It looks like we are in for a lot of violence now that the land of Ev has made rifles. It does not seem that they are going to share the guns with Wizard.
My perception of the Wizard of Oz is that he is supposed to be benevolent and harmless. It has become difficult for me to see this Wizard as being on the right side of the conflict and I do not like this Wizard at all. His jealousy caused him to be dropped in Oz. He wanted to impress the citizens by showing them what science can do. Then he realized he had to compete with magic in order to impress them. At some point, he waged war on the witches. I can see no scenario where the Wizard is the champion of this story.
Dorothy has become stronger and can call on the power of the gauntlet at will. She has a good heart and is in a dilemma about whether to help the Wizard or walk away. Now that Silvie chose the witches and Lucas is married, there is no reason for Dorothy to remain in Oz.
Witch of the West is an emotional wreck. She was devastated after Tip drank the magic and succumbed. I understand she sided with the Wizard because she was grief stricken that her young witches were killed in the war and that is very sad. But I do not think the other witches will trust her after her betrayal.
Queen Ev and Jack are a strange couple. We can clearly see through the mask Langwidere was wearing and there does not seem to be anything wrong with her face.
Lucas is a sympathetic character. He is unable to return to being the way he was before his memory was erased. Killing Dorothy seems like an unreasonable and harsh solution to the problem.
I am not championing Glinda, but she is more in the right than the Wizard. Emerald City is her world and the Wizard is an interloper.
I saw Toto running around but I do not know if he is with anyone.
Tip now has the witch's power to levitate. She is a princess and the rightful heir to some kingdom. Oh, The Wizard and Eamonn killed her parents.

The Witch of the West has become a more sympathetic character to me but I still don't like her.
So now we know Tip is a princess.
I wish Dorothy would go home and maybe we could put an end to this. At least the queen of Ev and Jack have an interesting relationship.
I'm lost trying to figure out Sylvie. At least some of the other girls are pretty.

I forgot to mention more differences between the book and the movie. In the book it's just Dorothy, Toto, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. And I don't think anyone says anything before Dorothy is carried away by the tornado. We are just told they are really poor and really isolated and it's a very basic house, not the nice one in the movie. No Miss Gulch, no Professor Marvel, no workers. No town.

1.09 The Villain That's Become 2-24-17
The Wizard arrives in the Kingdom of Ev, where an intense negotiation may lead to a standoff with Langwidere; Dorothy and Lucas find themselves on opposite sides; Jack makes a decision that could have deadly ramifications.

Dorothy and Toto returned to the cabin where they had spent a previous night. Lucas attacked her but could not bring himself to kill her. Toto valiantly jumped through a window and grabbed Lucas’ arm and Dorothy ran away. During the next fight, Dorothy stabbed Lucas. She then restrained him in the same position he was in when she first saw him. I do not like what happened between them.
Later, Dorothy approached the village and offered to free Nahara if she would awaken the stone giants. At the end, we saw a stone giant approaching Oz and Dorothy was leading the way. I have no idea how she will use the giant.
After Langwidere reneged on their agreement for the guns, the Wizard threatened her. Jack was alarmed and ran to Jane for help. Jane begged Frank to not start a war and he told her if she called him Frank again, she would be in trouble. Langwidere stood firm and refused to tell her soldiers to lower their weapons. Jack tried to shoot the Wizard, but the bullet struck Langwidere in the temple. Jack was distraught and took the body to Jane and demanded she bring her back. When Langwidere faced her soldiers without a mask, there was no visible defect. Jane explained the reason for the mask was to hide the fact that Langwidere does not age. The reason for that was the biggest shock of the episode for me.
I enjoyed the scenes with West and Tip. West freed the witches that were trapped in the forest of abject(?) and told them to follow Ozma, daughter of their true king. That took some convincing because Tip had used her magic to turn herself back into a boy. Although she really wants to be a boy, Tip reverted to being a girl and convinced the witches of her true identity. They will follow her.
The Wizard has made many enemies: Glinda, West, Tip/Ozma, Dorothy, soldiers of Ev, Jack, Lucas, probably Jane, and a lot of villagers.

One more detail from the book. Uncle Henry and Aunt Em were what you might call stoic. Not the characters in the movie at all. Though Aunt Em spoke once at the end when she was so glad Dorothy was home.
Langwidere was beautiful, so it was surprising she needed a mask, but now we know why.
I really don't like how Dorothy left Lucas.
Did we see the Lion?
This was the most unpleasant episode yet and I look forward to seeing Dorothy go home and the whole thing end.
I'm not sure whether Jane is still wearing the glasses I liked. But it's amazing how much she looks like a librarian who was at the library where I was yesterday, similar glasses and everything.

The Lion: Eamonn must be the lion because he was shown several times wearing a lion costume over his upper body when he killed Tip's family. The lion costume was also in Eamonn's living quarters. I do not like what Dorothy did to Lucas either. I also wish she would go home and I need to remove her from my favorite characters' list.

1.10 No Place Like Home 3-3-17
Conflict between the witches and Oz come to a head. Langwidere is unmasked. Tip gets revenge and a crown but remains conflicted. Something wakens. Dorothy meets her past and gets sent home.*** Whoever wrote the episode description must have wanted to assure us that Dorothy would be sent home.

I am so glad the nightmare is over. I saw that it would be the season finale. I was under the impression this was a limited series.
The librarian has dark hair but Jane has red hair. I thought Jane's hair was darker. So now we know she made the device that returned Dorothy to the real world. And that she's actually Dorothy's mother. And how did Toto get back?
I don't understand why they made The Lion think they had his family when they weren't his family.
I was pleased that Tip was merciful as princess. She did do what Mary on "Reign" sometimes does, but Mary isn't that nice when she does. "I am the princess. Obey me!"

The producers want to continue with a second season, but the show ratings and viewership are at the bottom on the network. I thought it was impressive when "OZMA" was written in the sky to herald her arrival in Oz. Yes, she was merciful and it seemed that West respected her for it. Ozma used magic to erase the memories of Eamonn's family. That was merciful because she could have killed him and his family. The witches' chants must have made the lion head piece a permanent fixture and that was an appropriate punishment. Although the young witches were resurrected, watching them be killed was awful. Also, watching Jack be brutally beaten and shot was unpleasant. When Dorothy was in the kitchen and I saw a rainbow in the window, along with the following items, I thought it was going to be up to us to decide if it was a dream. Of course when Lucas talked to Dorothy, I knew it was not a dream. Aunt Em's fingertips were black like West's. I wonder if that was significant.

I thought it was impressive when "OZMA" was written in the sky to herald her arrival in Oz. Yes, she was merciful and it seemed that West respected her for it. That was one of the few positive things. Ozma used magic to erase the memories of Eamonn's family. That was merciful because she could have killed him and his family. The witches' chants must have made the lion head piece a permanent fixture and that was an appropriate punishment. Okay, everything about the lion makes sense now. Although the young witches were resurrected, watching them be killed was awful. Also, watching Jack be brutally beaten and shot was unpleasant. I agree. I didn't know what was going on there. And at this point, I don't care what any of it means.

I saw something on Facebook that would be funny here but if I try to post it, it might not be possible to see it without being friends with the person.
