I'm a day late, but the holidays have mean I've had a lot to do. And it means the opposite for next week, when the numbers won't be ready, but I'll post what I can and come back later.

Lots of football on the two days I've done so far. And the different conferences have a wide range of popularity. A lot of the more popular games (this is true with the NFL too) took place outside of prime time, but prime time is what has been posted here all these years. And if a game began before prime time but ended later than 8, or 7 on Sundays, remember the number provided is for the whole game. And a pre-game show that lasts eight minutes isn't going to be listed here at all, even if it was on the main list.

Some of these touching holiday specials aren't getting such great numbers, so there must be another reason why they keep doing them.

Not sure what's going on with "The Masked Singer". The main list says episode 1 was at 8:44, while the list of shows for which the target audience went up or down from preliminary numbers says 8:00. Must be a reference to the West. Something similar seems to have happened for "Bob's Burgers" number one on Sunday, and "The Simpsons" I'll have to get from the preliminary numbers.

Okay, fixed.

The CW essentially took the week off. Something called "Dogs of the Year" got the best numbers, while "Swamp Thing" recovered from whatever happened last week. The magicians can't make the Christmas magic happen, and "Whose Line" loses whenever there's just one after a 90-minute special.

CBS can't have a new "NCIS" every week, and that really hurts. At least the Thursday shows were new this week but I remember Thursdays on CBS doing so much better.

I will be here early next week, but the ratings won't be. Holidays cause delays, but I'll post what I can when I can.

“Swamp Thing” and “Outpost” are my favorites on that CW list. People never gave “Outpost” a chance even though it is entertaining.
