Tonight's show was good. I loved the story that Memaw shared about Mrs. Cooper and in my opinion, the only thing that George Jr. did wrong is not tell Mr. Cooper about what Sheldon was up to.
God bless you always!!!
Holly
P.S. I am surprised that Sheldon's rock didn't do more to that boy's head. How could he not bleed or be knocked out?

George, Jr. is a good brother and he never physically hurts Sheldon. I was glad the bully did not punch George even though he pushed him into the lockers.
I think although Sheldon enjoyed having the power to make people do what he wanted, he did not want anyone to actually brawl. I did not believe Sheldon would really hit the boy with the rock, and I was shocked that he did. He deserved to be put inside the locker. But the comment at the end that it was a long night in the locker made no sense at all because his family would have been looking for him.
I have always championed Mary as a good and loving mother so I was happy that Meemaw took up for her.
I was amused that George, Sr. acted as if he handled a situation between the brothers because he did not have a clue what was going on.

Actually, we found out he wasn't the school bully. I liked how Sheldon was able to solve his problem just by talking. It was funny to watch Sheldon threaten Georgie. But then a real bully started making trouble and this guy couldn't help. Is it just me or did the real bully look like Donald Trump, who is also a bully?
Caitlyn Jenner was on "Match Game". She looks like a man with wig and still has a man's voice. That's who Missy looked like.
I wondered how Mary could have been so religious after being raised by Meemaw. Maybe her father? Now we know. That was a sad story and it sure worked on Missy.

Zoe Perry and Annie Potts were nominated (but did not win) for an award given out on a show that aired on The CW. The award was not given out on the air but merely announced.

I loved tonight's show! The last thing that Sheldon said to his dad before going to bed was the best part! His dad not picking up on what Sheldon did there in my opinion only went to show how far his dad's brain train truly does not travel. God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. To me, Mrs. Cooper had no right to tell anyone about what that newly wedded couple had to share with her.

Before Missy said she figured out what Sheldon did, I didn't get it at first but I did before Missy said what she said.
Sheldon's behavior makes perfect sense if you have seen the other show. He's more mature here than he is on the other show. It was funny adult Sheldon said he had never been wrong.
I had a similar situation to Sheldon's in high school. I was in the chorus and people made fun of me for "only" getting a 95. Actually, I didn't sign a solo or do anything special, but I got a higher grade when I was in "Hello Dolly" singing with the orchestra (not on stage in costume).
I couldn't believe Mary told George what she did. It wasn't all right even if she didn't say who it was, and then she said who it was.
Mary's shut-in was the racist, homophobic Texas native from Charlie Sheen's series "Anger Management". Also the astronaut who ran the town in "Northern Exposure" and Cam's father in "Modern Family".

I am not clear on why it was funny adult Sheldon said he had never been wrong - because Sheldon was not wrong in this episode. If he had been wrong, perhaps he would not be so smug as an adult. Actually, I thought Sheldon was not going to be able to prove he was correct, but Dr. Sturgis finally admitted Sheldon was right.

I agree, but what's funny about Sheldon saying he has never been wrong is not about this episode. It is about the Sheldon character in "Big Bang Theory". So I guess to someone who has never watched that show, it wouldn't be as funny.

I loved tonight's episode of this show! I do have one question though. Did George Jr. ever tell Sheldon "Thank you!"? Had it not been for what Sheldon said on the news, George Jr. never would've gotten that surprise visit from the girl that he wants to be with. God bless you always!!! Holly P.S. The final scene of the show would've been the perfect time to show the appreciation since the other family members obviously didn't have anything new to share.

The episode was so funny and I laughed a lot when Meemaw was exhibiting her love for the U.S.A. Her flag waving while singing patriotic songs was great.
I suspected George would be in trouble at work and he was. His solution was hilarious. When I saw the way Sheldon was dressed for the interview, I almost keeled over with laughter.
I like the way Georgie was honest with the girl he likes. He said his head thought they could be just friends, but he would not trust the rest of him. Georgie had already become friends with the girl before the "communism" issue so Sheldon gets no credit for her sitting with Georgie. However, it was Sheldon's fault that no one else would sit with Georgie.
The path to their house was lined with U.S. flags. That was the first time no one in the family was speaking to Sheldon, not even Mary. I do not think Sheldon was repentant.

Sheldon didn't realize what he was saying when he thought government should be in control, but I believe this was the funniest one they've done yet. He's done some outrageous things but this was bigger than all of them.
Mary should have answered the phone with the name of the church.

Sheldon didn't realize what he was saying when he thought government should be in control I agree. I blame the newscaster for posing that question to a child and I blame the network for putting it on the air. Hearing Meemaw in the background trying to stop the dialogue was another funny moment.

I enjoyed the episode. There were a lot of interesting issues. Sheldon wanted to be like the person he emulates so he decided to play a violin and change his religion. Missy and Georgie thought his attempts at playing the violin were amusing; and so did I. I think the most surprising thing to me was that Sheldon accepted the advice of the Rabbi. It surprises me when Sheldon accepts someone else’s opinion. Another issue was when Mary thought she was pregnant. I want to think that it was a false positive and she was not pregnant. Losing the baby is too sad. I admire George’s honesty in quickly telling his boss he no longer needed the raise. It was nice his boss let him keep the raise anyway. Tonight's show was good, but it leaves me with a question that I have wondered before. Why does the preacher allow smoking to be done at the church? God bless you always!!! Holly Smoking cigarettes was an accepted practice and clergymen also smoked. That changed when people were finally convinced that smoking and secondhand smoke were both harmful to their health. On that basis, some people looked at smoking as a sin and it was no longer permitted. Mary’s church had not caught up yet.

^^^ I felt for Mr. Cooper when he told his boss that the baby didn't make it. Yeah he was mad at first about another baby being on the way, but the look on his face when he had to let it be known that the baby was gone said everything.
God bless you always!!!

I wish it had been a false positive. We knew Sheldon didn't have any younger siblings.
I liked all of Missy's sarcasm.
Baptist scientists? Do Baptists believe in science?
I was surprised Sheldon wanted anything to do with religion since he's an atheist. But the whole process was funny.
Mary wasn't married to Joseph when she told him.

I forgot one detail on the Vent Thread.
The sound (or at least the dialogue) went out on the latest "Fresh Off the Boat". But I had three more left to watch. On one, Evan was annoying the man at his school who could tell him if he got into Yale. Sheldon is the same age and could be doing that, but hasn't so far.

Evan's mom is going back to school so he's in charge. No, his dad is too busy with the business. Evan's in charge of his brother who is George Jr.'s age and another brother in between, and his grandmother who is as naughty as Meemaw but actually lives with them, but in the garage.
