After two rather (in your pollster's humble opinion) lackluster episodes, this one is about a gathering of hunters and ensuing hunter deaths. Mama Winchester returns!

Looks like the reaper with the lovely voice has also returned.

I was happy to see Jody and Mary. However, when Mary was talking with the reaper, I was ready to give the episode a zero because I thought she was going to opt to return to heaven. The way she hesitated could not have made Dean feel that she really wanted to stay. I think Sam is more understanding because he has wanted to get away from the family more than once. Mary is having a difficult time adjusting and Asa's mother made it worse. The mother was unreasonable in her anger toward Mary. Although she apologized, an apology does not erase the pain nor the memory of what was said. On top of that, the demon was cruel and wanted Mary to be killed in front of her sons.
It was unethical for the hunter to cover up the accident in the manner he chose, but I sympathize with his dilemma. Now, he will have a hard time getting another partner and that mistake will follow him forever. I am glad they did not threaten to kill him. The Winchesters were the ones who made an effort to fight the demon and I am glad Dean started saying the exorcism.
There was one thing I did not like and did not think was funny. Elvis, the hunter who was a friend of Garth, was portrayed as immature and a nuisance. That was not necessary.
Elvis was not a friend of Garth. He was a friend of a person who knew someone who knew Garth. Okay, that is sort of funny.

Interesting that Mary was the one who influenced Asa to become a hunter. Just how did she leave baby Dean and John alone in Kansas and make it up to Canada to find and kill a werewolf she had "history" with? The wake for Asa was cool. His poor mom. Surrounded by hunters and knowing it caused her son's death. Loved the meeting between Jody and Mary and Mary's talk with Sam as well as Dean's talk with Jody. Not getting how the demon got in the house with no sulfur smell but when the hunters realized it was there they could suddenly smell sulfur. Billie the reaper returns! I both love and hate her. How did Mary know where the angel blade was. Jody possessed. I was so afraid she would die! Mary tells Dean he's smart and Dean smiles Bucky killed Asa?!? The ending was great with Billie offering Mary a way back to peace and her choosing to stay with her boys and bacon. Good episode.

Interesting that Mary was the one who influenced Asa to become a hunter. Just how did she leave baby Dean and John alone in Kansas and make it up to Canada to find and kill a werewolf she had "history" with? Good question. I thought she hated the life before she got married, and Dean would have been only a year old. She could have just called another hunter. I enjoyed the talks also. Seeing the hunters gathered at the wake made me think of the Roadhouse. I guess hunters run into each other at random bars now. All I can do is laugh. As Bobby once said, “What’s dead should stay dead.” Billie feels that way and it bugs her that the Winchesters get a pass. I think Dean will win her over eventually. ( Random thought: Why did they not invoke the God card and ask her who is she to question God’s will.) That was a good ending.

I am always happy to see Jody make it to the end of the episode and not be dead, I worry for her anytime she is in the show.
I thought it was ok, it had some good moments but I was not happy with others. To SoCal's point of Mary apparently hunting when Dean was a baby? WTH? I thought she had stopped when she had Dean? But nice car. Also about the sulfur smell and no one smelled it, reminds me of S7 and Bobby in the ghost house and the demon who rode in the car with the boys and they didn't know it. ( It was just on TV)
It was nice to see so many other hunters, it is nice to know there are other hunters out there even though we don't really see many of them. I was confused by the twins, how come they weren't able to do more to stop the demon?
I did like how there were talks all around and how Sam protected Jody even thought she was a demon. I also find it interesting that Jody and Mary met, I think it would interesting to see Mary spend some time with Jody, they could talk and maybe Mary would understand a bit more about the boys.
I do like Billie, and while I understand the point of her being there, I do kind of wonder why she was there. I did think it was rude of Elvis to jump on Sam and was glad the twins called him out on that.

I am glad it was Billie who showed up rather than people from the British MoL.
I am not knocking Mary, but I felt Dean's pain when he pointed out she would send them a text once a week maybe, but she drove all the way to Canada to attend a wake of someone she barely knew. Seeing it from Dean's point of view, it does feel like abandonment.
