It has been nice but quite warm. Now it's wet and staying in the 70s. At least the weather was mostly good in the mountains.

Wet all week. Most of the day it was dry but just looked like it would rain, except on Thursday when I don't think it ever quit raining until I got home. At least I got to go walk at the mall, which is almost empty but in the process of being turned into offices. Which means I never saw certain gas stations.
Never got out of the 70s. But it didn't get cold either.
Over the weekend it gets better.

Made it to 90 yesterday. No rain all weekend.
Severe weather possible today.

Really bad weather in my area, but not where I live. Lots of damage reports just to the north.
Then it was nice the rest of the week other than today, except it always looks like something is burning near by. Highs at or close to 90 every day.
Today it has looked like it was about to rain all day, and it was drizzling when I went outside.
And it just gets worse from here.

93 Saturday and 94 Sunday according to the CBS affiliate web site. But it felt hotter. Some people got lucky and had rain. I heard a lot of thunder but the rain mostly went around. Damage was reported south of me this time. No rain here yesterday.

Low or mid 90s all week and eventually it rains in some areas. A flash flood warning for my county, though where I live I mostly just heard thunder. Then last night it really rained for a few minutes. But no one bothered to show me what had been happening for the previous three hours after the newscast I actually recorded. Should I record the 7:00 news too?
Same each day for a while.

95 on Friday, the hottest so far this summer. 92 on Saturday but that was after it rained. There was rain where I live earlier than there usually is on days like we've had lately but the sun came back out.
Yesterday it wasn't even 90, and the rain started around noon but then quit after maybe an hour.
It looked like rain today but the sun came out instead. But no more 90s are in the forecast and starting tomorrow no more rain.

95 yesterday and I heard thunder but the storm I was hearing fizzled out, after damage reports. Another one was more potent but never me it this far.
Low 90s on the other days. This pattern continues.

Back in the 90s each day, and that continues.
No rain all weekend. Thunder on Saturday but the rain passed to the north. Same later when there was a serious line of thunderstorms heading this way, and that line was falling apart anyway.

Most days it didn't even make it to 90 but we kept being told about the heat index. I was not expecting to wake up Wednesday with it raining, and the amazing thing is that two different stations showed that same shower going across the state and by afternoon, the shower developed into something serious. I had already seen the damage reports at the beginning of one newscast before seeing that shower being followed. But that's not the end of it. One station chose to show that same shower going across the entire country.
There was also a heavy shower where I live late in the day.
Yesterday it looked like it was about to rain all day long and then it did start raining just a little.
Over the weekend things get better.

It is currently 89 degrees in El Cajon, it has been hot like that mostly almost every day since I arrived here nearly two weeks ago. Thankfully we have air conditioning and windows that help but it does make it a tad uncomfortable at times.

No highs in the 90s lately, though two of the past three days have started out looking like rain. Mostly the rain bypassed where I live, but there have been damage reports in other parts of the area.
But then it gets hot again.

No 90s over the weekend. It looked like rain on Saturday morning. And there was a serious line of thunderstorms headed this way but it never made it. It did get windy.
It's supposed to be cooler, if you can call it that, this week.

90 on Monday, when it was supposed to be cooler. No 90s since then, though, and it didn't even make it to 80 yesterday. But the sun never came out and it rained a lot of the time. Today was the day it was supposed to rain but it only looked like it.

Back in the 90s both days but no rain Saturday. A serious line of thunderstorms came through yesterday with no real problems where I live but thousands lost power. And we're about to have a repeat, though farther north. It seems to be headed this way.

Several areas had either tornadoes or wind that caused a lot of damage. From the sound of it as the meteorologist stayed on constantly during the 6:00 news, it would have been better for me not to go where I was going on Tuesday because there would be damage and power outages. Not true. I couldn't tell anything had happened. Sure, there were lots of small branches with leaves on the ground all the way from where I live. I saw one crew cleaning up but it wasn't serious.
I don't recall what the official high was but with that much bad weather, surely it didn't make it that high.
It was calmer for several days and I don't think it even got up to 90. Then yesterday it was supposed to rain late, and there was possible rain very early. Well, not very early, as it turned out. The worst of it happened after I left home. I stopped the car for a while and then drove when it looked like things were getting better. Then the sun came out and it was fine.
Today has been a nice day. And since students are moving in at the college, that's a good thing. Imagine if that had happened yesterday.

