ArchivEl, thank god you're here!
Does the happy dance!
We made a page similar to this in the WB forum we fled to. We were 72 members strong when they struck us down.

I thought I had saved this and hopefully it's still here today, but following advice I had seen on the WB boards before they were deleted, I tried Bing and found a few pages from not only a CW thread but also a WB thread. I did this by moving the mouse to the right after a search for "Tanmi" and clicking on "cached" for these results. I didn't have time to do more. But here's a link to one item I found. You'd better copy and paste that address because somehow it didn't take. cc.bingj.com/cache.aspx?q=tanmi&d=4881071818870889&mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US&w=921a57c,c836fbe3 I should try other threads that have been recreated here.

Go for it, ArchiveEl!

And copying and pasting that address didn't work for some reason. I found several cached pages through Bing, and Google still has some. I only found one page, with ten posts, from the Shipper-Free forum. I'll report back. I have an idea how to make what I found viewable even when Bing and Google figure out these need to be deleted.

I have attempted to preserve what I could find. If anyone knows how to find other search results which are cached somewhere, please try, and if you find cached content, give us links to it. This would have worked so much better several weeks ago. And I should point out that the CW boards were crawled on Christmas day, so even though we couldn't see them, they were there to be seen somehow.
I had links to what I found, but I deleted them when I sent the content to be preserved by the archivers. I have waited for an hour for confirmation that I was successful, which would have given me links to content that supposedly could not be deleted (though anything can), but nothing yet. Maybe Monday.
I found several Tanmi, Merr pages from the WB and CW boards, and several Shipper-Free Forum pages from the CW board and one from the WB board. Each page has 10 posts.

I've collected some posts from the boardreader site, but just from the one thread. I don't know if any of the other threads from the CW site could have been accessed the way I found that one. Google isn't even giving me the boardreader site any more.
And unfortunately, there are numerous problems. Aside from the fact that not all posts were collected, only the first part of each post is shown. And if the post quoted another post, not only is it hard to tell where the replied-to post ends and the new post begins, but in determining how much of each post was preserved, the quoted post we've already seen (probably) is counted. It is actually possible to lose the entire new post if the quoted post was really long, and if the new post was not quoted elsewhere, that's just too bad.
Oh, and this is weird. According to this site, there are poster's named "Mazeman's avatar" and "Merrithews' avatar".
And no smilies.

I was searching for something else yesterday and I found these and sent them to the archive site I went to the last time. Shipper-Free Smallville Forum (two pages, 10 posts each): www.webcitation.org/64b6vH21jwww.webcitation.org/64b6ylWgE Supernatural board, one page (10 posts each) from five threads: www.webcitation.org/64cCEdlvDwww.webcitation.org/64b817gFTwww.webcitation.org/64b7sfPnCwww.webcitation.org/64b7oXrc9www.webcitation.org/64b7kJ9dfAnd just to see if "The Secret Circle", which doesn't seem to have any fans on this site, has anyplace like this for its fans to go, I did a search and found: www.webcitation.org/64b7ZXQDt The crawls were done after we lost access and maybe there's still hope for the archive site to save some of what's there. To manually find these threads, go to Bing, Google or whatever search engine and figure out a set of search terms that you think will make one of our CW threads come up, and if it does, move your mouse to the right of the result and click on "cached page". If you have a way of preserving that page, please do so. I found a site that will do it, although its purpose is really for citing important, reliable information sources that might disappear from the web. And keep in mind there are multiple pages on the threads--sometimes thousands--and for some reason only a single random page in each thread comes up.

This site has archived about 7500 of the 40,000 or so posts from "Tanmi, Irish and Merr, this is for you Whao! This is brilliant! I spent ages and ages last night reading and reminiscing! Thank you! ArchivEl.

I'm going to experiment with something some geeks told me. If I'm successful, I'll report back. I'm planning to come back to these boards with some of the text I've actually saved--provided I can find it.

Okay, this is not something I'm comfortable doing. addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher/And I wouldn't know how to use this if I could download it. Plus you have to have Firefox. The idea is that you can pretend to be a web crawler. I just hope I didn't wait too late to give this advice.

We never got our own lounge at cw though. Most of us post at fanbolt, and http://tvd1.proboards.com....Imdb too but they are a lot of unfriendly people at imdb who like to personally attack us for liking the show.I stay away from imdb a lot but I have been there here and there

We'd definitely like to get all the Secret Circle folks back home with us, Melissa, so if you see someone you think might like to join us, or that you remember from the CW Lounge, send them a PM with our URL: displacedcwloungefan.proboards.com/

That's great. Give it a shot! Just be sure and tell her it's the all of the posters from the CW Lounge, without all the mod stormtroopers and banning they had!

I told her, I told her it was everybody from the regular Cw lounge. I also told her we have general forums too where she talk about other shows not on Cw as well.....I don't know when or if she will get back to me but it was worth a shot.

Thanks, appreciate your trying to bring another member of our family back home. We should have known they were planning to close the boards when they never even created a forum for Secret Circle of any of the other new fall shows at the CW Lounge.

Um, no. I chose it when I decided I wanted to preserve posts on the WB boards. I had other names. Aw my mistake. You just seemed to have been around a long time as ArchivEl. I chose the name even before The WB ended its practice of using AOL screen names. Unfortunately, it was taken. It was in 2004 that The WB changed registration and I was able to use the name. But for comments I had other names which I won't reveal. I was actually one of the pro-Clana trolls. If you weren't a "Smallville" fan that means someone who thought Clark Kent should be with Lana Lang and was very enthusiastic about it.
