So I thought this was interesting news from Nashcon breakfast J2 panel....

At the moment the episodes INCLUDING 717 are more SAM centric in preparation for Jared having some time off. So they're trying to get into Sams story now and then with more lighter Sam/Jared episodes later they will be DEAN centric.

So no Castipop centric at all. This is out of Jensen and Jareds mouths. lol sorry I can't help but giggle.

And there is a tweet out there that basically says that he knows he can USE Castiel as a reliable source to help with SAM so he uses him!!!

Now lets fix this show and fix Dean to get this show back on track and not make it about some third wheel.

I don't know if he'll come back, I hope not I think we've got some great characters and with the boys on the road..its all good. I also thought it was interesting that it wasn't about getting back Castipop for the J2 but also Chuck and the trickster and Bobby etc....lol oh and Misha! It wasn't like he was even more important. I hope they don't go this route but hey....we got rid of him mostly for one year.

And we'll always have the best SPN years without him....I love when Jensen puts these fans in their place. Although you should see their spin on it all. lol. D.E.L.U.S.I.O.N.A.L. and SAD! They've even resorted into to saying Jensen would know anything.

Oh yaaaaaay! You guys are here. What a relief. Found this pretty late but just in time because I completely lost it when I heard blah blah blah was coming back and this is my anti-cas safe place. Also you guys have very in-depth and interesting comments which I'm always nodding "yeeeees" to. Anyway, Im so turned-off this douche is coming back. I don't care in what form but really?!?!?! Just whyyyy?!!
Also, I know Dean is grieving but....the end of the last episode... wouldnt Sam be enough for Dean to want to live for his brother like Dean was worth it to Sam when he didnt want to leave him alone out there? I need to feel better about this. He's his stone #1 and stone #1 is broken.. And now theres gonna be focus on Cas? Whats the point? They couldve brought back a different character. So many choices. What the hell writers!?! They gave in to the creepy delusional Dean Cas people?

I saw this mentioned at LJ so grain of salt. Some girl asked Jensen about Dean and Castiel's 'pairing' and Jensen was puzzled and asked 'you mean friendship?' and she said 'yeah I guess' and Jensen said they had an odd unusual friendship.

The girl was asking him about Destiel but chickened out at the last moment when he asked if she meant friendship. She was urged to ask the question by her Destiel buddies. Afterward on Tumblr she got pummeled and it made her cry. This is just beyond embarrassing that Jensen has to deal with this crap.

It is way beyond embarrassing now Chloe. Its like one stepping stone and 'they' really do think its within their right and infact they don't seem to care either. They just want it talked about for their own kink. There is no relationship. I don't know where the writers think they are going and/or Jensen and Jared wanting all these people back but...I guess its not the story that once was.

I agree Ben. I'm really worried about where the show is headed. My enjoyment of the show is way down mostly because of the way Sam and Dean have changed because of the injection of the angels. Dean has been obnoxious all season wallowing in his grief, revenge, whatever it is. And the fact that he's actually grieving over Cas is repugnant. He should be boiling mad. If ever Dean should want revenge it should be over what that bastard did to them. It's degrading to me to see them be willing to forgive him and make excuses for him.

It's especially upsetting to me that TPB actually are seemingly giving in to the sick Destiel lovers and giving them what they want. The fact that it comes up at cons and Jensen and Jared have to actually refute the idea that Dean loves Cas is so beyond anything I'd ever have imagined for this show.

If they do bring him back next season I don't think I can take any more.

Benson35, thanks a bunch for the info out of NashCon, it does make me feel more optimistic (more so than I'm usually am ;D) Guess I still have faith that tptb are not giving into the destiel fandom ever since I heard that the save-Cas letters and postcards were returned-to-sender. I sent a letter to LA and Burbank asking politely for the return of the amulet and several months later no returned letter! So they do keep the fan letters. So the girl trying and failing to ask about the destiel end up bullied on tumblir and crying about it. Seems there is alot of crying from destiel and JS going on, they're doing the same thing on YT after being more or less voted down/shouted down by general SPN fans.

Normally I would agree that actors are the worst source for spoilers but given they are so close to filming (or are they filming now/finished?) I would go with what Jensen has said.

Yes Jensen doesn't know anything. And it was Deans fault that Castiel went mad. And the whole sex scene was apparently about a hand print that wasn't and the whole of SPN is about a relationship that isn't. i think even Jensen is beginning to think the fans are crazy.

