Because my other current favorite sitcom is on when this one is, I had to watch the newest episode of this show later. I normally don't care for Paige and I definitely wanted to slap her for putting her stolen loot in there with Sheldon's things, but when her heart to heart with Sheldon happened, I will admit that I wanted to put my arms around her. To me, her parents need their heads knocked together. They may not be husband and wife anymore, but that doesn't mean that their role as parents have come to an end too. Therefore, Paige and her sister should be the top priority instead of their mother's new smoking habit and whatever their dad is up to now.
Another person who in my opinion is in sheer and severe need of an attitude adjustment is Mr. Cooper. I've heard it said that pride is a sin. Well, to me, being like that most definitely doesn't set the right example. Because of his dad's frame of mind, George Jr. might not be so quick anymore to help those who need it which is what Mr. Cooper wanted Jr. to do from the very beginning anyway. He wanted Jr. to make himself useful where cutting the grass was concerned, right? Well when Jr. notices something else that needs attention and tries to do what he can, instead of being proud of having himself a helpful son, Mr. C. responds in the WRONG prideful way! I have three words for anyone who is like that: E FREAKING NOUGH!!!
I read at another website that country singer Reba McEntire will be in an upcoming episode of this show. She will be a former interest of the man that MeMaw is now going with.
God bless you and Reba always!!!

God bless you and Reba always!!! Holly You know, of course, that Billy's mom is Reba's old nemesis and I guess that's one reason. I forgot a couple of things. Last week's episode (well, two weeks ago by now) was the perfect opportunity to advertise the new Picard TV series. And did I mention Sheldon being dressed as The Flash?

Seeing Sheldon dressed as The Flash put a big smile on my face.
I watched all of the episodes, but could not take time to chat about them.
Georgie is a likable young man. I do agree with his father that he should leave the bedroom door open when a girl is in his bedroom. Missy and Sheldon ruined Georgie's visit with the girl. It did not seem like Meemaw was much help while Mary was helping the Pastor.
Mary was not much help when planning the Pastor's wedding. She wanted to spend too much money and she was miserable because she did not have a wedding.

^^^ Her not getting the wedding that she wanted is the reason why she went so far with the preacher's wedding. I don't even know why her help was needed in the first place. Does the bride not know anything about what she herself wants in the picture?
God bless you always!!!

No new episode, but Fox has a show with three kid geniuses. Someone on another site compared it to this one, but the shows have very little in common.

Last night's show was good! Missy should be glad that she remains on that ball team considering how she chose to get her track record going. I wish that at the end of the show Sheldon had let her know about his "trap" that she so willingly walked into and the smile on Georgie's face while in the RV listening to the three stooges cluck not to mention what he choose to drink and eat is the cherry on top of the ice cream for me. God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. Has it ever been said why Connie's husband is no longer around? To me she should be glad that other people still consider her to be worth the attention because its better than being ignored completely, but I will admit that I felt for her when she went to where his name is.

I liked how Sheldon ignored Missy. It's just consistent with his character.
I didn't like the dates on Meemaw's husband's tombstone. I'm the same age he was! And he had a hearing aid?
That was great how Dr. Sturgis and Coach insulted each other, but then it got too serious.
I thought surely Missy would … no, guess not. Pony, not Spock. Although her Pony looked a lot like Spock.

I liked Mary's prayer when she was worried about Missy. Later, I had to laugh a little when Mary glared at everyone while she said grace. Usually, Mary casts those glares at George, but this time, they all received it. Although Sheldon is a genius, he is naïve when it comes to believing what he is told. I knew the school would not give Georgie unsupervised access. Can you believe Georgie thought a glass of water would help the situation? I was proud of Missy when she declined George's offer of the cross. Then she swung and missed...

There's no way they could have gotten enough platinum to even make up for all they had to do to get it. It was funny how Sheldon and Georgie did what they did and I was pleased they could work together.
Missy was wrong to think of the cross as magic and I liked how Mary handled it.

Normally I watch this show later because of Last Man Standing being on simultaneously, but I watched this show first because of Reba being a part of it and I loved it!
God bless you and her always!!!

P.S. Georgie and Missy were my favorite part.

I found it disappointing Reba didn't interact with Billy's mom. When she claimed to be Billy's grandmother I was hoping it would happen, but no.
Otherwise she was great and it was a great episode.
Sheldon working with the other college students was my favorite part other than Reba.
I did like how the one guy got along with George.
Dr. Sturgis added a lot to the episode too.

I remember now what I should have said on the Vent Thread. I had trouble enjoying the episode because of picture problems on my TV. I thought I'd have to change TVs which mean moving two of them, but unplugging the connection to the TiVo and plugging it back in worked.

