Looks like it might have some humor. Does not look like something to be taken seriously, but I would watch it for entertainment.

I enjoy movies with teenage heroes and have seen a lot of them with my family. They tend to lean toward positive outcomes and leave the audience feeling good.
At first, I thought this might be a sequel to Max Hedroom(sic?), the one that stuttered, and maybe the kid is his son, but they did not say that.
