That was a good episode.
I'm glad someone commented on Watson's hair.
I was never so glad to see Kitty. Purple hair and all. It's because I liked Emma on "Whiskey Cavalier" and they killed her.
I thought Bell and Gregson didn't belong in the episode, but there was finally a reason for it at the end and I wasn't happy. Still, it has to be pretty serious if Sherlock thinks he can't come back to the United States, and we know he will.
Bell doesn't look right smiling.

Yes, it was a good episode. It looked like a crime that would likely have gone unsolved, but Sherlock's brilliant deduction skills led to the murderer. The strange fingerprint provided the proof they needed.

Another good episode. Even though Joan was the only member of the team that Marcus worked with, Sherlock was working in the background to investigate the shooting of the Captain. Sherlock accompanied Joan when she visited people for questioning.
Sherlock paid the witness to return to the crime scene with him and try to remember everything he heard and saw. That led to the young man remembering he heard a car slam on brakes. Sherlock searched the area and saw the skid marks which indicated the Captain was coming from a direction different than they thought. Sherlock and Joan found other clues that eventually led them to where the Captain was when he was shot.
When they found a body that had been hidden for eight months, they needed to solve that crime in order to solve the Captain’s shooting. That case was interesting, but it raised a lot of issues that were not resolved.
Sherlock is protective of Joan and that was why it was difficult for him to accept Gregson’s actions. I liked Sherlock saying he forgave him and then Paige came around the curtain. I was glad Paige asked how Sherlock got past the officer in the hall because I was wondering why no one was guarding the room. It was a special moment when Paige told Sherlock that Gregson loves him.
I think the real reason Sherlock told Joan to remain in New York is because he wants her to be happy.
I hope Sherlock turning himself in to the FBI works out for him. It did not look as impressive as the opening scene to “The Blacklist” when Reddington turned himself in to the FBI.

I could not believe Sherlock talked to that woman. Was it not possible she would tell someone she was interviewed by a British detective?
And Sherlock picked up the evidence the gun was fired at the baseball field. If they want to have a case against someone, they need to do everything by the book.
The scene where Sherlock was lying on the ground was funny. Also the various problems with the apartment. I am curious how Sherlock's computer was able to stay on without anything to recharge it.
I find it strange Bell now defends Sherlock and Watson. Didn't it bother him having them around at one time?
I did not need to see that body.
I didn't think Sherlock could possibly get in Gregson's room unseen.
I was surprised Sherlock turned himself in but that may be the only way he can really contribute to solving the case.
There seems to be a lot more to this terrorism plot. Sherlock was not fooled by the suspect.

Sherlock invoked his father’s name when he met with the FBI director. He blackmailed the director into clearing his name so he could remain in the country.
The victim, Virgil Gwinn, was killed and staged to look like an accident. I liked the way it took the team a split second to determine the “accident” was actually murder.
Each clue led them closer to the reason behind the murder. The coin collector’s cases had been tampered with but nothing was stolen. Virgil was blackmailing clients. Investigation into the blackmail led them to Florenti, an appraiser, who saw a journal that contained valuable information about oil.
My favorite scene was when Sherlock tricked Florenti into thinking an assassin was trying to kill him. Even though I never thought there was an assassin shooting bullets at the window, I still thought it was funny.
Sherlock was very upset at the way the FBI director cleared his name. He faked a confession from a felon and then made it look like the felon had committed suicide. Also, to prevent Sherlock from retaliating, he said he wrote a letter that stated Joan was the actual killer.
Captain Dwyer, the 30-thousand-foot man, surprised and amused me when he gave them 30 seconds for an update on the case.

That was amazing how Sherlock persuaded the FBI official to clear his name. But things went in a different direction late in the episode. I will say I couldn't believe how Sherlock was talking to this man when he thought he still had leverage.
Dwyer is funnier than Gregson, which would seem to make sense for a show that is occasionally funny, but Gregson is a better character for this show. This is not "Brooklyn Nine-Nine".
It still amazes me that this one precinct seems to investigate murders all over New York City. I thought this was a Major Crimes unit. And yet Dwyer is dividing his time between 11 and 12.
I couldn't believe Bell smiled and then hugged Sherlock. Since when does Bell feel that strongly? He never smiles, and up until a couple of weeks ago I had the impression he didn't care for Sherlock.
And Bell knew!
I liked how Sherlock tricked Florenti with the bullets too. And of course Sherlock woke up Watson in an annoying way.
Interesting that they used real countries and said they were having a war. I don't imagine Ethiopia was too happy about losing its coastline but I don't think they've been fighting quite like that.

