Well, TWD is finally back. This should dampen any overly romantic St. Valentine's Day shenanigans !

It's always fun until someone loses an eye.

At the entrance to Alexandria, we enjoyed the way Abraham asked "Who's Deanna?" Will asking "Who's Negan?" be the end for him?

My stomach muscles kept clenching and they still hurt. The episode was everything they promised.
Favorite moments for me were:
Bazooka Daryl blew away Negan’s gang. But I am sure there will be retaliation from Negan.
Rick went crazy on the walkers. I was not expecting that at all. Then everyone joining in to help, including Eugene gathering the courage to fight and Father Gabriel being both spiritual and a fighter.
Abraham’s “Who’s Negan?”
Glenn and Enid rescued Maggie. That was harrowing and I was wondering how Glenn would get out of that jam.
The lake fire was spectacular.
Carl's fingers clutched Rick's hand.
Least favorite moment: Enid’s epiphany

Some of the fans on Twitter think Daryl blew Negan up. I guess they do not know what Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks like.

I thought maybe we'd get a glimpse of negan in the last 5 seconds. But I think this was filmed before they cast JDM. I loved Papa Winchester I'm so scared to see him portray this asshat

I feel the same way. I know he was thrilled to play Negan, but I do not want to hate him as villainous Negan.

My thoughts on the TWD premiere? Four words will suffice: Darryl's rocket launcher rocks!Best elimination of a dangerous threat EVER. I knew that stupid kid, Sam, was going to foul up the massed exit from Alexandria. Poor Jessie, first her husband, then her youngest, then herself and then he oldest. But, as for Ron, who else was rooting for him to be put down. And he shot Carl!!!! Glad to see Glenn save Maggie even with naggy Enid in tow. Really glad to see Abraham, Darryl and Sonja turn up in the nick of time to save what remained of our little group. While I felt bad at first that Carol killed the Wolf, I probably would never have trusted him. Rev Gabriel finally made me hate him less. And Darryl saves the group with his Lake of Fire!! Epic episode. I've heard we won't see Negan until the last episode, and while I am dying to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan, I am less exited to see him as evil incarnate. I remember when Papa Winchester was possessed by Yellow Eyes. Morgan makes a terrific bad guy. I'm torn. Don't eat me.

SoCal I am glad you did not wait a week to watch the episode and Daryl's rocket launcher rescue was probably worth losing an hour of sleep. I think Negan's scout (Christopher Berry) should get some recognition for making the scene interesting. The way he taunted them and his diabolical comic gestures kept me wondering what he would do. I probably would have giggled if he was not threatening Daryl, Sasha and Abraham. A lot happened and Michonne was an awesome part of it. While Rick and others stood in shock, Michonne slid her blade into Ron to stop him from shooting one of the Grimes. It had been a while since she used her blade and it was exciting to see her in action when they fought the horde. The Alpha Wolf was starting to change. After Carol shot him, he still tackled a walker to protect Denise and yelled at her to go. I agree he could not be trusted because even though he wanted Denise, that does not mean he had converted to being like Morgan. I wonder how losing their alpha will affect the wolf pack. When Carol told Morgan she should have killed him, he responded "You can't." I wonder if that is how Morgan will end...dead at Carol's feet, while she smirks and walks away.

OMG! I would never have seen that car if not for your post. I saw it in the clip when he zoomed in, then I played it on the TV screen and it comes into view when the dude changes his mind about killing Abraham and Sasha. I had to stand as close as 6" in front of the TV to see it. Look past the farthest guy on the right, past the road sign, above the ridge, looks like a white car pulls into view.
