This week is different. Toby vs. Kate was miserable to watch and things kept happening.
Jack and Rebecca celebrated their 10th anniversary with Rebecca getting drunk. It was funny. And then the kids mistreated the baby sitter who seemed unlikely to ever come back. Also funny. But the parents were impressed the kids worked together.
Miguel and Rebecca tried to celebrate their 10th anniversary but like I said, things kept happening. Some of them were funny.
Jack Jr. had a major role. He is quite intelligent for such a little kid. And going to the park with his parents was nice.

I'm not sure whether to recommend the episode.
The good news is that while the relationship between Kate and Toby was shown moving forward, the episode started with the wedding to Phillip and moved backward to when it began. There was a funny scene with Toby and Phillip in a sports bar.
However, they shouldn't have given us hope. We knew what was going to happen so why make us miserable?

Watching Kate and Toby fight was awful to watch. I think Toby was trying harder to save the marriage than Kate. When the baby walked out, I said if Kate had not been yelling and fussing at Toby, it would not have happened. Later, Toby said the same thing. I do not post complaints on Twitter, but I made an exception about the episode. I told the writers I was disappointed that so much of the final season focused on Kate's misery. The upside is I found kindred spirits on Twitter who feel the same way.
In the wedding episode, I enjoyed the ladies gossiping about who was in Kevin's room. That seemed so natural.
Once again, Randall undermined what Miguel was trying to do regarding Rebecca. I prefer seeing helpful Randall.

I'm not sure how Randall undermined Miguel but he did criticize him.

I was referring to when Miguel said all he wanted to do was get one hour of relief while they did the wine tasting. Randall kept bringing up topics that Miguel asked him to drop. Then, Miguel got angry with him.

Then, Miguel got angry with him. Yeah, I was thinking of the meaning where Miguel does something and Randall stops that from happening. And it looks like we will learn more about Miguel next week. I'm not sure what to say when I haven't seen what you saw. It was mostly a pleasant episode but like every episode of this series it has to make us miserable with arguments and such. But it was interesting to learn what Kevin did with all those women. And we even saw him meet Sophie for the first time as a little boy sending valentines at school. He still had one!

I enjoyed the Kevin episode. He is always gentle with women even when they insult or disappoint him. It was amusing when the family applauded the kiss as if to say "finally!". I could see no one else being "the one".
The wedding singer was observant. I am guessing she wrote the poem based on seeing Kevin pining for his true love. Then he used the poem in the right moment. I was happy we did not see them making love.
I like Miguel and want to see his story.

It was quite a story. I never thought of Miguel as an immigrant because he doesn't even have an accent.
His family meant a lot to him and family was important. But his need to move ahead in his job alienated his father and messed up Christmas.
I don't believe we ever saw what happened when he and Rebecca reunited but I liked those scenes so much. Except for Rebecca ending up in bed with him.
It's scary to think Rebecca can't get along without him. And the way the episode ended, that will happen. On the other hand, it's almost all over.
And I don't want it to be over.

I enjoyed the Miguel episode too. I did not know it was going to end that way and it startled me when I saw them spreading ashes. An online article reminded me there was a similar scene where the children spread Jack's ashes under a tree.
It made me smile when Kevin approached Miguel's son because Kevin was the most outspoken critic of his mother's relationship with Miguel.
Jack cleverly left his best friend with Rebecca so they would have to talk to each other.

That was a difficult episode to get through, and it's about to get worse.
On the other hand, there were plenty of scenes with Rebecca as a young mother which were enjoyable.
Kevin came up with the right solution.

Rebecca's final moments episode was enjoyable. Everyone had time to say goodbye.
Deja and Marcus had a wonderful and successful life. There were six degrees of separation between Jack and Marcus that was surprising.

There were six degrees of separation between Jack and Marcus that was surprising. I don't think Deja and Marcus are together. I thought they were but her man showed up and she called him Malik. The episode was actually more pleasant than I was expecting. The train confused me because that looked like William and she would have never been with him at that age. She visited him only to tell him to stay away. Once she started seeing everyone in her life, it made sense. The episode ran over but on another site there was a video of what we missed if we recorded it. I have prepared just in case for next week.

Yes, she was with Malik. My mind was trying to understand why so much time was spent on Marcus. The significance was that he found a cure for Alzheimer’s. I think they rushed through Rebecca’s time with Miguel as if to minimize his significance.

The finale was okay. I am glad they kept the funeral remarks in the background and showed more scenes with the family.
I am happy that the remaining family members and extended family have good lives.

I wish they had done more of the funeral. The flashbacks were pleasant but what kind of an ending is that?
