1.01 Pilot (5-22-16)
A preacher sets out on a mission to make the almighty himself confess his sin of abandoning the world. With his best friend Cassidy, an alcoholic Irish vampire, his love Tulip, a red blooded gun towing Texan, and the power of genesis, an unholy child born from an angel and a devil, Jesse gives up everything to set the world straight with its creator.

I wouldn't watch this anyway, but I don't get this channel.
The local newspaper had an article on this show in its TV section. Whether it was on the web site where I normally find those, I don't know.

Thanks for the article. I saw the premiere and I am now even more curious about the character. I did not know he was going on a quest to have a chat with God. He is in a Texas town that does not seem to have a blade of grass and the people seem strange - just strange.

The first season was one of the most interesting and unique shows I have seen. The second season premieres in four days on Sunday.

Season 2 aired episodes on Sunday and Monday. Preacher Jesse, vampire Cassidy and Tulip are on their way to find God. God is missing and Jesse is determined to find him. The first scene set the tone for this season - a manic car chase followed by mass murder. There is an immortal known as the Saint of Killers determined to kill Jesse and destroy Genesis.

They found God, but did not realize it was God. "Preacher" gives outrageous treatment to well-known characters. For example, they killed Tom Cruise in the first episode and in the last episode, they "redeemed" Hitler; well, it seemed like they had redeemed him. When producers and cast members are on "Talking Preacher", they admit they are surprised at the stuff they get away with, and they do get away with outrageous stuff. The finale showed us another part of Jesse's life when he was younger. There will be more about that in the 3rd season. Cassidy saved his father but realized Denis was out of control and could not be trusted. Cassidy's solution was so shocking I could not believe it for a moment. Cassidy and Jesse's friendship took a bad turn when they were fighting over how to save Tulip after she was shot. That led to another shocking conclusion. This is a fascinating show and I will tune in for S3.
