I'm back. However, Saturday numbers are not ready, so you'll just have to wait for those. And that means any number on the left except for football is last week's.

Interesting development for The CW. "Masters of Illusion" was an hour last week with 600,000 viewers when rounded. This week, two separate episodes with 300,000 viewers each (rounded). "Popstar's Best" apparently wasn't, for The CW.

Ironic: Barbara Walters was at ABC longer than NBC, and she was still at ABC when (if?) she retired. But it was NBC's coverage that got more viewers. "20/20" was 30 minutes, while "Dateline" went for an hour and 11 minutes. But "Dateline" had the better lead-in.

NBC did something very strange on Thursday. They aired the three versions of "Law & Order" in reverse order the first two were 43 minutes while the third was 47, which is also how long "The Wheel" was.

9.7 million watched Thursday Night Football, with 4.3 million watching the pre-game.

I'm not sure I should even bother with a four-minute pre-game for a college bowl game, much less the last 3 minutes of the 33-minute pre-game show which began 30 minutes before prime time. Still, there it is. I also don't know why there are two pre-game shows shown separately.

A possible explanation for "Chicago PD" getting higher numbers than "Chicago Fire": fewer people watched the first time. However, the Kennedy Center Honors ended.

The Ocean Emergency is the situation The CW finds itself in.

Although the commentary keeps saying "The Wheel" is down, it's up each night over the previous week. But that's because the commentary is always about 18-49 while I list total viewers. And if it's not enough that the show seems to air every night, "The Wall" also had an episode.

Kindness may have gone viral, but not for CBS viewers.

"Celebrity Jeopardy" is getting great numbers for reruns.

CBS doesn't usually have a post-game show before "60 Minutes". The strategy didn't work this time as the show got way lower numbers.

Notice how "The Wheel" got the same number of total viewers (rounded) on four of its five nights. Amazing.

As usual, funny animal videos came through.

For the New Year's Eve specials, for some reason there was a second episode at 10:30 on ABC and CBS and the number is for an hour, even if it didn't end in prime time. Outside of prime time, "New Year's Rockin' Eve" had 13.7 million viewers starting at 11:30. No wonder they showed a separate number for that time slot. And the numbers were huge in every target audience. Especially women. Actually, not that many seniors watched but it was still number one with that audience.

Back next Wednesday, with no problems expected.
