I think so There's an interesting walker scene on a highway that might make you want to look away for a moment, but I felt this was a pretty positive, feel good episode.

Good episode. I'm glad it wasn't such a downer. I hope to see a Daryl and Carol reunion soon! ::smiley_love:: Does anyone have any idea what was going on with Father Gabriel ? ? ?

It was a very good episode that showed Rick has changed his mind about the way to deal with Negan. I applaud the way Rick and the Alexandrians responded when Negan’s people showed up looking for Daryl.
The saddest thing for me was the gate closing and separating Daryl from his people. The sound it made seemed so final.
I wonder if Gabriel is with the people who surrounded the group. I do not think he deserted Alexandria. I am just guessing…I think Gabriel left the bible and took the tools because he plans on doing some killing and will not bow down to Negan.
I anxiously awaited Morgan’s response to the question about Carol. Will Morgan and Rick ever mend the breach in their relationship? I hope so.
They put a lot of work into that barbed wire scene. I FF through it; then I rewound and watched it. Exciting.

My guess is Rick is hopeful that the large group will be persuaded to fight Negan. I looked but I did not see the boots that were shown in a previous episode.

Pretty disappointing first episode after a hiatus. What was going on with Gabriel. We haven't seen that much of him in months and suddenly he steals all the food and a car and drives away. Great security they set up there in Alexandria. When the first shelf fell over with an extremely loud bang, you've have thought someone would come running. And it must have taken a while to clean out all that food, pack it into boxes and drive a car close by so he could load and then drive off. AND NO ONE SAW OR HEARD HIM? Come on. Nice to see Rick finally realize he has to man-up and drive the fight against Negan. Was disappointed that Ezekial turned him down. Does he really think the bargin with the devil with hold? Glad that Darryl stayed behind. You knew that the first place Negan would look for him would be at Alexandria. And I really hate that Negan-wannabe. His ever present evil smile just disgusts me. Wonder what will happen with Morgan and, of course, Carol? Will Darryl go to see her? Can he convince her to get involved in the fight? Are there other communities they can enlist? Hope the episodes coming up will be better.

While searching for a missing Alexandrian, Rick and his group encounter a mysterious collective, its inhabitants unlike any they have come across.

The scrapyard was unique and the Scavengers lined up around Rick’s group in the same pattern as the yard. Jadis said they survive by taking stuff. They had been waiting for someone to get the stuff off of the boat so they could take it. Tamiel (Gabriel held a knife to her throat) is the one in the fancy boots who saw Rick drive away with the food. Father Gabriel said Tamiel jumped him in the pantry and made him take the food. I did not notice anyone else was in the car. That is probably one of the reasons he wanted to cut her throat. I enjoyed the fight between Rick and Winslow . Rick must be able to ignore pain when he has to because the spike puncturing his hand looked very painful. Carol and Daryl had a bittersweet reunion.

I wonder if she can fight. They have a large group, but was too scared to get the food off of the boat. Jadis said they would help fight Negan, but I do not trust her.

"New Best Friends" was certainly an improvement over last week's episode. Poor Morgan.....he lost his stick. Poor Richard....he keeps getting popped in the face by that SOB savior. At least the leader of the group seemed to be a little more sympathetic. Darryl is not happy in the Kingdom and seems to have some trouble with the bow. Still trying to get over his treatment by the Saviors. Richard and Darryl want to work together, but Richard's plan doesn't seem well thought out. Was "Katy" his daughter? And he tells Darryl about Carole!!! Richard is reaching the desperation point, but Darryl is worried about Carole. How did Rick and the others find the group in the trash heap? Have we heard of them before? I was confused when that scene started. And that girl leader looked like a Spock wanna-be. How did they know Gabriel was there? Have I missed something? What about Gabriel's tirade? He seemed to be promising a lot from Rick and the Alexandrians. And none of the people talk. They just follow hand commands by girl-Spock. And she throws Rick into a pit! Great way to avoid walkers and the Saviors if they can't climb the trash. And a Darth-walker!!! Will anyone ever die of an infection? Will Rick's watch battery every die? Jadis-Spock and her people seemed dressed for cold weather while Rick and his group were sweating bullets? Ezekial just won't give up on Carole. Who is the fat, jolly Kingdom guy? This Carole is on the receiving end of a cobbler. And then...........DARRYL!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! Rick gives Michonne a kitty!!! And Darryl and Carole have a long, heartfelt talk. I forgot that Carole doesn't know yet about Abraham and Glenn. I'm not sure Carole believed Darryl's lie, but I understand why he did. Shiva likes Darryl!! Really good episode. I hope next week's is as good.

How did they know Gabriel was there? Have I missed something? What about Gabriel's tirade? He seemed to be promising a lot from Rick and the Alexandrians. And none of the people talk. They just follow hand commands by girl-Spock. Gabriel left a clue in a book in the pantry that directed them to the boat that Rick and Spencer had taken food from. We had not heard of them before but we had seen Tamiel's boots and knew someone was watching Rick leave with the food. I think Gabriel was trying to convince those people that it was in their best interest to let Rick's group help them. He was in preacher mode.
