This is Us- A new show on NBC and i wasn't even going to watch until i learned that Justin Hartley was in it. How many are watching or have seen any of the episodes? Apparently it's doing very well in the ratings. The show follows 4 people with the same birthday. It starts with each of them turning 36 and shows us how they all intertwine in everybody else's lives. There's a nice little plot twist at the end of the premiere episode that even i didn't see coming.

I've heard if you liked "Parenthood" you will like this.
Problem: they never say it's funny. The other show had Lauren Graham of "Gilmore Girls" and I eventually discovered it had Coach from "Coach". I thought that was Melissa McCarthy, which would have sold me, but that's not her. Plus it's all I can do to keep up with what I have. It DOES have Jess, but that's not a selling point.

I haven't seen Parenthood. Yeah, i wouldn't consider This is Us as a comedic series, probably more of a drama. But it does have some funny scenes.
*keeps fingers crossed someone else watches this*

I always planned to watch this series when the other shows went on break, and I am doing that now.
I am truly enjoying this unique show and I agree that it is a drama, rather than a comedy-drama. It is not at all depressing and it has humor that plays well with the story line. The dramatic scenes wring emotion from me without making me feel bad or sad.
I am watching episode 6 "Career Days" and Kevin's (Justin Hartley) performance when he was speaking to the widow at the memorial service caused unexpected tears to stream down my face. It was awesome.
I love this show and have set aside everything else to watch it.

I am laughing at your spoiler because I feel the same way. They never showed what happened to either Jack or Miguel's first wife. The cliffhanger shocked me.

Justin is an integral member of this show. If he does return to the soap, perhaps he would appear in both shows. I believe whoever said this show is depressing did not watch it. I am glad others gave it a chance and the ratings are excellent.

This is a nice article about the writer/producer, Bekah Brunstetter, and a positive review for "This Is Us".

NBC cut me off after 4 episodes so i started watching on youtube. Then i guess they got smart cuz they're gone now. I'll have to check back later.

The show got several Golden Globe nominations. The broadcast networks are pretty much ignored now.
I also found out another good reason not to watch. This show has JESS!

Yep. They must have a pretty good idea of what they plan to do with the show over the next two years. I am going to watch the latest episode sometime today. I wonder if William will die or will they find a miracle cure, after all. They should send him to Bunker Hill Hospital on "Pure Genius". They would find a way.

I hope William lives he is one of my favorites on the show. I also really like the younger actor who plays him. All around great cast I'm finally caught up. Kevin once again proves he is a major jackass. He basically said he wants to be with airhead Britgirl but is staying with Sloan out of obligation. The flashbacks were great but I don't really care for that doctors backstory. Bore.

I used to think Kevin was selfish, but now I think he is just stupid.
Rebecca was in a super bad mood. Carrying the extra weight of triplets can do that, I am sure. Jack really was the best husband in the world.
The doctor's grief was sad, but he did finally have dinner with the lady he talked to in the supermarket. The fireman was really nice and I am glad he and his wife decided to give their marriage a chance to work.
