I'm early this week. I won't be next week, more than likely. Even if I get here Tuesday, which is unlikely, the ratings probably won't be ready.

But I can't be here next Wednesday.

Some observations from this week.

"The Masked Singer" was number one on Wednesday with most audiences. "Survivor" scored higher with men and old people. Obviously, Chicago Wednesdays being reruns helped.

"The Flash" did better than other CW shows have, but not as well as it used to. Meanwhile, the magicians made their audience disappear but not as completely, and "Riverdale" still has the mystery of where its viewers went.

And Joe continues to be Ordinary. His show and three others appear on their way to cancellation just based on total viewers.

Adele is very popular. Why I can't answer.

I've heard of "20/20" having a special event but the ratings aren't usually like this. I had to investigate and I did remember seeing something about "A Diane Sawyer Special Event" titled "Escape from a House of Horrors". Well, it was. Number one in total viewers and in every demographic.

Other than that, keep in mind NBC's Sunday football coverage does not have reliable numbers (or any numbers on the site I use) and the Fox pre-game show starts before prime time and ends seven minutes into prime time, so it isn't included. The show that follows it is.

That'll do it for this week. I can say already that the American Music Awards didn't do well at all. That's already up.

Like I said, even if the numbers are ready Tuesday, and they might not be, I might not make it here until Thursday.

I hope no one minds that I didn't include the Fox pre-game show on Saturday which starts before prime time and includes only three minutes in prime time. Or the three minute show that followed it. Or the postgame show on ABC which includes only seven minutes in prime time.