Anti, where are you?
"Kill Zombies Dead" seems like a good idea. The CW finally got rid of all its vampires (or did they? I'm not sure). Now they have to get rid of their zombies.
I knew Sherlock would have to call on Everyone when I heard he needed hackers. And they had quite a prank for him to do. Now I don't know what is supposed to happen in the bathroom …
I was so happy the captain woke up. And now we know the man who shot him was lying. There are some details missing.
I'm enjoying this show so much that I hate to see it end.

They kept pointing out the difference between a pig and a hog. A pig is a pet. A hog is for eating.
Bell is usually by himself these days, or with Sherlock, who is not a cop. The captain used to be with him most of the time. You would think he'd have a partner.
And he said he was with Major Cases. So is he with the 11th or with Major Cases? What is Dwyer's connection with Major Cases? Dwyer still seems clueless.
The billionaire wanted to make sure Sherlock and Watson would do whatever it took, even break the law.
Sherlock woke up Watson in an annoying way. Which reminds me I need to go back to the Vent Thread.
Watson didn't seem too annoyed about the napalm.
I liked how the one suspect criticized Sherlock's bedside manner. Yeah, he didn't need to describe how a person would die. I had to do something and froze the video at that point and Sherlock actually seemed to be smiling about that.

My enjoyment of this season is similar to how much I enjoyed the first seasons. I look forward to seeing the next episode. Although I have not been able to post, I did view the episodes when they aired and enjoyed them.
7.5 Holmes and Watson must find the connection between three unrelated murders. Billionaire Odin Reichenbach suspects he is being threatened by someone in his own company and hires Holmes and Watson to find the perpetrator.
I like the way Sherlock wakes Joan from a peaceful slumber. I remember she retaliated once by playing a trick on him.
Bell has been in the series for seven seasons so it is good he is taking the lead in investigating some of the cases. I vaguely recall Bell and Sherlock saying the other cops were resentful of Bell because Sherlock helped him to clear so many cases. That might be why Bell does not have a partner.
I always thought Gregson and Bell were Major Case. Major Case has to work out of a precinct, don't they?
Captain Dwyer makes me laugh. He still has his own precinct to run and he is definitely not interested in getting bogged down in details.
Sometimes I am not interested or do not like the adversary in a series, but Elementary has interesting ones. Odin Reichenbach, the billionaire, might be either an ally or adversary. I think I will enjoy seeing him as either. I think a major point Reichenbach made was that Sherlock has done illegal things and should be open minded regarding the man who shot the Captain. There is a much bigger plan that will be revealed and they want Sherlock to be an ally.

The writers must have been careful to make sure there is no reference to any particular software. This company seems to dominate the computer industry more than any real company. It sounds like they have search engines, software and social media. Microsoft dominates in software but Google has the dominant search engine. I don't think either one is dominant in social media.
I never watched "Person of Interest" but this sounds like a violent version of it.
The health problem the boxer had is one I'm all too familiar with. There was a time when I was constantly hearing commercials on not only the radio stations that play the music I like online, but also the real radio station that used to play that music without the louder more annoying songs. "My number two doesn't look like a number two. Is there a number three?"
Watson asked Sherlock "Are you pregnant?"
I don't think Sherlock annoyed Watson by waking her up this episode but seems like there was a reference to an annoying way to wake up. NOW I remember what goes on the Vent thread. I know Sherlock did something to annoy Watson. Oh, yeah, he was wearing that helmet and Watson startled HIM. Other than that I forget.
I thought the audio was too clear when Sherlock had his big meeting. I couldn't imagine where a microphone would go.
There was one scene where Sherlock mentioned knowing people. He meant Everyone.
Having Dwyer on the show seems pointless. I know Bell needs to tell him stuff, but he seems too clueless to be a captain. Holt is too good a character but Dwyer seems like he would fit in at the 9-9.
This show is too entertaining right now. That makes it harder knowing this is the last season.
And yet all this knowledge the bad guys have about Sherlock and those he knows is disturbing. Sherlock wouldn't even explain the problem to Watson at the end.

I agree it certainly does sound like a violent version of “Person of Interest”. Instead of trying to protect an individual, they want to murder people who might commit a crime.
It seems Reichenbach is sincere in his belief that he is doing something good. However, they blackmailed a man into doing something he did not want to do when he had to shoot a bullet into a room even though it was not a kill shot. Reichenbach wants Holmes to voluntarily join his team, but Agent McNally’s threats might make that impossible. Holmes cares too much about Watson and the others for him to even burden her with knowledge of the threats.
I do not feel the same way as you about Capt. Dwyer, but that’s ok. The promos showed Capt. Gregson will be back next week.
I am also enjoying this season too much to see it end. The cases have been worthy enough to hold Sherlock’s interest.

