I had a great aunt who lived outside Washington. We went to see her in 1975 to talk to her about moving into a nursing home. Soon after that she did, and since it was so far away there were no regular visitors except one cousin until she died in 1990. I thought it was strange when I heard my father visited her while my mother was in the hospital. It turned out that was another aunt of his who lived in a nursing home, and I went with him (but only to the nearby library and the mall, not to see her) when he would visit that aunt for several years.
But when we went to see the first great aunt, we took her to Washington. I went inside the Capitol and that's about all I remember. I was a teenager at the time, but I just don't remember all that much.