I admire the fact that Mary recognizes Sheldon's shortcomings and loves him unconditionally in spite of them. I also admire the way Mary defended women who enjoy feeding their families and catering to them. There is nothing wrong with that.
I sympathized with the students because I reacted with horror every time I had to participate in a group project in school. I guess Sheldon's best collaboration was with his wife.
It was fun watching Meemaw and the ex (Reba). The coach has a type.
Darn it! I cannot remember what Georgie and Missy were doing.

For those who might not know (number of times thread is read exceed number of those posting) Sheldon eventually goes to work at Cal Tech. I can't remember if he also graduated from there.
I'm expecting Holly to really go after Georgie for being so disrespectful. I'm glad he knows the truth and Mary really surprised me. I knew Georgie was conceived out of wedlock but not the other details.
I liked how Sheldon didn't recognize Missy's sarcasm and predicted adult Sheldon would say that was the case.
I've never seen Sheldon so scared and George handled things well. The flight attendant acted like that never happens but surely some people are that scared.
It was funny how the university paid for the trip.

Last night's show was good, but to me, Mary didn't elaborate enough if she had no other choice but to tell George Jr. about her past. She should've told him that her car accident could've been the end of her life and not being responsible enough in the bedroom could've garnered her an STD instead of a baby at any time too.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. How long a flight is it from Medford Texas to Pasadena California?

Georgie does act as if he thinks he should be able to do anything he wants, but he is not an adult yet. Kids do not worry about parents listening to their calls now. Sheldon acknowledged, without apology, that he does get everything he wants. This time, the university made it possible. George has received some nice perks because of Sheldon. A lesson George should have learned on the trip is whenever possible, do not ask Sheldon to make a choice. When the camera panned out at the end, we could see where adult Sheldon and his buddies sit at lunch.

When the camera panned out at the end, we could see where adult Sheldon and his buddies sit at lunch. I didn't see that! There is a really good actor playing a young genius on "Outmatched". If he was Sheldon I don't think the show would be as good, but on his show he seems quite talented. On another site they really don't care for that show. It did have one great line which I wish Sheldon could say. This is not an exact quote, but it was something like, "I have a photographic memory. I remember the womb." Then the kid started humming and said something like, "You sang me that song. I hated it."

I think Sheldon has done this joke. The kid on "Outmatched" was sent to the principal for bullying this teacher. The kid explained that he was only correcting the teacher because he was wrong. And that happens often, he said.

"An Academic Crime and a More Romantic Taco Bell"
How much? Too much. Dr. Linkletter, Sturgis' competitor, advised Sheldon that an acknowledgment was appropriate rather than being a co-author. That should carry a lot of weight since he usually compete's with Dr. Sturgis. Without consulting anyone, Sheldon made a call that could damage Dr. Sturgis' reputation in the community. Sheldon is not always right - or nice. There will be consequences.
Georgie's dilemma was my favorite part of the episode. His girlfriend, Jana, was right to be jealous because she is Georgie's second choice after Veronica. Georgie was trying hard to avoid complications, but it was not easy.
I understand Mary wanting to give Missy a trophy with a girl on it, but I wondered why she did not cut a girl head off a golf trophy or something similar. I just shook my head when Missy blew the trophy up.

I was glad Mary went to all the trouble she did, but you would think even back then it would be possible. Missy finally appreciated the effort, or so it seemed. she shouldn't have blown it up.
Georgie's problem was cute, but it wasn't the best thing about the episode. It was awkward having Veronica as his waitress. For both of them.
I never though Dr. Sturgis would get so mad at Sheldon that he would not want him in the class. He has always been so nice. But I knew Sheldon was walking a fine line. Calling him a bonehead seemed likely to cause real problems. However, he hardly co-wrote the paper and Sheldon was being completely unreasonable. And he went too far with his accusation.

Sheldon is not always right - or nice. There will be consequences. If Sheldon's contribution was significant enough, I applaud him for his assertiveness, especially if his name was only going to be where no one bothers to go and as for consulting anyone, who else was there for him to approach exactly and if Sheldon is not always right or nice, I appreciate Dr. S. for letting it be known how much of desire he doesn't have to point out the right direction to go in. How will Sheldon ever learn the correct way to be if the right example is never in front of him? Wasn't it Gandhi who said that a person has to be the kind of person themselves that they want other people to be as well? God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. George Jr. was the best part of the show. May him and Veronica be together again soon!

I don't recall whether we saw Sheldon learn to play chess, and he probably knew long before the first episode.
I say this because of what happened on "Outmatched". The young genius had never learned chess and his older brother wanted to be challenged, so he taught the kid. Who said "checkmate" after five moves and asked if that was too fast, since he was a newbie and didn't know how it was supposed to work. I don't know who his opponent would be but I can just picture Sheldon doing that.
