I don't know if there is a video of episode one, but here's all I got on BuddyTV. Season 13 begins. Was it worth the wait?

I love, love, love the way they incorporate stuff from fandom. Some fans have wanted Sam and Dean to be included in the CW crossovers because "they are super heroes too". Dean's expression is priceless when the sheriff asked if they are some type of super hero.

I really enjoyed this episode, right up to the very sad events at the home.
When they drove to the burger joint, closed captioning said “Baby approaches”. That was so sweet.
Dean praying to Chuck was sad and he even prayed for Crowley to be brought back.
I thought Jack would resurrect Castiel even though the angel said Castiel was gone and not coming back. They burned the bodies! I know fans wanted Lucifer to return, but I did not want to trade Castiel for Lucifer. Now I wonder how we will see Cas again – in flashbacks?
I liked the sheriff because she was open minded and functioned well under dreadful circumstances.
It should be fun watching Sam and Dean instruct Jack regarding morals and ethics..

Excellent episode. I wasn't sure about the Luci-spawn, but his character was engrossing to watch.
Anti, I agree: watching Dean pray to god was tears inducing. And I thought his reaction to Jack was better than Sam's was. How could Sam so calmly embrace Jack? Too bad neither gunshot would put him down. And the angel blade doesn't work on him? I guess that's why bobby angel blade bullets didn't put Lucifer down in last season's final episode.
The new angels are worse that the ones we've experienced before. I never cared for Jack's mother, but to dismiss her as the "brood-mare" seems unreasonable harsh. Of course she did give birth to Lucifer's son.....so.....
The sheriff seemed to accept Dean's explanation for Jack a little to quickly. And what about her son? How did he survive(?) being stabbed with the angel blade?
Poor Mary, stuck in alternative world. Lucifer certainly doesn't plan to make her stay with him easy.
Looking forward to next week.

I agree with you, SoCal. Dean did have the logical response to the Nephilim. Sam's reason for keeping him alive seems to be that he is young? Sweet Sammy is going to teach the Luci-spawn to be a good boy.
I think the sheriff accept Dean's explanation because she saw the flickering lights and what Jack could do at the vending machine. Plus, Jack had an astonishing reaction to the angel voices.
I did not intend to overlook Mary's dilemma. I bet she wishes God had left her in heaven.

We can't blame Chuck for that. It was god's sister who brought Mary back to life. She thought she was giving Dean a gift. Guess she never thought about what the gift's reaction would be.

I agree. That was not Chuck's fault. Poor Mary.

I still need to watch this one 1 more time to pick up on what I might have missed, but thought I would go ahead and do a review and can add later if I need to.
It was ok, with some deep emotional moments in it, not much humor in it, but then I was hoping it wouldn't, this one really needed to show the grief and to show how so many deaths affected the guys and I believe it did it.
I liked hearing Metallica- good song choice. I also liked the new S13 title card- I am not computer savvy enough to screenshot it but I have saw on other sites that during the title card the "T" turns upside down as an inverted cross, maybe someone can find it and put it here?
The beginning with Dean next to Cas and then pushing his emotions down and going to do do his job and all the other little Dean moments thought out this episode showed why Jensen is so good at showing so much with just his face and not having to have dialogue. When he was trying to talk to Sam, and the sheriff and when he was trying to wrap Cas up and the look on his face and the small hesitation and the struggle to control his emotions was simply heartbreaking. Anytime he tried to talk about Cas, it was so hard for him to do it.
I liked Sam's ability to try and get to know Jack and also he seemed scared of Jack and was wary of him and what he could do. The only thing that kind of bothered me about Sam is he didn't seem to quite get what Dean was going thru and try and talk to him about it, maybe it was because he was looking out for Jack, but idk he seemed not to care as much. But again it was just the first episode so we shall see. I did like the sheriff and her son, I hope we see them again Jack seemed to have made a friend and even though he is what he is, it wouldn't hurt for him to know someone outside of the Winchesters. I like how Jack was portrayed and he seemed Cas-like in his speech and how he seemed confused about certain things. I LOVED that Jack said he CHOSE CAS as his father, very sweet and a much better choice than Lucifer. I am looking forward to seeing how that relationship pans out (Cas and Jack).
They should have ended the episode with the funeral pyre and shove in Mary and Lucifer because I don't care about them, the scene where Dean prayed about his fallen family and the guys standing at the pyre with tears in their eyes was so painful to see, why don't these guys get some awards???
Anyway, I hope it continues on and gets better as the season goes on.
By the way, in case anyone wants to see a young Jared, there is an ER marathon on today on POP and Jared is in an episode, the episode shows this afternoon and again this evening.

Hello November That is the most emotion-filled “The Road So Far” intro I have seen. Maybe that is why I did not notice the upside cross in the title card. I am so glad you mentioned it so I could go back and see. Nice title card. I noticed also that Sam is scared of Jack, and he should be. I was busy and did not talk about a lot of stuff, but I was pleased by the way Jack experienced everything with wonder – like a child. Jack told the sheriff’s son he was hungry. Then the lights were flickering and we could not see them. Even though we heard laughter, I thought there was a 50% chance Jack was dining on the young man. Gross, I know. I hope you enjoy it more during your next viewing. Supernatural appears over a golden Nephilim iris, with bolts of lightning cracking in the clouds

Hi Nov! You don't care about Mary and Lucifer? Sacrilege! I like both of those characters and hope apocalypse world (with Bobby, of course) figures in upcoming episodes. I thought it was a great episode to start off the new season. After 13 years, sometimes the writers just get it right. I agree with you that Sam seemed too calm and distracted considering they had just lost Mary and Castiel but I'm sure all will be explained in upcoming episodes. Good to see you here again.

Jack is adorable. His reaction to eating nougat reminded me of Cas and those hamburgers. It was sweet.
Really liked having fewer characters...I got to focus on the boys more, like the old days. And Cas is totally coming back. Don't know how, but he will, for sure.
