I was concerned this show wasn't funny any more.
It's so hard watching them have to do all these terrible things. But it turns out they don't have to do anything that bad. About a third of the way through it was funny. And continued to be for a while.
Boomer's grandmother (I feel so bad for her) was a patient on "The Good Doctor".
I do believe it was an accident.
It was so funny when Kenny's parents were asked if anything was going on at home. There was no need for an answer but I was worried they would somehow make the joke less effective and they finally went to a commercial.
I looked up Mary Pat because she looked so familiar. Turns out she was in "Downward Dog", which I hated but since I taped all the episodes, I eventually watched and it grew on me.
Stan is so mature. I saw his name in the credits and was reminded he was once Mike's immature partner on "Mike and Molly", where he was also a cop.
Ruby is trying so hard. I was afraid she'd confess, but she was talking about forging Stan's signature.

I felt the same as you about the episode, but I felt Ruby was going to confess about the body and changed her mind. It did not seem that forging the check would cause that much emotion.
I also felt sorry for Boomer's grandmother, but on a positive note, now she might never find out he was a serial rapist. The body was chopped into pieces so it made no sense that they wrapped it in the shape of a body. It looked suspicious. Other than that, I thought the episode was pretty good.
The Stop Sign scene was intense. Beth and Rio are getting closer to the point of no return.

There was some comedy this week, but it sure is difficult to watch what they have to go through.
The uniforms at the store where they were returning merchandise looked familiar. It's the same chain as on the series ""Superstore"!
I felt so bad for the grandmother having to go through what she did (and she doesn't even know the worst) but Annie helped her through it. That was so nice.
Mary Pat is in trouble now. How did the kid know what was in the freezer?
I liked the afro on the guy at the quick loan place. And his attitude. nice of Ruby to do what she did but it's against the rules. But where did she actually get that money? Surely it wasn't the counterfeit stuff.
Beth did an amazing job at the car lot and her husband can't appreciate it. She could actually get him out of his jam. Meanwhile, I couldn't believe what she did in the bathroom.
I liked several of the songs, especially the ones in foreign languages. I liked whatever was playing in the grandmother's apartment.
The music at the beginning is what my father played, on a vinyl record, when he got home the night they took my mother to the hospital in an ambulance, two months before she died. He didn't say anything and I didn't ask, but I heard him talking on the phone later and my mother was still alive. Her situation had gotten worse in the past month but it seemed at that point like it was over.

I agree Beth did an amazing job at the car lot. I noticed he sabotaged a sale when she previously engaged with a customer. In spite of his "explanation", I did not understand why he rejected her attempt to help. He has caused them to have financial issues more than once. Boomer's grandmother was going to lose her home because Boomer was stealing from her. I am glad she figured it out without Annie telling her. Boomer had been ignoring the eviction notices for six months. That is mind boggling. The problem I had with what Ruby did in the fast cash place is I think each of the ladies should keep a low profile. I thought Rio really liked Beth. That is why I am so confused by what Rio did at the dealership. Was he angry with Beth? Did he lose respect for her because of the bathroom encounter? Or was he trying to break up her marriage? KyleEl Any thoughts on his reason for acting so hostile? After some cars were sold, the ladies came to Beth's home and they split the money three ways.

KyleEl Any thoughts on his reason for acting so hostile? I just assumed he was greedy and he wanted to make clear there would be consequences if he didn't get his share, but I don't know why he thinks he'[s entitled to anything. I have to wonder if the damage to the car can be fixed. I mean in real life. How could they do that to such a nice car unless it's not in good shape? After some cars were sold, the ladies came to Beth's home and they split the money three ways. I don't remember a single car actually being sold. I remember some great sales pitches.

Otherwise, there would have been nothing to split.

It's great that Beth was so successful, but it came at a cost. The end of the episode was really good, and maybe she will be a success.
Overall, it was terrible what had to happen in this episode.
A bunch of cops with dogs searched that dump. What did Rio know that they didn't? Whether he had the money or not, there's just no way.
At least we did get to laugh a few times.
The FBI agent knows enough. How the girls are getting away with it, I don't know.
Mary Pat's life isn't pleasant right now but she's getting what she deserved. It may have been an accident but she didn't handle it right.
I'm not clear on what Stan has been able to do. Ruby feels guilty which is appropriate.
Annie and her daughter are so good together but I hate what happened between them.

This was a pretty good episode, but each episode has something I think is ridiculous.
When Beth was fantasizing and Rio was smashing things, I wondered what type of relationship were they in. Then, I realized he was not really there. I cannot defend Dean's cheating (and I bet there were more than four affairs), but two years without intimacy is a long time.
The only ones I really feel sorry for are Stan and Sadie. I do not think Stan has done anything regarding Boomer except keep the ladies informed about progress in the search. But if the agent investigates him, he might learn about the missing piece of evidence.
Annie is a mess. There was no good reason for her to dump her issues on Sadie when Sadie was going to school. How could Sadie concentrate on her studies with that information on her mind? Plus, Annie acted jealous of Beth for having a relationship with Rio. If she was a good sister, she would be fearful for her sister because Rio is dangerous.
They dodged a bullet, but more trouble is headed their way. I cannot hate the agent because he is just doing his job.

