I am not interested in any of the new spoilers. I would be excited if I knew Sam is in this episode not only as extra/supernumerary with a soulful look but as a human being with feelings.
This season is certainly a Dean season like last season was more a Sam season. But even when it was all about Sam's soulless and the soul of Sam, we got almost no POV. That was in "unforgiven" and we got a glimpse in "The man who knew to much". That were the Sam centric episodes last season. Soulless Sam was not Sam, and no POV....The first half was soulless Sam and here after epi 6 we knew what was wrong with him and after the return of his soul Sam was almost mute in most of the episodes, bla....blech me=very angry
This season its all about Dean but with only Dean POV. we got 1 episode "Hello Cruel World" that was SamPOV and I imagine one(!) another Sam centric episode this season. Add to this that Jared is becoming a daddy ( ) and understandable wants time off I think the writers didn't give much thought about Jareds absence meaning Sam's absence. But me as someone who is connected to Sam I think its really a downer even more. When they would handle Sam's issues with SamPOV, Sam insight, I would be the very last person to blame some absence from Jared/Sam because they ..can...do this right but I think they don't care and they won't think twice about Sam in the series
So we have season 6 with all about Sam but barely Sam's POV and only two episodes with insight in Sam...and then we have season 7 wich is all about Dean abd massively DeanPOV and nonetheless only 2 episodes with Sam insight.
Of course ...this season is not finished, bit I gave up excitement, hope for more Sam and Sam insight, follow up. What Sam lives through and how Sam is affected, the writers don't give a penny....Its Dean's affections, reactions, frustrations, disappointments, fears, depressions, losses, relationships, happinesses...what matters to the writers, Sam doesn't...But I have to admit how the writers are writing Dean is for me disappointing too.
The heart of the show is very sick, it beats not balanced, and one of the heart ventricles is cutted away (from the audience [blood]). When you feed (or delivers with blood) only one of them the other one is dying and can't live on.
Maybe in the end killing Amy was right, but how Dean treated Sam, saying one thing doing another was not right. Dean lied Sam outright in his face and I didn't think when I saw the episode first, that Dean was trying to protect Sam in not saying. It was like Dean knows what is right and he didn't trust Sam.
I would have preferred that they both give Amy a chance and threaten to come back when they ever hear from her killing people again.
The supposed Sam centric episode was in the least Sam centric, but it was showcased as Sam centric. I felt outright down after this episode aired, I felt let down regarding Sam from this episode and since this particular episode aired I am feeling let down by the writers regarding Sam. When now all those new spoilers come out, I don't feel any hope for SamPOV, I only think ahhhh another DeanPOV, Dean centric one disguised as Sam centric. It will be how Dean feels when Sam goes crazy, and how Dean feels when Sam is locked up and in the same time Dean has his encounter with Castiel while Sam is out of sight and also out of Dean's mind. Yeah, Dean I know from the past wouldn't be like that. But I see it that way thinking of the spoilers.
And all what Jared said in his last interviews take further hope away for SamPOV, Sam insight, and Sam doing the right thing, its more its time for DeanPOV how he feels, and Sam is already shown this year. Shown in the intro when he is pushing his wound in his hand and seeing Lucifer, that is the Sam insight I expect, like in the intro, the rest of the episode is how Dean feels about this and about that, Sam is in the corner and feeling fine despite Jared said we saw Sam struggling and he prefers to show the human aspect, the human struggles, fallout, repercussions of Sam's life and experiences. But there is nada, nothing, a blank paper. They say Sam's soulful looks are tellling his story, I see them too, but its frankly to little and to late.
I am still adjusting to this feelings of mine regarding the series. You all know how much I love Sam (and Dean too) Nowadays its just a little harder to empathize with Dean despite his inner is layed in the open. And to see any of Sam I focus the more on him, its the fault of the writers, I think it was a huge mistake to cut Sam out after S7E2.
