Thanks Purple! I won't be around for the actual airing, because I think many of you get it an hour before I do, and I don't want to be spoiled, but I will see y'all after!

For how much this episode was hyped, it felt lacking. It was okay, don't get me wrong, but it was just okay, definitely nothing special. and I found myself annoyed by what Ness said to Dean in the car. F'ing screw that, Ness has /no/ clue what Dean and Sam have been through. People need to stop giving these boys advised based on their own limited understanding about how the world works. Tell them to go to hell for 40 or 180 years and see how well put together THEY are. Grumble.

it did have some great one liners!! i just wish they would stop seperating the boys (it's like every episode they're dealing with other people instead of each other)--and my sammy was the hero at the end ..see jared, sam is still badass!

I didn't expect to like it at all because I hate eps where Sam and Dean are separated but I was surprised because I really liked it. I liked the switching back and forth from Dean to Sam. There was banter. I've missed that a lot. Dean wasn't all mopey and morose either. Loved it that Dean knew exactly where Sam would sleep and left him the message. Loved it that Sam figured it out and saved Dean.

I liked it alot better than I thought I would. Usually I hate it when the brothers are separated but in this case I thought it worked out pretty good; Dean works with his hero Elliot Ness and got the message that hunting is a good purpose in life, and Sam works with Jody Mills and I'm just thrilled that Sam got to actually talk to another human being and he and Jody got good working chemistry, AND he killed the god monster in the end. That's twice in the role now that Sam kills the baddies and makes it a bit more safer for humanity.
Oh, and the rock, paper, scissor in the beginning killed me!
Makes me wonder if Canton, Ohio will be come the new home base for Sam and Dean since they moved all of Bobby's stuff to the house.

This weeks totally deserved a 10!!! I loved it!!!!!!!! Dean in the 40s in that suit and a hat hunting with Eliot Ness. Awesome!!!! Sam and Jodi working together in our time! Loved it!!! Back to the Future movie references!! So cool!!!! A female Bobby in 1944 was great!!!
Other great moments and lines: The boys playing rock, paper scissors. The boys introducing themselves as agents Smith and Smith....No relation. Hilarious!!!! Sam to Dean "Are you gonna look at more anime or are you strictly into dick now?" Dean knowing a computer trick that Sam doesn`t (thanks to Frank) Ness not understanding our modern day lingo Dean says "Awesome" Ness "How does that fill you with awe?" Ness comes over to talk to Dean. Dean "Talk to me" Ness looks confused..."I am" The female Bobby in 1944 calling Ness and Dean - Idjits Dean found a book with horse race results. "He's using the Biff strategy" LOL Back to the Future reference Female Bobby planting a big kiss on Dean. HEHE Can`t say I blame her. "I am special agent Costner." Jodi caught Sam sleeping and told him to go sleep but he wanted to keep working. "Do I have to use my Mom voice?" Dean`s Back to the Future write a letter for Sam to find in the future. Putting it in a wall kinda reminded me of the movie Frequency

I thought this episode was just good. I gave it an 8 because I'm happy that we saw both Sam and Dean working the case in both centuries. I actually love seeing Sam being the one killing all the monsters and Dean being the one rescued all the time. Yeah, that's the part of soulless Sam that comes shining through. Soulless Sam was a badass hunter and you see that part of Sam every time he kills some monster, God or whatever. You think Dean would finally get it through his head about hunting already. How many different characters are going to have to tell him the exact same thing about hunting? Maybe one of them can hit him on the head with a brick or something and maybe it will finally sink in his thick head. Maybe Sam will have to do it or punch him in the face and wake him up already.
Loved the scenes with Sam and Jodie Mills and I hope we see her in more episodes. It would be nice to have her as a recurring character to fill in for Bobby. Sam and Dean need a woman in their lives and not one to just have sex with. They need some mothering.

I'll admit that I may have squealed a bit when Dean walked out from behind the dressing room curtain in the suit. I know a lot of people haven't been liking this season but overall I've been enjoying much more than I was enjoying S6 at this point a year ago. At least we don't have a half a dozen unresolved storylines. We pretty much have the leviathan storyline and then Sam and Dean's emotional storylines. I do miss Bobby and Cas though. I try not to read too many spoilers ahead of time because I feel when I do that I don't enjoy the episode as much and I become too critical of the show.

I may have my problems with this season, but its much better organized then last season, when I'm not even sure the writers knew wtf was going on. I think reading spoilers and what not ahead of time is making me a bit more critical. I find myself more judgemental on things that have been hyped up then I would have been had they not. Plus, I admit, recent 'hints' about Castiel's return have colored my enjoyment and left me caring less and less about what happens. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching the show just out of habit. I /have/ at least overall enjoyed this season, with a few exceptions. For some reason though, I just found this episode lacking. One very cool thing though, loved Chrono's death. The whole pulsing heart and veins thing was interesting. More so then what he said, honestly.

I think reading spoilers and what not ahead of time is making me a bit more critical. I find myself more judgemental on things that have been hyped up then I would have been had they not. This is why I haven't done spoilers in a long time, heck, I even stopped watching the previews for next week. Spoilers are lies most of the time and previews are usually misleading. I honestly believe this is why I enjoyed "Time After Time" in spite of catching it's preview. Sure I was immediately disappointed by the preview so it lowered my expectation couple of notches, but then remember how many times I've been burned by previews, too many to count.

