3.12 The Ties That Bind; 1/19/12 Discussion

WARNING! I get to watch TVD an hour earlier then on the CW so if you don't want to be spoiled don't read this until after you get see it yourself.

I gave this episode a seven. It wasn't terrible by any means but it seemed to be a slow episode and be borderline boring at parts. Bonnie and Elena went to see Bonnie's mother for help becuase of a dream Bonnie had. I loved it when they first got there and Bonnie was awkwardly asking if her and the guy they met there (can't remember his name) were related. Alaric and the doctor girl seem to be getting pretty close. I was surprised that Alaric was telling everything he knew about hunting vampires and his secrets. WTH? Didn't they just meet in last weeks episode? Don't mind if he moves on to someone else after Jenna dying now but you would think he wouldn't reveal everything about him after only knowing each other for a few days or so. Caroline's dad helped Tyler to break his sire to Kluase. You could tell he was doing it becuase he loves Caroline and wants to be with her. Awww! In order to break being sired he has to make himself turn into a werewolf! I was suprised when Tyler turned and it looked like he got Caroline's dad! He lost too much blood so in the hospital the girl doctor (I so have to look up her name after ) gave him vampire blood so he's a vampire now! I don't think he will like that. Back at Bonnies moms, I loved it when after the guy shot Stephan and Elena got tied up. She tricked him to loosen the ropes and she knocked him out with his gun. Badass Elena FTW! I loved the scenes when Elena was taking out the bullet wounds and she confessed about kissing Damon. It seemed to really affect Stephan and it seemed like we got a glimpse of the old Stephan back. I miss the old Stephan and am ready for him to come back. You could tell it really did affect Stephan when he punched Damon when he brought up Elena. The ending was a shocker for me. Elijah is back!!! What!?!?!?! I don't do reviews often so I hope I wasn't too bad at this. So this episode wasn't bad but it wasn't as gripping as TVD shows usually are. Oh, and I was really bummed that Tom Welling wasn't in it. Looks like he really is dead.

Elena gave up after telling Stefan this the whole time.

Wait... Caroline's dad is a vampire now? He wasn't dead with vampire blood in his system. The way I understood it was that he wasn't going to make it and so she gave him vampire blood to heal him because vampire blood heals. Did I miss something? lol

the blood just healed him not turned him. And Elena still has feelings for Stefan but I dont get how she said she doesnt feel guilty about it. hmmmm lol

Oh the vampire blood just healed him? Since when can that happen? I just thought that if you died with vampire blood in your system then you turn into a vampire and that was it. The doctor said he wasn't going make it cause he lost too much blood so to stay "alive" she gave him vampire blood. Am I forgetting an important part of TVD here?

You need to go back and watch the old eps, hun lol. Vampire blood heals. It's been like that since the beginning of the show. Elena's had injuries and Stefan has given her his blood to heal her, stuff like that. Vampire blood has always been able to heal injuries. That's how Caroline became a vampire. She still had vampire blood in her system when Katherine killed her.

Yes, he did sustain a lot of blood loss, but blood transfusions are also available for that and the injuries that were inflicted on him were serious. He would have to die with that vampire blood in his system to become a vampire. She gave him the vampire blood to heal him.

Somehow I completely forgot about the whole vampire blood being able to heal someone and I still don't remember it. I don't own any of the seasons and rarely watch episodes more than the one time it airs on tv. I see I have a Vampire Diaries marathon on the horizon for me. Who knows what all else I have forgotten?
