Here is a place where we might help each other in our quest for that song that we heard only once....and cannot forget.
I will start with a most impossible one...
It is played in Dr. Stranglove. It is an instrumental. It is playing on a small transistor radio when Group Captain Lionel Mandrake finds it hidden among some computers....just before he confronts the Mad General Ripper.
idk

Assuming there is no listing in the credits (and from what I could find online, there's not), it's most likely an original composition by the film's composer Laurie Johnson.
There's a slight possibility that it was production music, but in that case it should have been credited. Also I believe films from the 60s were much more likely to use original compositions than production music (as opposed to today's movies).
Either way I think you're SOL on getting the song.

Timmy, I have been digging and digging for information and I am unable to find the music so it's probably an original piece done by Laurie Johnson the film's composer but I'll keep digging some more, I have even checked the soundrack and apparantely there isn't one yet but like i said i am still digging

Timmy, I've been digging as well, I've only seemed to find one main song from the keywords I've used: Laurie Johnson and Dr. Strangelove.
I'm not sure if this was the song or not, I've never seen the movie... but I'll do some more digging.

Timmy, I'm a huge fan of this movie, as I am with EVERYTHING the brilliant Stanley Kubrick did. I will try to find out more as well.

This song plays at work all the time and it took me awhile to find it. I kept forgetting by the time i got home. But yeah, I couldn't believe it was Jason Mraz. He sure has grown up. Gotta say i like him better w/the shorter hair than the long hair he has now...
