Peter Dinklage played a man who repaired model trains in the back of his friend's store. He was a recluse because he didn't like the way people treated him. Then his friend died and he inherited the friend's depot in a nearby town. He moved in and started restoring some railroad cars nearby. A man who sold hot dogs decided to make friends with him and he finally gave in. And although some people in the town said things like, "De plane! De plane!" he came out of his shell. At one point he was really enjoying following real trains with his friend and a camera.
There's a long list of awards and nominations. I didn't know at the time he was that same guy who won an Emmy for this show several months before I saw the movie.