Sure I was immediately disappointed by the preview so it lowered my expectation couple of notches, but then remember how many times I've been burned by previews, too many to count. Heya Zenezie! It was the same with me. I expected not much regarding Sam and the brothers relationship in this and I found quite acceptable scnes where I even saw some more than just a robotic functioning badass hunter, I saw the human behind. I saw human emotional Sam of course when Bobby died. That was very touching and hard for Sam. I talk specially about Sam now and I think I don't have to mention Dean every time I say something about Sam. I need some Sam focus and the show is not giving it so I do it, the tiniest little hints are something I want to think about. The more Dean is front the more I pay attention to Sam, yeah so is this, I want the brothers as focus back and this includes Sam the person! I like the episode more than I thought, I even think the time travelling didn't not swallow up the rest of the episode. The scenes with Sam were tiny but a little insightful and more respectful to human struggling Sam and we even got some reactions. Sam was even allowed to have a conversation about Bobby and showed some feelings. Even when we further have no clue about his hell and his halucinations and how he handles everything. No evidence ! But I am fine with this episode! Hmmm, what do I vote? Hmmm, its not a 10 for me, not a 9, maybe 8, better than last weeks episode for me. Still to little Sam in it and I doubt we get the same focus on Sam when its "his" time ( )as if the boys needed separated arcs (stories)! I didn't see the promo for next week but I heard there is a clear indication. I may choose to not watch the promo, maybe its better or its getting worse. Who knows!

I thought the episode was pretty good, not its greatest, but then I guess I can be a harsh critic. I'm not a big fan of time travelling episodes; it seem too "gimmicky" to me. I prefer straight ahead stories and story telling a la "Nightshifter." I was also pleased to see that we are getting a new episode next week! I had thought we were entering a 2 week mini hellatus. Glad to see that isn't happening.

I hope this was the very last time of a real time travelling!! They can do this in a dream or in a hellucination then it can be good! And about the break I thought too we would get a 2 week break, and it is not?

After last night's episode, there was no announcement preceding the preview that said , something like, "in two weeks....." so I was thinking perhaps the break wasn't starting yet. But on the SupernaturalTV site, they ARE saying there will be no new episodes until Feb 3. What's the story?

I usually enjoy the lighter themed episodes. The French Mistake is one of my favorite eps, and the comedic moments in this series are one of the things I truly enjoy. But this episode just left me wanting more.
The story itself was a nice one, with good Dean moments and a kickass partnership with Elliot Ness. But coming so soon after Bobby's death, it just made me feel that the writers have no idea where they are going.
My usual MO is to be positive about the writing, but the Leviathan story has completely stagnated when it should be reaching a climax. What started out exciting completely lost momentum while the writers delved into so many side stories...and after reintroducing the baddies in a big way by taking Bobby, we get two more episodes where they are nothing more than a backdrop.
I remember the days when every episode made me want to watch the next one instantly, to find out what happens. Even when they were not pursuing a major storyline, like in season 1, the music, visuals, and chemistry between the two leads kept me coming back for more.
But after so much loss, the brothers just seem broken most of the time, and the fun spirit seems to have dwindled...and without the writing giving me some cohesive drama to follow, I don't find myself nearly as excited for new episodes.
I really hope things will turn around once the show comes back at the beginning of February, and give fans a compelling and action packed finale to get excited about. Otherwise, I don't see how the show can return for another season. I want this show to go out in a blaze of glory, not fade out with a whimper.

ITA, it's a relief to see fun spirit again. But past lost makes it hard to do anything but brace for more. Food for thought about the "Circle of Life" for TV shows.

I think it's important to remember that the show is required to have a certain number of stand alone episodes each season. The SPN writers tend to place most of these at the beginning or in the middle of the season so they can focus on the seasonal storyarc during the homestretch. So this may be part of the reason we essentially had a standalone episode so soon after Bobby's death (and we did see Sam and Sheriff Mills dealing with Bobby's death during TATAT). I think it always seems like we have some stagnation in the storyarc about this time of each season and then it picks up again.

I think a lot of Sam girls missed it thinking it would be all Dean. They missed out IMO. It was pretty equally devided and the things happening in both time lines were important. The Jared interviews have peaked my interest though. Edit: Couldn't tell by my emoticons though.

I gave it a 3
I enjoyed seeing Dean in a fedora and hat. But apart from that I couldn't quit get in to the plot of this particular episode. I don't know. The one scene I enjoyed was seeing Sam trying desperatly to get Dean back and getting to play the role of protecter than protectee. since we know that Sam is going to be in need of protecting later this season. So it good to see a reverse and shift in their dynamic. Also enjoyed the scene where Dean was trying to find a way to get in contact with Sam. It was a very cute scene. The episode would have been a lot better if Sam and Dean were hunting together rather than apart, but It was still good to see that even when they are apart it's like they are still together in a scene. Like they have the same brain.

Just 'meh' for me. Couldn't get into it - skipped half the episode - the Sam/Jody bits were good. The R/P/S was cute.

Was there there a plot in the episode? because I didn't know what the plot was. The guys are hot, but it doesn't mean that I will tune in just to watch Dean in his costume. The SPN network probably thinks all the fans are shallow and only watch for the pretty faces. They are so wrong on that. This episode was an episode that made me almost stop watching.

Other than a cryptic 'your future is full of black goo' (which, hello! They're the bad guys for the season - that kind of stands to reason) it was really pointless. I was bored - did not care for the episode. That's my opinion and I'm fine with it. Honestly could have (or maybe should have) skipped it. Been skipping a lot of episodes this season because I'm just not interested in what the writers are trying to sell. *shrugs*

It's evident they have run out of story lines to tell. Smallville was like that around season 6 or 7, yet they managed to take it all the way to season 10. Sad thing is I stopped watching Smallville after season 7.
