With only 3 episodes left, I think we're in for an Amara filled few weeks.

This is my first reaction immediately following the episode.
I never, ever, thought we would see the day that the show went in this direction. They answered questions, settled longstanding arguments, and gave us a peek behind the veil of God's mysterious absence.
God created the earth. God also created worlds that Amara destroyed. Then his greatest creation disappointed him time and time again. He no longer wanted to watch us destroy ourselves. In spite of my detesting Metatron, I think he did a good job interpreting what he needed to say to push God into action.
I thought the episode was going to be about Amara, but that was not the main focus for me. I do wonder why the fog was white this time. Is that significant? Amara keeps track of Dean and it seems she wants to be the only one in his life. So, who was the deputy pointing the gun at? Amara does not want Dean to die so that scene was a little confusing to me.
Two things I loved, loved, loved!
Chuck playing the guitar and singing.
The glowing amulet.
Let’s make it 3 things…Dean’s expression of wonderment throughout the resurrection scene and reunion.

I too thought the episode would be about Amara, but thankfully she wasn't in this one, (not really.) I was wondering why Metatron was the one that Chuck was speaking to, but then as I watched it, it made sense, of all the beings in creation Metatron knew God best of all. In a way it was great that Metatron had a chance to atone for his past behavior and shake Chuck out of his lethargy/cowardice?, whatever it was it seemed to work. I have to admit, I felt for Metatron when he was speaking so passionately to Chuck, his fighting for humanity was odd, yet reminded me of how Cas always fights for humanity. I found it interesting that exposure to the fog could make anyone become negative and depressed and make them want to kill. It was hard to hear but hearing Sam tell Dean that he knew they wouldn't make it and Dean would leave him for Amara, well that was heartbreaking. Even more heartbreaking was seeing Dean deliberately breath in the fog trying to be infected so he could die with Sam. He seem confused as to why that didn't happen. I loved that Dean didn't leave Sam, he was going to stay with him till the bitter end, no matter how it worked out. Dena and Sam don't have much in their world so faith in each other, love and loyalty is about all they have. I loved, LOVED seeing the AMULET again, it was great seeing that it had not been thrown away, not really, it had been kept safe all these years. And Yeah to getting a few answers this episode, it is about frigging time. At the very end seeing Chuck come to the guys was sweet and made me want to see the next episode now! Edit, I almost forgot - Hearing Chuck say that Revolution didn't work out made me laugh out loud.

Edit, I almost forgot - Hearing Chuck say that Revolution didn't work out made me laugh out loud. During that dialogue, Sam gathered enough strength and willpower to say he did not mean it. I thought that was extraordinary. Sam: You're gonna choose Amara. Over me. Over everything. Dean: Sam, No! Sam: I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. I can't fight this, you gotta go. You gotta get out before you get infected. Before I hurt you. Dean: No. I'm not leaving you, ever! I felt so much sadness for Dean when he deliberately inhaled the fog, but I was also stunned. I have watched the final scene 5 times and I am not finished yet. It makes my heart sing and I felt my enthusiasm for Supernatural return. Oh yes, I giggled at the comment about "Revolution" also.

Some more observations I thought were interesting:
Metatron is arrogant but not all bad…he did give the food to the dog.
Chuck’s mug said “World’s Greatest Dad”.
I have enjoyed the relevance of the music to the scenes as when “King of Kings” played when Metatron was able to see God’s true form.
I smirked when Chuck said Metatron will never be an angel again.
The guys still play pranks on each other. Dean sprinkled beer on Sam’s shirt to iron out the wrinkles.
Doomsday prediction: It’s all going away, but not you Dean.
That gray duct tape must be the same brand I bought because it peels away too easily. They should have used Gorilla Tape.
Did anyone else notice that when Jared was gasping and falling to the floor that the baby started crying and was really reaching for him?
If I ever look at my cellphone and see “signal loss” in huge letters, I know something horrible is coming.

Anti, Thanks for posting that little bit of conversation between Dean and Sam, I had trouble hearing that, the sound on the TV went out for about 30 seconds right then and I was not happy, but thankfully the DVR got it and I could hear it after I watched it again. I am more excited for SPN after that one, it was way better than the snoozefest of last week. I did notice the baby crying and reaching for someone. I also noticed that when Dean yelled out at someone, at that moment is when the amulet appeared and Sam got better, and people were healed. I don't think Sam had the amulet the whole time, I think God had it and put it in Sam's pocket at the most critical moment. Sam yelling at Dean about ironing his shirt with beer.

I loved it and I hated it. Beautiful story and everyone's acting was superb, BUT, I just can't wrap myself around the fact that Chuck is God. And if God has shown up, what does that say about the show from this point on?
Loved God laughing and telling Metatron he'd NEVER be an angel again.
Why wasn't God more angry at Metatron for trying to take his place?
Dean sprinkling Sam's shirt with beer to iron out the wrinkles had me laughing and crying. I can remember watching my mom iron and she had a glass bottle with a nozzle on the top, filled with water that she would sprinkle on my Dad's shirts to help with the stubborn wrinkles.
Surprised, but glad we didn't have to see Amara and her low-slung boob dress again.
Loved the return of the amulet. Of course God can turn it off and on. Sheesh!
Loved that Dean wouldn't leave Sam and tried to get infected himself.
Sad to see Sam tell Dean that he knew Amara wouldn't let him die and that he would die alone.
Interesting how the fog seemed more directional than last time.
Really sweet scenes of all the dead coming back to life and Dean's beautiful look as he held the amulet.
I wonder what God wants to talk about?

I don't think Sam had the amulet the whole time, I think God had it and put it in Sam's pocket at the most critical moment. Yep, I agree. But the "someone" Dean yelled at was God and in Dean's usual diplomatic style, he said "Stop this, you Dick!" As you said, at that moment, the amulet appeared...

I liked hearing Chuck say that Lucifer was not a villain. He rebelled, yes, but he was not the villain. SoCal I know what you mean...each time I watch the scenes, I am mesmerized by Dean's expression while he is holding the amulet.

Just saw it last night. BEAUTIFUL! Acting, story, everything. I am now taping new episodes, after ignoring the show for months.
