Nihilism really showcased Ackel’s acting skills. I enjoyed every scene Dean was featured in and it was nice to see he dreamed of happy moments with Pamela. I always liked her and thought her death was tragic. Dean is strong willed, but I am not sure he can keep Michael locked in his head for long without going totally insane.
Michael’s mind tricks seemed to affect Jack. Technically, Jack is still young and he cannot be 100% certain of how the guys feel about him. I hope Jack decides to ignore what Michael said. Then Michael tried to distress Sam and Cas by saying they were a burden to Dean. Cas knew he was lying.
Dean’s Reaper ally returned and saved our boys again. She does not want to see the world burned to the ground either. The one book with the different ending for Dean must have had a shocking outcome. What a tease! I really wanted to know what it said because Dean looked more distressed than I have ever seen him. I jumped to the conclusion that he would have to kill himself, but would that cause him to react the way he did?
Maggie did not lead the smartest group of hunters, but they did have heart. All of them need to spend time on the firing range. The scene when the monsters came into the bunker was so chaotic, I could not tell what happened to the hunters. But I know what would have happened to everyone if Jack had not intervened.

Anti, I couldn't agree more. This was a really good episode. I agree that Ackles really showed his acting chops. For me, this was the first time I really saw Michael in all his glory. Michael seemed angry and hurt that God never re-appeared after he defeated Lucifer in another world. I thought it was an interesting take on God (Chuck) to say that as a writer, God was just writing different versions of his creation and after discovering flaws in each, just moved on and created another world and started over.
Jack looked devastated when Michael told him that Dean, Sam and Castiel didn't love him but thought of him as a job. I hope Jack realizes that Cas is right when told not to believe Michael because he's a liar.
The only parts I didn't care for were the Maggie led group that were going to fight off Michael's monsters. I found the character of Maggie to be a weak character and was glad when Jack saved everyone in the bunker.
When Michael appeared in the bar, Sam thought he would be weak but Michael was pretty powerful still. When Dean said, "My dream, my rules," and shoved Michael into the the storage closet (with Sam's help, of course), I loved it. Of course, we all know how well walls in the mind work...they're temporary and Dean is going to feel Michael raging in there.
When Billie showed up, I wondered why. When she told Dean that all the books revealing his varied methods of death had changed to one.....with Michael escaping Dean's walls and destroying the world, Dean looked shocked. When she told him there was one book with a different ending and gave Dean the book, he looked shattered. What did it say?
Good way to end the winter hiatus. I hope next week lives up to it!

I agree the concept of God/Chuck rewriting flawed scripts was clever - but still hurtful. Starting with season 4, the angels bad behavior started with them feeling abandoned. They hurt God's creation in failed attempts to get his attention. We have gotten clues that Chuck was watching, but chose to not intervene. Michael's daddy issues have destroyed one world and now Dean has the burden of keeping him from destroying our world. I am really intrigued about what Dean saw in that book. His dramatic reaction had me moving closer to the TV and peering as if I could force the words to appear.

Hi, It was a good episode, I liked most of it.
Yes, Jensen brought his A game this week and I was happy to see more of what he created of Michael, so far it has been limited. I liked his dry sense of humor in the bunker when he kept saying, I can hear, I can still hear you, LOL. I am guessing he kept trying to mess with Jack and Cas because he thought it would help him later on, but Cas has been fooled too many times and has finally wised up to the fact that everyone always lies. I liked seeing Death and Dean at the end of the episode and Dean kind of thanking her for getting them out of Hitomi Plaza when the monsters were at the door. His look at seeing his book really makes you wonder what he saw, he usually only looks like that when it involves family, especially Sam. I like how he and Death have this ongoing relationship, a bit of a cat and mouse thing.
I liked Sam and Cas working together, we don't get to see that enough, they play off each other well and both seem to respect the other's opinion, that is something that has developed over the years and I am glad to see that progression, it hasn't always been that way. It was nice to see Sam, Dean and Cas work together to lock Michael in the cooler. ( For those who have never worked in a restaurant, those things are very well built and are scary when you are in there. I worked for a pharmaceutical company and we had a -20 cold room and it was even scarier to be in there)
I like how Cas and Sam are looking out for Jack, but I am not sure he is actually listening. He seemed distant, hurt, and withdrawn ( just like a Winchester) and seems to not care that he is playing with fire by using his powers. He really wants to help and not be a burden but Michael didn't help. I think he needs to hear it from all 3 dads before he will believe it.
I liked all the little Easter eggs in this one. Rocky's bar, the moose Head, Texan Star, Tom's, Cosmic Cowboy, FB and Pamela being in this was great.
What I found boring and a waste of time was the awful hunters and Maggie. Maggie is an awful hunter and I keep waiting to see her die and that speech? Pitiful and yes they all need to spend time in the Bunkers shooting range, cause they suck. Besides Maggie what other hunters made it alive?

novemberschild I am glad you were able to watch the episode. Have the network provider issues been resolved? I like the Easter eggs too; they were nice.

Nov, I hated the Maggie part of the episode as well. Her voice was whiny, I couldn't understand what she was saying most of the time and she seemed very weak to be leading a group of hunters.
