I watch Manifest, but it's getting kinda stupid. I thought so too. I enjoyed the mystery, but after they solved the mystery, it became tedious. I am a couple of episodes behind.

I watch Manifest, but it's getting kinda stupid. I thought so too. I enjoyed the mystery, but after they solved the mystery, it became tedious. I am a couple of episodes behind. There was a clue on "Jeopardy!" about the Triangle Shirtwaist fire. Something like that happened and the callings were important in saving lives. Someone was believed to be dead and a major character just shut down as a result. Then callings were important again. This one reminded me of those monks that had a hit record.

When I checked my playlist, I saw I needed to watch episodes 2 - 8 to catch up. I really enjoyed watching the seven episodes back-to-back. I had been reluctant to watch because I thought there would be too much focus on the 828 survivors being targeted by haters. I am pleased that each episode investigated an interesting calling that helped people.
Episodes 7 and 8 were dramatic and frightening because the X'ers were determined to harm the survivors, but the real danger came from an unexpected source.
I enjoyed Olive and her father working together. She should no longer feel left out because she will be included in the planning and research now.
Jared is a big mystery to me. I would understand if Michaela's actions drove him to be sour on the 828, but I am not convinced he would flip. Capt. Bowers did not seem disturbed about Jared's involvement.

Weird how Olive can't even see the storm. Because those who are able to are really scared by it.
Michaela was arrested for the fire. I liked how the union representative stood up for her, though.
Maybe Saanvi hasn't found an ideal solution because it's doing terrible things to her. It sounded last week like someone referred to spending time with zombies because I didn't even know what her name was.
One thing that has bothered me for weeks is that old book was just lent out and is being touched repeatedly. In this day and age, all they should be able to get is an image of everything in it. Books like that need to be preserved.

Weird how Olive can't even see the storm. Because those who are able to are really scared by it. I was surprised when she told the group that there was no storm. She observed their strange behavior, but could not guess what it was that they saw. I am not sure how to word this, but it seems like you might have missed something. Michaela's union representative was putting on a show for her benefit. He was colluding with the IA man and woman and also with the college board member who runs the X-ers. The representative demanded they continue at another location so Michaela could be killed before they got there. Jared arrested her to prevent her murder. Zombies - too funny! Saanvi is so determined to offer a cure, Ben might not be able to stop her unless they restrain her. I did not like the way the book was being mishandled. TJ said it could be loaned only to a professor. I guess the assumption was that a professor would handle with care. Ben is too overwhelmed to think about the damage he might do to the book. If they rip a page out, that would be too much. *** Poor Cal was so upset that he could not build the ship correctly. TJ was also very emotional. But we learned the Calling was the cause for their behavior. If they do not stop "Zombie", it might get worse.

Course Deviation
This episode is looking at the dark side of the callings. Grace received a calling and saw herself near a body of water and heard someone call for help. Ben helped her to identify the location and they went there. There they saw Adrian and he had the same calling. Ben was still angry with Adrian about the fire in the club and was harsh with him. Grace started having labor pains and Ben left to take her to the hospital. Adrian remained and shortly heard a cry for help. He dove in the water and brought the man to safety.
After much drama and soul searching, Ben told the on-call surgeon to save Grace even though the baby’s blood pressure was falling. I did not think for even one moment that they would let the baby die. Miracle of miracles, the man Adrian rescued was the only surgeon in the area that could save both Grace and the baby.
After the surgery, Ben approached Adrian and told him the calling was a miracle. Adrian offered an alternate view that the callings caused accidents and other mishaps so that 828 members would come to the rescue, eventually leading them to obey the callings with blind faith. He used the example that Grace slipped and fell near the water, causing the premature labor. Therefore, the calling led to the emergency.
Cal Stone saw shadow beings appear on one of his drawings. Adrian saw shadow beings surrounding him in an alley. They seemed menacing. Adrian did not convince Ben the callings are manipulating them, but he convinced me they are evil.
There was exciting drama involving Jared, Zeke, Billy, Simon, Michaela and the Captain.

There was exciting drama involving Jared, Zeke, Billy, Simon, Michaela and the Captain. I did not think for one minute they would let Grace die and figured the baby might die and everyone would be really sad. The fact is I don't like it when mothers on TV want to sacrifice themselves for their babies. It happened on "The Good Doctor" and there was no happy ending. Doing this sort of thing sends the message to the extreme pro-lifers that the baby must be saved at all costs, never mind what happens to the mother. I am pro-choice on abortion, although I don't like the act itself, especially as birth control. But when it comes down to choosing between mother and baby, I side with saving the mother. I respect that the pro-life people want to keep babies from dying even if they're not technically babies yet. And choosing to give birth after rape or incest is a choice. Just not one that should be forced. I liked how Michaela and Jared appeared to be getting criticized when in fact they were working on the case.

I agree it would be very disappointing if Manifest ended the season prematurely.
Now that you mention it, there has been speculation that some shows might end their seasons early rather than call everyone back for more filming.

I did not trust the captain until we saw how she made it seem that she was criticizing Jared and Michaela. That was amusing. I agree with you that it sends the wrong message when the mother wants to sacrifice herself.
