I actually celebrated on Sunday, when my aunt turned 84 (she doesn't look or act anywhere near that age) and my uncle's sister turned 87 (she looks it and acts like it). My cousin's husband turned 60. So we had lunch and a cake for all of us.
I also received a gift card which I used on my birthday at Penney's. It took a while to find something that would cost the right amount, and even then it was buy one get one half off, but I didn't need two or have the money. I also got some cash for my birthday but didn't bring it all, so I had just enough to get a washcloth too. Only the cash had fallen out when I took most of it out the previous day, so I had to go out to the car. All the time that it took contributed to my almost getting wet.
And the day before my birthday I got some new shoes at the mall where I get most of them. I didn't use birthday money, but since I use that for ordinary spending, we could call that a present. I decided to go ahead and get underwear where it was cheap because I knew Penney's didn't have good quality underwear. I found other shoes but most were not in my size, and since it was buy one get one half off, I'll just wait.
