Leap to Faith was pretty good. I was as uncertain as Eleanor and the others about whose side Michael was on.
When The Good Place was being torn apart, there was some wacky stuff going on in the background, like giraffes and other animals running around.
Derek played an important role, actually two important roles. His final comment caused raised eyebrows from me.

I thought Michael was on their side but he kept showing signs he wasn't. But now we understand.
I'm not sure what is meant by Derek's final comment. I saw something at the beginning of "Will and Grace" that led me to believe I missed something, and of course the show gets cut off.
When Michael's boss said he was happy, he reminded me of Capt. Holt on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine". That's the man who has the voice and personality of Bortus on "The Orville".

I used to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine so I am familiar with Capt. Holt.

I haven't seen last night's episode but Ted Danson won an award and Kristen was nominated. The show aired on The CW. Ted had a hard time remembering the names of all the cast. I'm not sure but Kristen might have been the one he forgot. Or maybe he was saving her for last.
Randall Park and Constance Wu of "Fresh Off the Boat" were also nominated in those categories. I'm very surprised because I didn't realize it was that good a show. Broadcast TV just isn't getting nominated these days, and not that many broadcast shows won even last night.

Thanks. It is nice to know that people on two shows I watch won awards. Cable and premium networks seem to take almost all of the awards.

I enjoyed watching them try to board the balloon and take turns failing. It was a good lead-in to the path they will take next week. I am interested in seeing that.

That was fun watching them try to board the balloon. I figured the second time around, someone else would get denied.
And we eventually found out Michael was lying again but he sincerely wanted to help.
I didn't think the music was good but then they had Nat King Cole and that's more like it. If they're still in The Bad Place they should have Michael Bolton.

The episode was good. I thought we would see a glimpse of something horrible, but Michael took the group to the safest spot in the Bad Place. The museum exhibits were amusing because they included some things that I have heard debates about. Included were the first white person to wear dreadlocks and the first person to expose himself. There were a lot of good ones, but I cannot recall them.
I thought Eleanor presented a good argument for why it was okay for Chidi to pretend to be someone else until they got to the portal. It is difficult for me to imagine anyone acting the way Chidi did about lying.
The 4th button could not be found quickly enough, and Michael made a selfless decision. It looks like Eleanor will have to present their case to the judge. I am not happy about the prospect of Michael being absent.

The new exhibit was hilarious. Some of the ones that were already there were good too.
I don't like the idea of Michael not being with them either.
Poor Janet couldn't get anywhere close to being a convincing Bad Janet.
Crosby from "Parenthood" was in the episode. I didn't recognize him but he was in the credits. He must have been one of the loser demons.

Poor picked on Michael Bolton. I love his songs. I can't stand him. Especially now that the radio station in Wisconsin has added several of his songs. It's not necessarily their fault. The network that a station in my area used to belong to, and the Wisconsin station still does, has added a bunch of songs that sound more contemporary than what they had in the past. Some days are better than others. I like the days when the network sounds like it did two years ago before those songs got added.

I was looking at a newspaper TV section and next week is the last one. That's a disappointment.
I've already seen last night's because so many shows weren't on.
The judge was nicer than I expected. And yet that didn't help. The tests were exciting. But I wish things had gone better for the humans.
I was amazed at how well Janet pretended to be Bad Janet. She was good to begin with, but it wasn't her.
I was so relieved Michael got out of his predicament. I missed the ending because the episode ended after it was supposed to. And "Will and Grace" was a rerun so that didn't help. All I know is that Michael and Janet showed up.
Kristen's husband was Crosby on "Parenthood". I read that somewhere. So that's why he was on last week.

I enjoyed the episode and the tests. I think the tests were rigged for them to fail and I do not really understand why Eleanor failed her test. She interrupted the judge when the judge was giving the reason. Eleanor said she pushed an old lady down the stairs to get to the shrimp bar; however, that must have happened before she arrived at the Bad Place. I do understand why the other three failed.
It was funny that they played the "wind beneath my wings" song while we were looking at the collage.
I think my favorite part was learning Good Janet was pretending to be Bad Janet. I was happy to see Michael and Janet show up.
Nothing happened after Michael and Janet showed up. No promos, nothing.

KyleEl When I turned the TV on this morning, "The Good Place" and two other shows left 4 - 6 minute clips about upcoming episodes. The clip for this show aired at 1:45 AM ET. It was very good and showed Michael making an appeal. Did your TiVo capture the clip?

Yes. But I prefer to wait for it to actually air. I did like the behind the scenes stuff, though. I should have watched that for "A.P. Bio" but I chose to wait until the episode airs.

I was very interested in what would happen in the episode and I enjoyed it.
The humor works for me because it is based on behavior we see in real life. When Eleanor told her friends about her near-death experience, they immediately monopolized the conversation to make it all about themselves. I was laughing so hard because that was like something that happened on here last year. A member heatedly berated people for not asking about her safety and had a real pity party. Someone fired a gun a mile from where she lived and it had nothing to do with her. In addition, people do not even know where she lives or her proximity to the incident. I laughed the whole time Eleanor’s friends were talking because I could relate.
Michael is a quick thinker and does come up with creative ideas. Some fans did think the crew would wind up in the medium place, but the judge’s proposal did not appeal to them. Michael’s proposal gives them an opportunity to redeem themselves, but I thought Eleanor had blown it when she quit her volunteer job.
It seems that the four of them will need more than a little push from Michael to change.

I was hoping things would go better for the four when Michael and Janet got there. But a solution was found and we now get to see at least Eleanor.
I wished they had focused more on the others because this was the finale, but I enjoyed Eleanor's attempts to change and the unbelievable attitude of her friends. Once again I am reminded of "Samantha Who?", the girl with amnesia who is so good but when we see flashbacks she's just plain evil. I was rooting for her, but there's no obvious reward for her. At least we got to see her with Chidi and it was interesting how they found each other.
Ted Danson's best-known role is as a bartender, so it was neat to see him in that role again.
Janet is becoming more like a person. I liked her better when she was always cheerful, even if she was more interesting when she acted more human earlier.

If I had thought about the episode being the finale, I would have been a little upset that not everyone was included. Now, we have to wait until September to see how the others are doing. I enjoyed seeing the nod to "Cheers". I do not know if you saw "Lost", but I also enjoy the references to that series. I am glad the events of "The Good Place" are easier to understand though.

I saw Ted on a list of episodes of "Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates". I can't remember the details about his ancestors, but there were some interesting characters. I think one of them was famous for standing up to the Puritans and being banished for not staying in her place.
