowing down, it's clear they haven't had a home cooked meal in.......forever. Did Sam ever eat the "Elvis?"
Turns out Claire is right about some kind of monster being in town. turns out some unnamed guy Alex led back to her "family" of vampires attacked him and turned him. He's been wanting revenge ever since.
Jody is severely beaten up and she and Claire are taken to an abandoned pool where the boy Alex had been going out with brings her in to his buddy. Dean and Sam finally arrive and take care of the two vamps with some help from Claire.
Alex isn't sure she wants to spend a lot more time with Jody since she doesn't want to be around hunters. Sam tells her other vampires may come searching for her, but she tell him Claire will help prepare her for that.
Dean and Sam take off with some extra home cooked food and the three "Mills" girls are a little more on the same page with each other.
I love any Jody episode. She has a Bobby vibe and I like her interactions with the boys. I was less irritated with the girls by the time the episode ended, but Claire is still annoying. At least at the end she had ditched the clueless make up and had her hair in two loose braids.
The dinner scene was classic. "What?" was all Dean seemed able to spit out and Sam's trying to leave the table was hilarious.
While I liked the episode, I hope we don't have to see any more of Claire or Alex. Of course, that might mean less of Jody, but maybe she could be in an episode where the girls aren't involved.

Nov and Anti -- I seem to remember that just being bitten doesn't turn the victim, he also has to drink the vamp's blood. Remember Gordon bit Dean and he was okay, but when that vamp turned Dean he first cut his own wrist and then make Dean drink it. He didn't even bite Dean.

Hi SoCal and Anti , No Sam didn't eat the Elvis, he said he wasn't going to survive hundreds of monster fights to die from Cholesterol or something like that. Dean and Sam with leftovers SoCal, you are right about the vampire blood.

I think the recent young women who want to out alone to hunt are not destined to survive long. I am thinking of Claire and the deaf woman from a recent episode. Claire is overconfident and there are a lot more monsters than vampires. The Winchester boys had John's journal and John's network. By the time Claire calls for help, it would probably be too late. I did not remember Claire changed her appearance, but that is a good sign that she might be altering her attitude a little. Darn, I also did not see the grump cat. I will check in on the episode again. Me too. I have come to the conclusion that no matter how hard she tries to forgive Cas, a part of her will always resent, maybe hate, him. I thought Alex only fed the pedophiles to her vampire family, but now I understand what she meant when she said she did awful things. That poor man was overcome by blood lust and killed his wife and child. The boyfriend was cruel to her and he seemed to be just mean for no particular reason. So it was not just me that thought by the time Dean and Sam got to the place, one or more of the women would be dead. They can drive 200 miles before a commercial ends, but this time it seemed to take forever. On top of that, they were being so cautious once they got inside, I was yelling at the TV for them to speed up. Me too. I still remember her slapping Dean because he had not kept in touch with her for awhile and I really love the way they are compelled to obey and respect her "requests" like "Stay!" They need that and it was so thoughtful she gave them left-overs for the road.

I remember when Dean drove from the Stynes (after killing them all) to the MOL bunker in the space of a commercial!

drive 200 miles in the space of a commercial. Yep, that is true, Dean and Cas did it in that episode. Louisiana to Kansas in no time flat.

I could never figure out why Castiel couldn't just *snap* Dean back to the MOL bunker.

Heck, I wonder why Castiel drives around in a car when he is solo. Maybe he needs a car in case he gets lucky.
