Just how many threads are going to be locked/deleted today?! The whole point of having this site was to NOT be like the CW. This is NOT a nunnery, for fuck's sake. We're all adults, right? So, why are all these threads getting locked? Kids, the word for today is OVER-MODERATION.  |

So far, I don't see any reason to lock this one...ya'll are certainly free to express frustration about the Modding - we aren't that sensitive. But when one thread after another immediately devolves into unproductive fan-bashing, then we have to do something. When the thread explaining why it's unproductive immediately continues the futile argument, than we have to do something - especially if other members express discomfort about the content...at a minimum, we will look into that.

I dunno. I think you guys were being a bit overly-sensitive myself. If people can't take it, then they don't need to be dishing it and need to step out of the thread and ignore those who may be expressing their own frustrations. What about instead of locking and deleting threads, why not give certain members warnings first? Because honestly, I have to say that the constant hate for Cas and/or Misha spread in more than one thread is a bit overkill and needs to stop. Aeryn had the right idea when she made her thread.
I don't know what happened after my last post as I'm pretty sick right now and went to bed, but just from my own experience in moderating/administrating a forum for about 3-4 years, this is just a bit much isn't it? I mean deleting threads? Warn people first to cool their attitude and if they don't, put them on a few days of suspension, or a week, and if they still don't listen to the rules, then ban them or something. I don't know, but deleting whole threads, I feel, isn't necessary... *shrugs* JMHO...

We didn't HAVE any arguments until someone trolled one of my threads...that's when it all started.
Deleting entire threads because one [...] decides she doesn't like the topic is silly....and A LOT like the CW.

Aeryn had every right to say what she said. Some people are excessive with their hate and it's annoying. Why can some people refer to friends of mine as Jefferson Starships (I have friends who are Destiel fans) but I can't say I don't like it? I can't vent my frustrations. The reason for deleting the content wasn't because you guys were talking about it. The reason was that you guys were going overboard and we wanted to keep this place peaceful. It violated the TOS, simple as that. It's stickied at the top of every forum if you guys want to see the rules again.

Friday, to my knowledge, you didn't violate any particular rule.
Ya'll are certainly free to talk about damn near anything, but when threads turn into name-calling, use of inappropriate words, and just generall meaness, we have to do something.
And when there is only 1 or 2 Mods on, and ya'll are posting, and reporting, and PMing, and reposting at a rate of approximately 3 per minute, we are pretty quick to delete a thread, rather than edit. i can understand how that is frustrating for you guys, and I for one can say that i will try to avoid that in the future

And, damn...seriously...when you girls all get fired up at once, it is quite an onslaught! We value your feelings about deletions vs. edits, and related issues, and I think will take them to heart in the future.
I am also gonna put it out there...tell me what you think about what went down today. Maybe getting some varying opinions about what to do, will help us do it better next time...