I liked the welcome back party for Capt. Gregson and the huge shield was a humorous gesture. Too bad Dwyer turned out to be a jerk when it concerned women.
When the police described Dineen robbing drug pushers, I immediately thought of Omar from “The Wire”. Sherlock was not familiar with that pop culture reference.
The local news kept warning people to not touch drugs because fentanyl could harm you if it got on your skin. All of the police were required to wear gloves before touching someone who had overdosed, etc. I was surprised when Sherlock said that was not true. Of course, Sherlock was correct when he said fentanyl on Dineen’s skin was not what killed him.
Throughout the episode, Sherlock and Joan pronounced Cecil’s name differently and I was amused by that. Cecil and his partner were both educated and gifted individuals, but they ruined their lives because of greed.
Involvement of Russian spies and the Bratva was a little complicated, but Sherlock figured it out. ("Arrow" became an ally and friend of the Bratva so I am very familiar with them.) I liked Joan being the one to see and analyze the clue in the memo that was posted to the wall at the DEA.
I am a little amused each time Bell gives a suspect detailed information on why they suspect the person of a crime. I am glad that not every suspect immediately admits they are guilty. That always seemed illogical to me.

I've seen stories about how bees are dying and I am reminded that we haven't heard what happened to Sherlock's hives.
I liked the party too and the shield. I was hoping Gregson would do something special with it.
Gregson is really back. He wasn't just taking it easy because of what he had been through.
Dwyer was right in a sense about Gregson appreciating the hard work he did. Gregson said he must be good or they wouldn't have given him two precincts, but I never saw evidence he was good at his job. I was really hoping Dwyer didn't do anything wrong, but this was the only way to make the topic a part of the show. Because Getgson is too good to be true, like so many TV characters.
Sherlock didn't know Scrooge McDuck. I did. Mickey Mouse was Crachit in Disney's "Christmas Carol" and Scrooge was, of course, Scrooge.
I didn't notice about the pronunciation of Cecil but "zebra" was also pronounced differently.
Bell shouldn't have to take the cases of the female detective. We already know how busy he is.
I didn't know the stripper in the "previously" but I liked her as a teacher. I was naturally not prepared for how the Russians handled their problem.

Even though Sherlock was caught off guard by the explosion, he did not intend to report what really happened.

It was interesting that the episode began with them giving the solution to a case. The perp placed a yellow yoga ball in the victim’s car. He had filled the ball with carbon monoxide and pricked the ball so that it would leak while the woman was driving.
Cassie Lenue (LNU) waited for Sherlock at the brownstone until he showed up. She claimed she wanted to hire Sherlock to investigate the murder of someone who was very close to her. Although Sherlock did not believe her, he agreed to investigate so that he could find out what she was up to. I enjoyed seeing Sherlock’s signature look of distaste while he observed Cassie.
When Heather’s husband said they were married only four years and he had never met Cassie prior to that time, I suspected Cassie made up the relationship and I thought she was setting Sherlock up.
Although the case about the baby formula was interesting, it was used as an elaborate backstory for Cassie to be the next “Kitty”. She will be a protégé under Sherlock’s guidance. Therefore, I have to trust her – for a while anyway.

I liked the scene with the yellow yoga ball. And it's not the first time they only gave us the solution and not the process.
I didn't remember the case but if it happened in 2014 I'm sure I could find my comments about it here.
I like Cassie and she's quite intelligent and has promise as a detective but she can't really do much as a cast member when this series is almost over.
I did like Sherlock's behavior whenever he indicated he didn't trust Cassie.
I didn't suspect Cassie of lying even when she claimed Sherlock was her father.
As usual, Everyone got involved but we didn't hear what they expected Sherlock to do in exchange for their help.
No annoying Watson this week.

Clyde was mentioned. What did they do with him?
I'm glad Sherlock finally told Watson why he kept a secret from her.
I interpreted one person's comment as meaning dogs don't have enemies. I do not like dogs.
I'm worried that they're going to end this series by killing off Watson. I don't care if it is over. That just can't happen.

I thought it was funny when Joan said the Mail Carrier knew everything about Clyde as if Sherlock talks about his pet a lot.
The man who stole the drugs seemed like a total loser. He did not care that his sister could take some blame for his actions. Also, murdering the dog owner seemed extreme and unnecessary.
It had never crossed my mind that they would kill Watson. Now that you mention it, I think that would be a horrible way to end the series.
Does Watson ever exhibit a sense of humor?