I wonder if he knew that those fans, Destiel that they give into and fanservice so much actually voted against Supernatural PCA.....

Well Jensen said that Castiel was source. Something about having an understanding, knowing that they had each others back?? I dont' know where that came from especially when ahh...he Castiel doesn't. Anyhow...their not happy, for them its all about Dean loving Castiel the most. Even though Dean didn't say they had a profound bond or Dean didn't say Sam was an abomination..they believe what Castiel says. Dean went to Lisa and made a life and wasn't there for Castiel...I told you Delusional!!

I'll go a step further, Dean reaction to Sam's death vs Cas death is very stark. Dean went completely mental every time Sam died and Dean end up dying twice to bring Sam back to life. Dean barely acknowledged Cas' death (Misha even expressed disapointement that the Winchester brothers were never shown mourning Cas' passing) and he NEVER tried to find a way to resurrect Cas, not even a question to the possibility. Dean had 3 weeks off due to a broken leg and no mentioned during that time off of trying to bring Cas back.

yeah there's a youtube vid where jensen/jared answered this question...and the look on their faces when she asked was priceless...jensen esp. looked puzzled/confused....so i wonder if he knows about that e! online poll?

I renember the days when I would enjoy the tweets that would come in from the people who go to these conventions, but now a days it's like the majority that go to these things are destiel shippers. Jensen was asked about the hand print twice and why it's gone, once at breakfeast the other time and his meet and greet, than they also bring about the trench coat scence, which in my eyes wasn't as significant as the warehouse scence between Sam and Dean, yet knowbody asks the guys these questions. Besides that, the question for the trenchcoat was already asnwered by Guy bee, what did they think they were going to get out of Jensen by asking this again?

I fear for teh direction of the show, Jensen used to always state how the show is about the brothers, by now he is saying he wants Misha to be back for a season 8? I get they are friends with him, but The character of Cas is done and over with, I don't want to have to deal with watching a season 8 with him on my screen. Sometimes i think Jensen says what he says because if he says otherwise the fans will eat him alive.

It was a big deal that the Destiel question was asked because she didn't ask in a friendship sort of way, if you watch the video she says "Pairing" and "What do you think about the Dean and Cas pairing" Jensen corrected her by saying "Friends" and she went along with it. There has to be a line drawn about what gets asked, I hated when Wincest used to be asked fro them, it's the same with Destiel. None of it is canon, and jsut because as fans you spend your time looking at porn or speaking with other people who try and say the Destial or whatever ship you believe in is canon, that is your own fault, but reality is, it's not canon, it's your own fantasy and should be kept to yourself and not try to get a reaction out of the actors. I loved Jensen's response to this by the way. What do fans think he was going to say if you asked him about this?

Again, the majority of the people who now go to these cons seem to care less about Sam and Dean and their bond as brothers, and now try to push Castiel and making him more important than he really is. I kind of felt bad for Jared because this is not just a Jensen panel, and the majority of the questions were asked for Jensen, and half of those questions was about Dean and Cas.

I just hope that Jensen and Jared know that there are more fans who still watch for the brothers and can care less about Cas

i agree with it being less about the brothers now...and you're right alot of it was about dean/cas...i wish tptb/writiers/actors could see that.....but i'll give it to jared..the man has class and rises above it....but i think jensen wants "everyone" back for s8--rob, dick, misha, jim, etc...not just misha

it's sad that a secondary character has been allowed to overshadow a main one and the brotherly relationship....

But why does he want these people back? How are they going to fit into the Superantural universe again. Are we going back to angels or Supernatural books with Chuck. I mean this seems bizarre. I thought a natural progression would be to go on to hunters and fighting 'demons' so they can be the big damn heroes they promised in the earlier season. And to show us the progression of their relationship.

I'd rather them integrate a couple of girls. Not bring back characters that were part of a mythology and now that is over. Thats not good storytelling Jensen thats just fanservicing to the convention set.

Yes, Dean seems to be arosen to have the most familiar connections to others. Every one-night-stand is for Dean a deeper relationship, while Sam ...hm...Sam is actually the one who needs a connection to the girl, Dean has a family thing and is the family guy in SPN with people in his comfort zone, and nowadays there is also place for a supernatural being who hurt his brother and owns the meat suit of one human guy.
Surely they will make it that it was neccessary that Sam's wall broke because Lucifer has some information for the leviathans and Sam can recieve them and then its all good again and Dean can pet his little demon with wings and crawl on his knees to plead for forgiveness because he failed his winged chickens cries for help. Gah!

