Working on a future move for my mom and me later this year and trying to raise funds for it. Overall it's been a challenging year for me. Do you plan on being an essential worker like Aeryn? NO! I have too many family as essential workers, three are nurses, two are truck drivers, one is a mechanic. It is bad enough that my election job may be nonexistent come November and so I may be have to move even sooner than expected.

It’s a legitimate question because if you really want extra money rn, that’s the only choice. .

Ha. I haven't been stuck at home. I work at a supermarket, one of the "essential" businesses. Hard, hard work. OH MY GOD it's hard. Panic buying has slowed down, but people STILL shop a lot. They just won't go away. 😂 Though luckily, I have two weeks off paid....starting yesterday. 😁 Shopping here seems to have gone back to normal. I worried for a bit I was going to run out of TP, but we made it. Any big plans for your 2 week vacation? Basically rest, torment the neighbours, and eat fast food. Not necessarily in that order. 😂 By the way, I HATE MY JOB!!!! A paycheck every week is cool, but the crap I have to put up with is...beyond annoying. Ha. I haven't been stuck at home. They just won't go away. 😂 Though luckily, I have two weeks off paid....starting yesterday. 😁 People have nothing to do but shop (or loiter around o_0) at “essential” businesses lol They keep coming back. They won't go away. But whenever this lockdown ends, we'll have less customers. They'll be doing other stuff THANK GOD. For the moment, baking seems to be the current thing. So they're always buying up the flour and yeast. One customer asked me why we didn't have a particular brand of flour...made in France. I wanted to stab him repeatedly.

Anyone seen the new version of Emma that came out? I was pleasantly surprised by it, but it's hard to beat Jeremy Northam or Jonny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightly. I haven't. I just haven't decided on paying for it yet!! You are right, it wouldn't be easy to beat either of those guys. They were brilliant.

Maze didn't say he saw the Weather Thread. I'll say it here, again. It wasn't actually the weather system I thought it was. But Maze may recognize this.
God'll get you for that.

I was rewatching the 2005? Pride and Prejudice this weekend. I've never seen the Colin Firth version! I don't like the lady that plays Elizabeth so I've never bothered. I can't add any smilies. When I click to see them all I just get an error on each one so I have no idea which to pick. I wanted to add an embarrassed one.

I love the Toby Stephens version. They are too good looking though. Neither, in book, were much to look at. The producers probably assume good-looking people get more sympathy.
Colin Firth is great. However it’s very long and many characters begin to get in my nerves. A lot over-the-top acting. Jennifer Ehle played Elizabeth. I did not like her as Elizabeth, however I have seen her in a couple of other things. I liked her better. She took judgmental to a whole new level in Pride and Prejudice.

I thought about trying to watch it, but I'll just stick with the Keira Knightley version I like.

On "Jeopardy" the final answer was the state with no Ivy League universities but bordering three which had them. Someone said, "What is Connecticut?" Really?

I know Connecticut sounds wrong, but I also wouldn't know the right answer. Summer has just started and I'm looking at our calendar and I already feel like I'm going be playing catch up all the time instead of actually being on schedule.

The weather here is finally starting to warm back up. Summer break started off so nicely, but then Saturday we had a big storm roll through and the temperature dropped from being in the 90s to a high of 55 for a couple of days! Our nice warm pool is no longer warm and we'll have to wait a week or so for it to warm back up. Times are rough for us right now! (I really wish I could get the smilies to work so you could easily tell I'm being sarcastic)

It was obvious you were being sarcastic. The pool is great for keeping kids entertained.
We’re in NY. We flew. The airline was leaving all middle seats empty. Masks mandatory. I would say more than 99% of people here are wearing masks. Food is takeaway. People are doing a good job observing personal space. There’s a grocery store next door, so we stocked up on daily usuals.
Hope everyone is well.

Sometimes its hard to tell online with sarcasm. I like to think I do it well. Haha
Our trip we were hoping to still get to take to Hawaii for our anniversary isn't happening. They randomly cancelled just my husband's ticket because they need to make sure the planes aren't too full. Before rebooking we double checked to see about their quarantine rule and they extended it to the end of July, so to go visit, you have to quarantine for 14 days after arrival and then you can go about your vacation. We can't take 3 weeks off, and who wants to go quarantine for 14 days and then vacation? We should get all our flights back as a credit to use later, which is nice at least. Crossing our fingers this doesn't happen with the family vacation we have planned in October.
Was the plane full other than the middle seats then?

Sometimes its hard to tell online with sarcasm. I like t Was the plane full other than the middle seats then? The plane was only half full. A lot of space. You would have to 14 day quarantine to go to Hawaii? Seems strict. Especially since so much is opening up. Having said that, a lot of reopened states are seeing an uptick in virus. NY is still shut down, meaning food is carry out and almost everyone wears a mask. One thing about NY I find odd is how many people have dogs. Not really the quantity just that they walk them and they go to the bathroom on just about any surface. I guess I’m just used to grass and obviously they don’t have that luxury. I find I am stepping over wet spots in sidewalks. I assume sidewalks get cleaned??

They just barely opened up inter-island travel there. It was very strange to see people walking their dogs on the sidewalk and you know they all live in apartments. Definitely very different than what we're used to. The sidewalks didn't look like they got cleaned to me. There were stains everywhere we went. And then the garbage that just gets left out on the streets at night for pick up. NYC is definitely a very different place than anywhere else I've been. It's a lot grosser than Chicago. But I still loved going and hope that someday I can go back and see more shows and eat more good food.

I guess we’re not used to city life.😉
I would like to come back when life is back to normal. Whenever, that happens.
