He was indeed a great actor, known for his risk-taking roles and his great collaborations with director John Cassavetes. The two movies that come to mind immediately for me are Road House and The Big Leibowski. For some reason I've always had a difficult time confusing him with David Jannsen. ![]() Ben Gazzara ![]() David Jannsen Jannsen died in 1980. |

That is fair.
I most certainly would have mistaken the 2....if it were not for the fact that Ben .....and the father of my childhood friend....were clones, possibly ...lol.
We used to joke on how great a resemblance that (Ray) held to Ben.
It was one of those spooky ones.......as it was that close.