Season 8 is all Sam centric and SamPOV and Dean can hold hands with the thing but please offscreen then!
I know that Sam and Dean are the best when they can be real brothers onscreen, with all what made this show great (we re-watch old episodes together since two weeks and what we feel is a loss and it hurts to see the great episodes back then and now)
Sam is cutout from his own personal story after he came back from his supreme ordeal. I am waiting now already the second year to see his aftermath and getting insight!
I want for Jared a meaty human story, since he even turned down an offer in a movie for the summer! I don't want to see silent Sam standing in the corne...againr! But even this Jared rocks! Jared is the reason Sam is still alive and kicking, if not for him I would be not here anymore! And of course the brothers. Let them shine again...writers!

I think I searched under what happened to cw message boards and then supernatural message boards and eventually a list came up and this was on it. It also said something like people from the former cw message boards were here. I don't exactly remember because I was in a rage.

I am so angry and confused with all this. There have been so many mixed messages from writers for about 3 years. I've watched reruns except for season 4 through 6. I feel like I've been in mourning. I feel cheated. >:(Ive been emotionally invested in these characters of Sam and Dean and their story. I was very hopeful in the beginning of season 7 , especially after the brother scene in Hello Cruel World. Um.... Sam and Dean's characters havent been believable to me. Dean wouldve killed Cas. Him breaking Sam's wall wouldve been so unacceptable. Dean hasnt shown real concern for Sam . I swear its a fan fiction Dean character thats been on my screen and it really pisses me off. It makes no sense. To forgive Cas and just....ugh!!!
The cons made me smile and laugh. Now they make me cringe. What the hell is going on. This show was my happy place. I've lost so much respect for them (not Jensen or Jared) for destroying the authenticity of this show and characters. There have been some wonderful scenes this season but I don't like where its going.

I understand what you mean, conventions now seem to be about Cas fans wanting every actor to either talk about Cas and or Misha. The majority of the questions on the J2 breakfast and panel was about Cas/Misha. I find that disrespectful because this is meant to be a panel where you discuss the boys not another character or actor that you just saw the day before.

I feel like I should just not take part of anything with this fandom anymore because jsut the show in general is different and has a different feel to it. I just have to renember it's just a show and nothing more and not to get frustrtated. Like the poll with Dean/Cas I was adament to vote hard against them winning, but just today I thought "What is that going to accomplish me" I have school work piled up, I have family, I have a life. I don't want to sit on my ass I vote for something that isn't going to have an effect on my life. My reasoning behind that poll was that the people who do sit on their ass and vote vote vote, seem to think they will get something out of it. When in reality they will not. Dean/Cas will never be canon no matter how hard they push, and Jensen and Misha are not going to be grateful or care about this stinkin poll anyway. But what upsets me is that when they win they Dean/Cas will say "See! We all voted to get you guys to win this poll" When that is not the truth at all, not everybody voted for them. Please don't include me.

I vouch that after season 7, if Cas returns, I know that is my cue to bow out of this show and it's fandom entirely because I can see right through the networks B.S in giving the fans who scream the loudest what they want.

I admit I don't know how I will react if Cas comes back as even a semi-regular next season. I have been so attached to this show for so long that I hate to give up on it. But if the ECFs are being catered to then I don't think I can continue to watch.

Now, if they were to bring Cas back as a complete bad guy, I could cope. Forcing Dean to experience what Sam did with Ruby would be fine with me. What I don't want is a forgive and forget arc. If the show decides that Cas has to be "redeemed" I can only accept it if it is personal redemption, but Dean never truly forgives him. What I really want is for Cas to GO AWAY, but I'm not counting on that.

The big thing is, the ratings have been fine without Cas. I am really worried that there will be a spike in the ratings when Cas returns and the writers will decide that he needs to be brought back. What really worries me is that Jared now says that episode 17 will be Sam centric. Knowing that could bring Sam fans back into the fold, but Castiel would get the credit.

I'm not going to panic until I see what they do. I'm also not going to fret about Jensen saying he wants Cas back. Jensen said he wants everybody back, which is one way saying Cas is no more important than other guest stars. Plus this is a convention with lots of Cas fans and Cas is returning. What is Jensen supposed to say? It would be rude to say he doesn't think the character belongs anymore. He described the relationship as Castiel being a reliable (not trusted) resource., kind of like Wikipedia. The remark didn't speak to a great connection or friendship.

