The weird dream thread

I've had clear memories of dreams all week once I woke up and by the time I remembered to write anything down I couldn't remember anything.

So this is old.

I don't know what I was doing with the group but they were watching some sports event that was taking a long time to end. I eventually realized I would have to call home and get someone to pick me up. However, no matter how late it got, it didn't get dark.

Another dream I remembered details of, until I was actually able to do something about it. I think it had something to do with shopping in a store in an old building.

But I do remember this much from a different dream. Someone was being cleaned from being dipped into what looked like a toilet.

And another entire week of dreams I forgot once I woke up.

I was sure I'd remember last night's dream. And all I remember about another night is I was driving back to someplace near the mountains and I wanted to take a road that less congested. I had never seen either road before.

 Giles Snyder of NPR was back in his anchor chair but the second time I heard him, maybe it wasn't him.

Jackie from Roseanne went out to see The View (an actual view) around midnight, although it wasn't dark. I saw her again when there was a medium size very mean dog and I found myself with nothing but her ability to control the dog stopping the dog from getting to me. Except the dog had turned into a bright yellow cat. Not a color that cats are, but actually bright yellow.

I'm not sure what Tim Allen's connection was, if any. But the one dream I remember out of several I had involved some girls burning stuff in a bedroom that belonged to the ex of one of them.

As I got closer to the river I saw an exit for Racife, spelled almost like a city in Brazil, and then water near the road. That river was very wide.

I had such a clear memory of two dreams and so many details and now, I don't remember anything.

I have to have something happen that reminds me. This morning I saw lights on my modem and was reminded. In a different dream from the ones above, I had three modems, some of them older ones I was supposedly not using, but all had a blinking light that indicated the Internet was out.

A couple of nights I know I remember dreaming and remember what it was about. And then by the time I woke up in the morning, nothing.

I did have some really clear memories yesterday and can write down what they were. I'll start with my aunt looking 20 years younger but saying to me that she might not be around next year.

Some container the size of a sink had water poured into it from containers the size of bottles. That's all I remember. There were more details that would make more sense.

Someone I go to church with was the trivia expert when I was with a very large group of people near water. There was land where I thought people were actually standing in water.

There was a very large lottery prize but no one seemed to know how it would get to the winner. The Car Talk guys were involved and both were still alive.

My grandfather was in the navy. I don't mean at the time. I mean it used to be true.

So many dreams I remembered just after I had them but fortunately there were a few I did remember when I could write them down. I could write them down during the night but I'd have to think to get something to write with and something to write on and it would disrupt my sleep.

I was in a car with someone else, supposedly in the mountains but I don't remember any mountains, riding past a radio tower. I wished we had done it at a better time because some big event was happening and something about the interference pattern right there at the tower would have made it special.

Men were walking through my yard. Signs had gone up across the street protesting whatever was being built behind my house.

I walked into a room where there were numerous Roman guards dressed like the ones on TV. I didn't know why they were protecting me.

The speed limit sign said 35, not 45. Then I actually saw a speed limit sign change to 15. Then there was all this equipment in the road.

Someone I used to go to church with looked like the man who ... well, now I can't remember. It was something like one of these TV series like "American Idol".

I remember dreaming but don't remember what I dreamed. So this is old.

I was in a room with Lady Gaga and as she sat at the piano she told me about how she deals with problems. Another celebrity was in the room.

A grandmother let people try on her clothes. I know there was more detail. At least I remembered that much after forgetting several other dreams.

In a city, I met in an office with a man who was going to do some sort of cleanup job and while he was serious and asked questions about me, others outside were playing games and causing trouble.

So many dreams that I remembered afterward this week but not when the time came to write them down.

There were several vending machines. Or at least that was what they looked like. A girl was in one and it used to be a rap radio station.

All I remember is being at the beach and going past a lot of motels in the car. I remembered what was weird when I first woke up but by the time I was ready to write it down I forgot.

Robin Williams was in Boulder, Colorado where there was a statue of Mork and Mindy. But it couldn't have been him, right? Actually, it wasn't him.

So many dreams this week I remembered when I woke up but not when I needed to write them down.

But there is this.

I stopped at the garage near where I live because I was about to go to the beach again.

Someone who works at the college library was in my house, which didn't look like my house. He was leaving as I was coming back, and then he was there along with someone else when we looked outside after dark and saw nuclear missiles off in the distance starting World War III.

I was outside my neighbors' house which didn't look like it does, and there were other people working in the yard, and the brown dog (which doesn't exist) was barking at me but I kept it from getting too close with a stick.

I was sharing a bathroom with some other people. One guy was in the shower but the room where the toilet was also had the shower so I couldn't do what I needed to. I don't know what was in the outer room but that's where the toilet should have been.

I could not use any of the toilets in a house that was mine but didn't look like mine because people were working on them. Those toilets were everywhere.
