I'm back.

In the old days, The Super Bowl would have been the No. 1 show this week. But a few summers ago Saturday's ratings were missing and I started going from Sunday through Saturday each week. But I have those numbers now if you want to see them.

First of all, commentary from the web site where I get these numbers, always referring to 18-49:

"All the English-language networks that weren’t FOX aired reruns, none rating higher than 0.18. FOX: The SUPER BOWL was massive at 33.78, up 4.31 from 2022’s game, a hefty 15% increase (with a similar bump in total viewers)."

Now, on to total viewers. This web site has every time period starting at 1:00. For all the pre-game coverage, which is not in prime time and wouldn't have been listed here anyway, the rounded numbers of viewers in millions are 4.4, 6.0, 7.0, 8.3, 9.8, 12.6, 16.7, 22.6, 32.8, and finally, for the final pre-game program listed starting at 6:00, 70.0. For men, for that show and the game itself, 100.0. For women for the game, 100.0. I actually don't know what that number means. I just know it's way higher than the number for any other program not on Fox.

For the game itself, they had to change the font size because there wasn't enough room in the box. 112,173 is the total number of viewers in thousands. Next week that will be listed here as 112.2.

The post-game show had 88.2 million viewers for the first seven minutes (for men 99.9, women 91.0, and again, I don't know what those numbers mean) and 58.5 million for the final 14 minutes. "Next Level Chef" made its debut with 15.7 million viewers.

Wow! "Ghosts" made it to 7.0. Not quite, but rounded.

The CW did slightly better with different magicians. "Kung Fu" being new didn't help much, and "The Flash" didn't exactly take off. "Walker" and its spinoff are still reruns.

Wednesday nights on ABC, "Not Dead Yet" got a good start but not that many stayed around for the second one. I don't get why the second one is labeled as the premiere but I guess they mean premiere in the time slot. However, "Abbott" did better than "The Conners" with young people.

I should have mentioned "Young Sheldon" too. That could be a record.

New episodes are back on CBS Mondays.

Whether there was advertising or not (post-speech analysis might have had it) the site provided numbers for the State of the Union speech and the pre-speech and post-speech analysis, as well as the Republican Response, for the Big Three, and one number for all coverage for Fox. There were different titles for the pre-speech and post-speech analysis, but I used one title for everything on all three networks regardless of what abbreviated title was used.

If you're interested, Fox News was the big winner with 4.7 million viewers for the speech and 4.8 for analysis afterward, 4.3 million for analysis before the speech, and 4.7 million for the Republican Response. CNN had 2.4 million for the speech, 2.2 million for analysis afterward and 1.6 million for the Republican Response. I don't see a number for pre-speech analysis for CNN but they had another post-speech show later with 1.1 million viewers. MSNBC had one number for everything, 2.3 million, and 2.1 million watched analysis after it was all over.

That's it. Wow, it sure looks different without football, and after next week it'll be that way every week.

Fox did NOT score a Perfect 10 on Saturday. I don't even know what that is.