All we can do is wait and see how this all plays out.

Percyowner, you're awesome with your list and likewise, the eternal optimist in me is waiting to see what role Cas will have. Before I never thought Cas would have such an inglorious exit as in getting dumped in the middle lake, but he did!

Not only actors are the worst source for spoilers but they have the least power in the business, the best you can do is be professional and that what Jensen is doing. Jim Beaver said something similar.

yeah jared said in his m&g that he met with bruce willis recently and was offered a part in the next die hard movie as his son...but turned it down cuz it would have conflicted with filming if spn was picked up for s8.....

yeah jared said in his m&g that he met with bruce willis recently and was offered a part in the next die hard movie as his son...but turned it down cuz it would have conflicted with filming if spn was picked up for s8.....

Would he still be able to take it if there is no season 8? I think this would be a great chance for Jared and would love to see it happen. So now I have mixed feelings about season 8, especially with Misha coming back and the possibility that he might be in season 8.
So NOT looking forward to seeing Cas again. The only thing that would make it palatable for me is if they kill him off.

It was a big deal that the Destiel question was asked because she didn't ask in a friendship sort of way, if you watch the video she says "Pairing" and "What do you think about the Dean and Cas pairing" Jensen corrected her by saying "Friends" and she went along with it. There has to be a line drawn about what gets asked, I hated when Wincest used to be asked fro them, it's the same with Destiel. None of it is canon, and jsut because as fans you spend your time looking at porn or speaking with other people who try and say the Destial or whatever ship you believe in is canon, that is your own fault, but reality is, it's not canon, it's your own fantasy and should be kept to yourself and not try to get a reaction out of the actors. I loved Jensen's response to this by the way. What do fans think he was going to say if you asked him about this?

Again, the majority of the people who now go to these cons seem to care less about Sam and Dean and their bond as brothers, and now try to push Castiel and making him more important than he really is. I kind of felt bad for Jared because this is not just a Jensen panel, and the majority of the questions were asked for Jensen, and half of those questions was about Dean and Cas.

I just hope that Jensen and Jared know that there are more fans who still watch for the brothers and can care less about Cas

i agree with it being less about the brothers now...and you're right alot of it was about dean/cas...i wish tptb/writiers/actors could see that.....but i'll give it to jared..the man has class and rises above it....but i think jensen wants "everyone" back for s8--rob, dick, misha, jim, etc...not just misha

it's sad that a secondary character has been allowed to overshadow a main one and the brotherly relationship....

I think that the show gives us to little about the brothers bond. There was this Dean who was deadlined to meet Death to get his brothers soul back. There was the hug and some other nice scenes in "Like A Virgin" There was "Unforgiven" with a Dean at Sam's side and and there was the scene with Sam falling down because of hellfire memories and Dean thought he would loose him. There was this scene where Dean offered pills to Sam so he can feel better and they talked with each other, they talked ..in a way I want to see much more. There was "Teh French Mistake" where Sam wanted to go back with Dean so they can be brothers despite his damaged life.
There was "The Man Who Knew To Much" with Sam trying to get back to his brother while in a coma and Dean hovering over him till they decided to go after the purgatory thing. I don't know whether I think its good that Dean let his brother alone ....but Sam woke up embracing his whole memories to get back to his brother! Because he didn't want to let his brother alone out there!
Then there was the first two episodes with a lot Sam and Dean communication, that was what we all liked to see and we all were really pumped up for season 7. And since then the show let me down with brother moments, and with Sam moments especially. Since Castiel is not there, Sam is painted with only few colors, shadows and light.
With or without Castiel its how the writers want to write for Sam a main character and an important character of this show. Except Dean with Sam, all the other characters are not the show. And if they would make it about the thing what harmed Sam they would really jump the shark, but for real.
When he comes back or not, its more how they write for Sam and Dean. That's what matters, Castiel doesn't matter.

And to bring back all the character who were once there, is for me hmmm....maybe in one episode like in a dream world, or in a djinn dream, or in an inner journey, where god (Rob) says something final, or John comes back for one last talk with BOTH! In Mary I am not interested anymore.

The one and only I would enjoy to come back is the trickster. And I want FOR ONCE that the trickster comes back to Sam and apologizes to him, because what he did to him was really cruel and the show didn't acknowledge it later. I want for the trickster to come back and regret what he did to Sam! Its not about how often he killed Dean (because Dean doesn't remember) its how often Sam had to watch Dean die and live over 6 months alone!!!