Way up in the 90s and that didn't even count the heat index, and then supposedly it got cooler on Wednesday. Didn't feel any different to me. There was some rain late Tuesday, and then it looked like it was about to rain for most of the day yesterday but never did. Humidity stays low for a while (it was low?).

Today is supposed to be the worst day. It did get cooler on Wednesday but not as cool as they said, and it was 94 the other days. Last night there were serious storms to the north and west but not where I live. At least there is a cover over the house the tree fell on, and that house was on the front page of the local paper. That was the only serious damage I was aware of from the storm mentioned four posts up.

97 Saturday and severe weather west of where I live. I just heard a lot of thunder and had some rain. I forget what it was yesterday but there was a lot of thunder and a lot of rain late, with flood warnings to the south, and power outages to the west. People must be getting tired of power outages. Or maybe it's different people.
It looks like the next couple of days will be wet. We have a hurricane with an unpronounceable name headed this way. Winds shouldn't be more than 30 MPH based on the last forecast I heard, and those will be gusts.

Today is the first day of Fall, according to one meteorologist and a DJ on the British radio station I listen to online. And it felt like it this morning. It was supposed to be in the 70s yesterday but it got way up into the 80s because Idalia must have moved faster than expected and the sun was out. The cool weather happened on Wednesday.
I was expecting more rain Wednesday. A lot of rain fell Tuesday evening but that was because of the stationary front, not Idalia. The sun was out Wednesday morning and I had put a wash in. I didn't leave until after Roy and I wanted to wear a shirt I was washing, so that's part of what I did while I waited. And then it looked like it was about to rain all day long. I don't think it ever did until late, and there wasn't much, though it lasted a while. No wind to speak of.

Cool over the weekend, until it got up to 91 yesterday. Actually 60 isn't cool but it seemed very different.
I'm actually glad I couldn't go to the beach this week. The weather seems to be ideal only because no rain is in the forecast. But it will be hot.

Way up in the 90s this week. But it gets cooler tomorrow and one reason is rain.
Next week there seems to be a chance of showers most days, Wednesday really doesn't look good, and Thursday is even worse. That's here but until I see a more optimistic forecast for the beach, I'm not going. I usually wait two weeks after Labor Day because something always seems to happen the next week.
And my usual place to see the low and high has changed its fonts to be less readable.

I don't like weeks like this. If I had been prepared I could have gone to the beach this morning. It was so nice and it really doesn't look all that bad. And yet I might have regretted going. As long as the showers are limited to late in the day it shouldn't be a problem. But not so many years ago I got caught in a shower so heavy at 2:00 I almost didn't drive in it. Then I couldn't get out of the car to check into the motel for 30 minutes after I got there. But it's not my usual week. Maybe next week will be better. Also, Lee was still headed our way. Now it has turned like they kept saying it would.
Saturday it drizzled while I was walking early and then there was another shower, but it wasn't nearly as bad as what was forecast. Then it rained a lot later. Yesterday no rain until after dark. No more 90s, and fall weather is coming at the end of the week.

I would have probably regretted going to the beach. Although it has been nice here all week except for late Tuesday, it kept looking like it would be wet at the beach even on Thursday. And early this week, the forecast for the beach next week was about as bad as it could get. Here, it is ideal so how could there be such a difference? Yesterday, though, things began changing. It looks like it might be nice at the beach too.

I was right to go to the beach. I don't remember it ever being that nice on the first day. Clouds starting showing up late Tuesday. I had heard about a possible tropical storm but wasn't too concerned. Wednesday was almost as nice with more clouds late but forecasts for Thursday included rain late.
I was waked up in the middle of the night by rain. One forecast said a possible shower during the night but sun at times on Thursday. It was drizzling when I loaded the car to go home and then it really started coming down. On the radio someone said the rain chance had increased from 20 to 30 percent. 30 percent? Really? But the rain had stopped when I took a break to walk along the river. The sun was out a few miles later.
Was this Ophelia? I know for sure tomorrow it may be cloudy and windy with some rain, and worse along the coast where I just left.
Mid 80s around here this week. I forgot to look to see what the lows and highs were at the beach.

It may not have gotten out of the 70s Saturday but not much rain or wind. No sun but yesterday it was nice.
I'm not sure whether they're even updating temperatures. It always says "yesterday" on the web site. They need to fix that. I just checked and it said 82 today. That's as warm as it will get as the clouds come back.
An inch and a half of rain at the beach the day I left.
