yep, did you read what Jensen said? Look at Jess Forum in the Nash Con thread, its really crushing! I don't know what he is smoking right now! Not looking forward to season 8! And wish for Jared to get out of that contract so he can really work! I am looking forward to see him in different roles, but I love Sam to death, well I will be witness of his character death, because the character is heading in that direction and later to see Sam's death. Because for Sam there is no hope in this series! But Sam is all 'Hope'! LOL! Shadow I used the same figure of speech on twitter to get across the notion that Dean may see himself as a pillar for Sam but he's not been that in more than 2 seasons. His meet and greets are cut outs now. I wonder which show he's been watching?

I think most of us would agree that currently the angst on the show is tiresome. But I don't think it's the level of angst, but rather the content that's the problem. The writers seem to be approaching the show more like a grocery list and less like a recipe. They're running through the aisles tossing in 3 boxes of angst, 1 can of sex jokes, 4 packets of roadside talks, thinking that they're giving us everything we asked for. But there seems to be little thought put into the order in which various factors are introduced, how different elements blend with each other, and perhaps most importantly, how long to let each stage last.
As has been discussed (well, that's one word for it) up thread and elsewhere in painful detail, while they've been going on Dean-angst overdrive the past few months, there's been a dearth in what's shown for Sam. But that's not even close to the only problem with it. What they have shown for Sam is so far off topic and so pointless that even though it's only been a few scenes, it really does feel like we've overdosed on that as well. Meanwhile Dean's has been so badly charted and erratic that it doesn't even feel like a downward spiral but a moebius strip that we keep going round and round and round in, never getting anywhere. Every episode he supposedly gets worse, more depressed, less hopeful. But I look at him in 7x01 and I look at him in 7x10 and he looks just as bad in both, probably b/c he was maxed out to begin with.
So, what am I left with now? Lumps, chars and alternating cardboard and goo. Where the hell are the blueberry pancakes I asked for?!
That said, it’s still breakfast time and that’s what I came here looking for. No one goes to IHOP to order a pizza. Supernatural’s backbone has always been angst. At times it’s been able to play with the big boys when it comes to mythology or philosophy or action sequences or one liners. But, at least for me, there’s never been a time with any of those at which I thought, in this aspect, there is no show that can do what this show does. I HAVE thought that when it comes to the angst. The shock of being swung from one end of the emotional pendulum to the other in Mystery Spot, the utter hopelessness at the end of My Bloody Valentine, and the mountains and mountains of grief.
For better or worse, it’s always been excessively angsty and it can’t be otherwise. We wouldn’t recognize it if it were.
But it’s high time they got their head back in the game and actually do the angst WELL rather than just like something off a checklist.

I love this show, but am really tired of the weekly Sam & Dean drama. It's clearly dragging the show down. A lot of people slam season 6, but at least it had a direction, and consistent action throughout. This season has meandered aimlessly most of the time, and every episode seems to end with some kind of sappy brother moment. We get it. The Winchester boys have been through a lot. Both are haunted by past experiences, and the loss of Bobby is just the latest blow. But how about the producers quit beating us over the head with this, and give them a true mission to focus on? Like the oft-ignored and mismanaged Leviathans? I like that the brothers have feelings, and am not against the occasional episode that focuses on this. But this season has gotten to be too much. Let them be men, and focus their troubles on kicking some monster ass instead of constantly emoting. This show is about action, not hankies. While I haven't hated this season I'll agree that the angst is getting tiresome, along with Dean's depression. At the end of last week's episode I found that I just didn't care about the talk the boys had in the car at the end of the episode. After 6.5 seasons what more do they have to say to one another that they don't already know. I miss supporting characters who interacted with the brothers and had their own stories too. It made for a much more multidimensional show. Right now (I can't believe I'm even saying this) it's almost too much Sam and Dean. I just don't care about Dean feeling depressed and Sam hiding his own pain. I want them to be badass hunters again and to smile sometimes and to interact with other reoccuring characters (not just the guest characters for the week). Oh and I want the Impala back!
