I really thought Sam and Dean were going to be rescued by their friends. When they died, I was baffled because I could not understand how they could have communicated in order to pull off dying at the same time. That was well done.
I loved seeing them in action. As soon as Sam lit a lamp in the cabin, I knew they were setting a trap. They are too smart to be sitting ducks. They had some nice lines too.
“We are not trapped in here with you. You are trapped in here with us.” “POTUS was possessed by the devil. We saved him.” Who are you guys? “We saved the world.”
I loved seeing the hugs by Sam and Dean with Castiel and Mary.
Castiel looked so ashamed that he was not able to locate the boys or capture the vampire that was terrorizing a city. Bad-ass Mary located and decapitated the vamp without any help.
I was surprised at the way the boys orchestrated their escape, and I am glad Castiel took action. His words were heartfelt and so true about the world needing all of the Winchesters.
The BMOL abhor loose ends and Mr. Ketch is remarkably talented at eliminating those loose ends.

Perfect episode. Anti, you described each wonderful scene. These are the boys I want to see.....hunters: fierce and determined.

The director of the episode must have a sense of humor. He must have known putting Dean and Castiel in the back seat of the car would have the Destiel fans going nuts. I was live tweeting and they were swooning...so funny! I am still laughing about that.

I liked this one better than some of the other this season, I thought it was a little slow in the beginning, but I really liked how things ended up.
I have a little trouble believing that the boys would think that dying would be there only way out, if the BMOL would have been contacted earlier, could they have helped getting them out? I also wonder why the prison was worse than Hell? was it because they were locked up, or because they were alone? We know Dean hates being alone, so maybe that was it.
I liked how Mary stepped up and took up the hunter role to help the witch and kill the vampire, she doesn't seem as if she lost anything in the time she was "gone" Her sacrificing herself for the guys is a very mom thing to do, Moms will go to the ends of the earth to save their kids or keep them from harm. (Yes, I know how strange that sounds) The one thing I didn't like was how she blamed Cas for getting the boys caught, that was their own fault, they should have left asap after everyone else left. Cas did lose the girl, but he was not on the hook for the guys.
I loved seeing smart Sam and Dean again, but it is a little jarring after seeing how easily they were caught, leave these guys as smart, the constant back and forth is giving me whiplash on how one episode they are dumb and then this wonderful example of how good they are. I also loved that they both tried not to kill anyone, even though they could have easily. I did hate that they made the deal, I saw a comment somewhere that it would have been Dean who would have died, because there was no way he would have left Sam go.
I am not sure we have seen the last of Billie, Crowley owes her a favor and I am wondering if he can help bring her back, a pissed off Reaper would be interesting to see, and I liked her.
I wonder about the BMOL and what they are up to, something isn't right, and I think Mr. Ketch takes a odd interest in Cas, he really seems interested in Cas and that bothers me, are they planning on taking Cas? And is Ketch even human? he seems odd, very odd, but I do admit it is an interesting character.
I saved my comments for Cas last because even though I loved some of his moments there were other that I am just over on. Loved the hugs with everyone, and his action at the end caught me completely off guard and I loved his little Winchester speech, the more I see it, the more it makes me realize what humanity and the Winchesters mean to this angel, God wanted the angels to watch over humanity and only this one angel has taken that to heart, to watch over, and to protect these humans. These humans who have fought against all manner of bad evil things when no one else would.
I saw a comment about Cas that I thought was very true, that he was a broken empty shell of himself, I think that is true, it is almost as if he has learned too many things from the guys, and has taken on the self loathing, guilty for everything, and everything is his fault, mantle that Dean has. I don't like seeing this Cas who is broken and isn't trying, where is Cas from S5 who took on 5 angels to save Adam. Where is Cas who has always stood up to anything in order to save humanity? I have noticed he seems a little darker and rougher, but don't want him to take on all the blame.

November, that is an excellent review of the episode.
I was thinking the same thing about Billie. I like her even though she resents the Winchesters. Plus, I wanted to hear her sing them a lullaby.
Cas was despondent, but he must also be unsure about the best way to handle situations. When he wants to take action (smite), he is told "No!". When he does not take action, he appears and feels inadequate. I loved the S5 Cas and was ecstatic when we had bad-ass Castiel. At this time, I am not even sure what abilities Cas possesses. It is confusing to me.
