Formal Warnings
Ok Refugees, so here is the situation…Moon visited a Psychic recently – the old school gypsy kind – and what with all of his BattleStarWarsEnterpriseFireflyDragonDungeon stuff, she told him that next time, he would need to bring her a "science fiction translator" in order for her to help be able to him. Well, he screwed it all up and ended up with a scientific calculator, instead…you know the fancy kind that can navigate the space shuttle? Well, he’s been fiddling with it ever since, and that has a lot to do with the percentages you see below…something about T minus X, to the power of Y, over the inverse of 9669…
The following is the Warning System that we will be using. It is a way for everyone to know exactly where they stand, should they get sideways with the rules. I imagine it will be used infrequently, but it was this, or having us call your Mom. My Mom thinks I get paid for this, and therefore actually have a job, so she still lets me live in the basement. No way, I am risking a phone call to her. Anyway…I’m off topic. Please bear in mind that this is only a rough guideline! If you do not like it rough, let someone on Staff know, and we will see what we can do – perhaps add some fabric softener, or sew in a silky lining. Depending on the severity of the offense, and the number of times it has occured, the Formal Warnings may skip some levels. Furthermore, accounts that are created for no purpose other than Trolling, may be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Ogre-ing, and Fairy-ing will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
08% - Level 1 Warning
16% - Level 2 Warning
25% - Three Day Ban
33% - Level 3 Warning
41% - Level 4 Warning
50% - One Week Ban
58% - Level 5 Warning
66% - Level 6 Warning
75% - One Month Ban
83% - Level 7 Warning
91% - Level 8 Warning
100% - Perma-Ban
If you receive a Formal Warning, it will display in your miniprofile (the thingy to the left of all of your posts, where you probably display a photo and some clever, pithy, remarks. It will display as a red bar, the length of which represents your current Warning Level. It is visible to you and Staff only. You will always receive a PM, as well. The Warning Bar has nothing at all to do with Karma. FYI, telling me you think I am witty, certainly does affect Karma; doing so publicly is worth extra-credit.
If you find yourself with a Warning Bar, then 1 time in every every 30 day period, you may request that it be reduced or removed. Bar-reduction, and Bar-ectomy surgeries are at the discretion of Staff, and are definitely based on the…errr…size of the bar, as well as recent and/or related conduct. To request a reduction of a Warning Level, please send a PM to an Administrator. It is exclusively up to YOU to request Bar-reduction surgery, or a Bar-ectomy. It will not happen automatically. Note, if you live in Canada, or Europe, your health coverage will likely cover the procedure…if you live in the US…well, you know damn well it won’t, why would you even wonder?
A Warning Bar that is lowered or removed, is not a license to resume inappropriate behavior. The Warning System keeps records and notes, and has told us (in a creepily calm and soothing voice) that his name is Hal. If your Warning Bar is reduced, you should not assume that you then “have room” to act out again, without risk of sanction. Rapid or flagrant return to rule-breaking, could result in instant suspension, depending on the nature and severity. Lastly, Hal has a thing for small, cute monkeys, but doesn’t like the computer smash smiley