Beth should not have come home to that. And she said almost those same words. Husbands aren't very good at that stuff. But Dean came through later.
Those were pretty pills,
I'm not sure but it looks clearer why Rio expects to make money from the car business. Beth handled the situation well.
I feel so sorry for Sadie. She and Annie had such a good relationship and now look at them.
The look on Ruby's face was something new. The FBI agent has managed to do what she was hoping he wouldn't (and he doesn't even seem to know the worst part), but she has a way out. She was actually willing to sacrifice herself for her family but maybe she won't have to. I don't know if she can handle the cost of that, though. Meanwhile, the FBI agent and his partner had a good time with the kids.
Dean may have found the solution, but I hope not. At least the other guy thought he was joking.

The women's friendship is important to the story so they need to find a way to stop Ruby from testifying and help her to protect her family.

During a current IMDb interview, Christina Hendricks (Beth) revealed something surprising to me. When the ladies robbed the grocery store the second time, Christina realized she did not have a free hand to pull the cap off of the pen. She thought the camera would be pointed somewhere else, so she used her teeth to remove the cap. The camera caught the mistake and the boss decided to leave it in. That has led to some interesting drama.

Last night's was a hard episode to watch. Ruby had to do what she had to do, and even now she AND Stan being threatened by the man from the FBI. I knew she wasn't going to get valuable evidence when the men who had the blanket stole their phones. Beth wore the same pajamas every night. No one on TV does that! Seeing Beth in that store reminded me I used to enjoy going to the section of stores where the pretty yarn was, and the pretty spools of thread. She was kind of mean to the cat lady. Even if it's cats, I do get sick and tired of people talking about animals like they're children. I genuinely do not like dogs and cannot stand people talking about their dogs that way. The best thing about the episode was Ruby and Beth's daughter in that closet It was sad how Annie's relationship with Sadie continued going downhill, but Annie handled things well. I like how things are going with Annie's new boss. She nearly got in trouble saying all those things thinking he was just an employee. "Tequila" (by The Champs) and "Margaritaville" are both played on my Wisconsin radio station. Annie's funny drink order reminded me of that. Not much to laugh at last night. The uniforms at the store where they were returning merchandise looked familiar. It's the same chain as on the series "Superstore" The Girls should have tried going to St. Louis to take back their merchandise. The people at that store are idiots. Except Amy and Jonah. Actually, Garrett handles returns and he seems intelligent. That store is a terrible place to work. Amy was about to give birth and that nurse from "Young Sheldon" (who was handling the insurance) said her insurance wouldn't cover her stay and she had to go to this dump where her doctor was a geezer who seemed like he would be senile (see the Supergirl thread). Amy and Jonah got a chance to go to a managers' conference and when they asked two other managers from the chain about a $15 minimum wage, they said people who worked the floor weren't worth $15 a day and made other disparaging remarks. Those stores deserved to get taken by the Girls!

The Dubby - When Rio gives her an assignment, Beth is forced to take her kids with her. Under pressure from Turner, Ruby crosses a line there's no coming back from. Annie meets her new manager at Fine and Frugal.
When I saw what was in the envelope, it made me like Rio again. I was peeved at him because of the way he was treating Beth, but confronting the men about the blanket was a good sign. Dean is not smart. He approached Stan about killing Rio. Not only that, but Dean suggested involving some of Stan’s cop buddies. No wonder Dean’s business kept failing; he’s an idjit. However, it was gratifying to know he does have feelings for Beth in spite of his affairs with at least four other women. Last night's was a hard episode to watch. Ruby had to do what she had to do, and even now she AND Stan being threatened by the man from the FBI. I knew she wasn't going to get valuable evidence when the men who had the blanket stole their phones. Ruby was not getting valuable information before the phones were stolen. Agent Turner kept scaring Ruby and there is no way Stan would pass a lie detector test so the automobile-drug exchange board seemed like a solution. When Ruby was looking at the board and made a phone call, it seemed likely she was calling the FBI agent, but I hope it was a trick. I liked that scene also. I thought it was frustrating and bad parenting. I am glad Annie did not get negative feedback because of her comments and I am glad the new manager is a decent guy. But when I looked up and saw what they were doing in an area of the store, I thought that was another stupid decision by Annie.

I really liked those scenes with the young girls. Young Beth was so pretty. Ruby must have contacts now because there's no way she could afford the surgery. You would think we'd see her with glasses occasionally.
I don't envy Beth trying to drive the longest car ever made. Actually, the Oldsmobile 98 from those years was longer simply because the back is straight up and down.
Ruby was writing a date in 1990 but she said she had known the other girls for 25 years. It's actually 28. Assuming the fact this season started so late means we're still in 2018.
I didn't think Dean was an idiot until I heard Beth say she was going to the prom with a guy whose father ran a used car lot. That sounds familiar. I am reminded of a certain man who inherited a business from his father and went on to become President of the United States.
I didn't recognize the other FBI agent because I have this problem with recognizing people in situations where I don't expect to see them. But when he said Annie was out of the friend zone … oh, THAT'S why he looks familiar.
I'm confused about what Sadie said. She IS a girl, right? Of course. She has a girl's name. She hasn't transitioned. She wants to.
Why did Annie not change clothes after getting in there? And she touched people without … did she at least wash her hands? I am pleased she cared so much that she did that.
Ruby didn't go through with it. But she's still not doing right by Beth because she wants to keep her husband out of trouble. And he did get suspended. I don't know how the FBI agent knew but he made it clear he did and he would not let up.
I wondered why the girl in that apartment was just in her underwear. The credits called her "underwear girl". Yes, Beth is old enough to be the guy's mother if that was 1990. And Beth lost … the merchandise, not actual money. Wait, forget Dean! WHY IS MY BACK YARD TORN UP?
Dean got himself in real trouble. He was actually asking those guys to do that!

Thelma and Louise
There were some what the heck moments. When Dean met with the two young guys, I immediately knew they could not have been Mossad agents. I agree with Rio that Beth’s D-A hubby messed things up. In fact, my favorite scene in the episode was Rio’s amused reaction to what Dean did.
The biggest what-the-heck moment was Noah being an agent instead of a sweet store manager. I said last week that it was stupid of Annie to get intimate so quickly but, of course, I did not know how foolish she was. The upside is Annie is a liar and will not likely tell Noah the truth about anything.
I was not convinced the FBI Agent told Stan the truth about the lie detector test. He said stuff to scare Stan and Ruby fell for it. Although Ruby has not given Turner incriminating material on Beth, she has admitted her guilt and that implicates her friends.
I enjoyed the flashbacks to their childhood. Annie was always a con artist. She charged children money to jump off of her porch and convinced them they could fly.
No more birthing scenes please ever!

I hated to see Stan go to jail but he had a good attitude. The FBI agent just won't quit. I've even forgotten why that pen cap is so important.
I just have to accept the Girls will continue to commit crimes, and their latest victim was a fun one. That was going to be obvious from the preview.
Annie looked so different at the end of the episode for some reason.
Did someone call Sadie "he"? But she identifies as male, right?
And how does she wear a tie to school if she doesn't know how to tie one? I always wore clip-ons but it just didn't look like one of those.
Sadie gets along well with Annie's new boyfriend. That was surprising.
Dean admitted he wasn't an idiot. Even though we've established he can't run a business.
Beth just can't seem to get out of her situation. she just keeps going back to this man for … everything.
I was so happy to see Beth get her kids back.

I hated to see Stan go to jail but he had a good attitude. The FBI agent just won't quit. I've even forgotten why that pen cap is so important. I hated it too when Stan went to jail. And he had to stay in there until they could get the bail money. Beth used her mouth to remove the cap from the pen so her DNA was on it. That was funnier than I expected. The clerk was not really a bad guy. I checked Izzy (formerly Isaiah) Stannard's social media and he identifies as transgender. That was a great job of casting for the role. Noah seems like a really nice guy. Both Sadie and Annie will be shocked and hurt when they find out he is an agent. Me too. *** Annie's conversation with Noah at the end of the episode would have landed her as my least favorite character if she was not already on that list. Maybe she can be described as my least least favorite character.

On "Life in Pieces", Matt and Colleen are adopting a baby. It was suggested the mother have a midwife, and the one they talked to let them attend a water birth. Matt ended up in the water, though we didn't get to see it. As bad as things were for Annie, Matt said he got the water in his mouth. The mother in the water was behaving the way most mothers do while giving birth, despite starting out so peaceful and calm the way the midwife was.
In TV Guide, someone said "Superstore" should do a crossover event with this show since both shows have Cloud 9. I agree! But if the Girls are going to try to take stuff back, they'd better hope Amy and Jonah are not around. And Garrett handles returns, so they'd be out of luck with him too. To succeed they'd need Cheyenne or Glenn.

After seeing Stan and Ruby's warm embrace when he was released from jail, I was surprised to see he was still sleeping on the couch.
Beth is a great organizer. She baked enough food and cookies to open a small shop. It was gratifying to see Dean ask her if she would stop by the dealership to see the new promo. He also wanted to know if she missed her exciting life.
Annie and Ruby are on the bus on their way to Canada with the Scouts. Noah has set up a sting operation to catch them. What could possibly go wrong?
